Chapter 1142 Grand Gathering (3)
As Ames had predicted, the new Array was successfully completed just three days after her conversation with Aron and Cade.
Following the array's completion, Aron gathered the first Regis members to enter the formation. It did not take long for them to gather because he and Cade met and assigned each Regis member and Kyran's people in groups even before the array's completion. They only needed to confirm the number of people who could enter the formation and send them to the location.
Unexpectedly, it was Raya who coordinated with Aron and Cade for the group's transport. When they inquired about Kyran's whereabouts, Raya's response was vague, indicating that he was preoccupied with something else and unable to assist them personally. This unexpected turn of events left everyone in the group feeling surprised and curious.
After hearing Raya's response, Rin was both disappointed and worried. She knew her son well enough to know that he would spare some time to meet them even if he was busy. Even if he could not assist them, he would show up and assure them that he was there and doing fine. After all, the last news they heard about him was that The Emperor was chasing him and that they had lost his track.
Rin wanted to interrogate Raya, but the latter could only look at her awkwardly and apologize as he could not answer her question.
Raya's response confirmed that Kyran had likely overexerted himself again and was out cold.
The fact that they had not seen Lord Aillos and had not heard about Cyneah's whereabouts since their arrival also meant that he might know something.
Their suspicion was actually half correct.
Right after the new Array was completed, Aillos, who returned to the location after hearing that it was nearing completion, took Kyran to Cyneah's location. Kyran initially wanted to coordinate the transportation of the Regis members to the array's location, but Aillos forbade him, knowing full well that the young man was once more overexerting himself.
Before Kyran passed out cold again, Aillos took him to Cyneah so she could help him rest.
Aillos already noticed that Cyneah was the only one who could lower Kyran's defenses. Though it might seem a very dangerous weakness, Aillos believed that Kyran had to lower his defenses for the time being so he could rest properly. Because unless he did that, he would still be on guard and would end up unable to rest properly.
In the end, Kyran relented because he did not know when he would reach his limits and pass out. He did not want that to happen in front of his parents and make them worry unnecessarily.
Because Lord Aillos made Kyran leave the location, Raya could only lie through his teeth. Aron, Cade, and Rin might have higher authority, but compared to Lord Aillos, Raya felt that the former three would be more forgiving than the latter.

Rin caught on to Raya's dilemma and decided not to make things harder for him. After all, he, along with Myst and the rest of the Regis who were proficient in Array, had worked hard to complete the new Array. She decided to give Raya some slack and feigned ignorance.
Gael, Filren, and Tritus, the representatives of Kyran's Servants, Sigils, and marked people, told Aron and Cade to let the Regis members enter the formation first. The reason behind their insistence was simple: the magic energy circulating within the new formation was Draconic. This was obvious since the energy originated from Coelus's corpse.
Though it would also be beneficial for them to understand the flow of Draconic magic energy, the improvement they would receive would be minimal compared to those who had dragon blood in their veins.
Zephyr was the only exception among Kyran's people, so they asked Aron and Cade to join the first batch. Since he was a quilin, he could benefit greatly upon absorbing Coelus's corpse.
Initially, Zephyr did not want to participate because he had yet to present himself before Lord Aillos and report what happened to the rest of the quilins that were supposed to guard the Shaiha. Unfortunately, Lord Aillos, Aron, and Cade had been so busy since their arrival that Zephyr could not meet them.
But when Aron and Cade gave their assigned group, Zephyr was surprised that they had included him among the first group to enter the formation.
When he asked why they included them, Aron told him with a smile that Gael, Filren, and Tritus had requested it and that Lord Aillos allowed it.
Zephyr felt overwhelmed, knowing that Gael and the others requested his inclusion, and at the same time, Lord Aillos, the Dragon Emperor he had yet to meet, allowed it. In the end, he followed their lead and joined the first batch.
But, like the others, Zephyr was disappointed and worried when he did not see Kyran. He could somehow sense him because of their connection— which was the only assurance he and the other Sigils had, confirming his presence and status. Nonetheless, not knowing for sure how their Master was doing, not to mention they had not seen their young Mistress, they were very worried.
Auto-one— now officially named Rae by Kyran— was the one who accompanied the Regis members into the formation. He was given this task because he was the only one unaffected by Coelus's corpse's magic energy among the people present there.
In fact, if not for Aillos's barrier and Rae's control over the Array formation, everyone within the corpse's influence would have long lost control over their senses.
The number of people that could enter the formation at a time was fifty. They could actually extend it to seventy. However, Kyran worried that having seventy people in the formation might cause instability if they all broke through their mage level at the same time. Thus, they all agreed to allow fifty people, which was safe.

Most of the members who entered the formation were at the Arch Magus level. In fact, about twenty were at the peak Magus and were close to becoming Arch Magus.
For the record, the lowest level among them was a peak Master. After entering the Higher Realm and stabilizing their magic cores with the realm's abundant magic energy, some of them advanced to Grand Master. Frankly, even without the formation, they could advance their level as long as they meditated and absorbed enough magic energies in the surroundings.
The process would not be as fast while inside the formation, but they could still improve.
Aron and Cade also considered this when they decided who should enter the formation first. They let those with higher-level mages enter first while those with lower levels continued absorbing the natural magic energy in the surroundings. This would allow the lower-level mages to improve their understanding of magic before being exposed to pure Draconic magic energy.
If they had done it the other way around, the lower-level mages' growth would have been explosive while inside the formation, but once they left, their magic core that had already been exposed to high-quality Draconic magic energy might no longer be satisfied with the quality of magic energies in the surroundings.
Thus, Aron and Cade decided to let the higher-level mages enter the formation first to avoid this. Besides, the amount of magic energy that higher-level mages could absorb would be limited. They would already be seeking special magic energy to learn. In this case, the Regis were using Regis Techniques, which were actually Dragon magic.
They all had different innate magic, but once they absorbed the high-quality Draconic magic, their innate magic would develop in the direction that could allow them to utilize the Regis Techniques better. They might even be able to use Draconic Magic because the dragon blood in their veins would become stronger.
Ducal and the rest of the dragons who assisted in the creation of the new Array stayed in the location to witness the whole process.
Surprisingly, none of them showed any interest in experiencing absorbing Coelus's magic energy. They even showed fear while watching the Regis enter the formation and get into position.
"How long would it take for the first batch to complete their immersion?" Aron asked Myst, who was waiting outside the formation with the others.
"The Young Master made the array to allow low-level mages to stay for a minimum of ten days and high-level mages for a minimum of seven days. It will all depend on how fast they can absorb the magic energy and receive enlightenment."
"Hmm... I can see Kyran's urgency to strengthen the family," Aron noticed with a slight frown.
"I don't know how much Lord Aillos told you about the current situation here, but that is how dire things are," Myst replied with a sigh. "The Emperor already announced the Void Master's existence, and anyone who wants to receive his good graces will have already started gathering elites to search for him."
"I can see why Kyran feels the situation is dire," Aron agreed thoughtfully. "In any case, we'll have to talk about his plan soon."
"R-Right... He'll be available once he is done with his other... task..." Myst replied uneasily.
Aron chuckled at Myst's response and said, "Don't worry. I'm sure he'll be available before the Grand Gathering starts."
