Let's Train Heroine

Chapter 258 Heroine Fighting Her Natural Enemy

Lilith's grin only widened, shadows swirling around her like a dark storm as she prepared herself for the battle.

The ground trembled under her feet, the air thick with tension as she faced off against Maris, the Saint. The faint remnants of Iris's heart, still cradled in the shadows beside her, pulsed softly, but Lilith paid it no mind. All her focus was on Maris.

Maris's gaze was unflinching, emotionless, and her body glowed with an ethereal light. She lifted one hand, and the space around her shimmered with power. Then, without a word, she moved.

The world seemed to blur. One moment Maris was standing across from Lilith, and the next, she was right beside her, the wind from her sheer speed sending shockwaves through the area. Maris's fist, radiant with divine energy, shot out towards Lilith's chest, intent on ending the Dark Fairy Queen's life in one decisive blow.

Lilith barely had time to react. Her instincts screamed at her to move, to do something, but the sheer speed and power of Maris's attack left her rooted in place, her shadows wavering uncertainly. But just as Maris's fist was about to connect, something—or rather, someone—intervened.

A flash of black, and Maris's fist was blocked by another. The impact sent a shockwave rippling through the air, the ground beneath them cracking and splitting. Maris's eyes narrowed as she met the gaze of a young woman with flowing white hair, dressed in a white, elegant robe that billowed around her like a cloak of shadows.

A wicked smile curved the woman's lips as she held Maris's punch effortlessly, not an ounce of strain on her face.

"Not so fast, Saint," the woman said. She pushed Maris's fist aside, then spun on her heel, her leg arcing through the air in a powerful kick aimed directly at Maris's midsection.

Maris's eyes widened slightly, the first hint of surprise breaking through her cold demeanor. She barely managed to raise an arm to block the kick, and even then, the force behind it sent her skidding back several feet, her heels digging furrows into the earth.

The woman straightened, brushing a stray strand of hair behind her ear. She glanced at Lilith, who was staring at her in disbelief, then turned her attention back to Maris.

"Evil Magician," Maris said flatly.

Nyx's smile widened, her dark eyes glittering with amusement. "Ah, so you know who I am. I'm flattered, really." She stepped forward, the shadows around her growing darker, denser, as if drawn to her very presence. "But I'm afraid I can't let you have Lilith just yet. I need her… alive."

Maris said nothing. She simply watched, her gaze flickering to Lilith, who had regained her composure and was now grinning wickedly. The Dark Fairy Queen's eyes shone with a manic glee, and she raised one hand, shadows swirling around her fingers like living serpents.

"Guess I owe you one, Nyx," Lilith said, her voice a low purr. "But don't think for a second I can't handle myself."

Nyx chuckled softly. "Oh, I don't doubt it. But it'd be such a shame if you died before we got to have our fun, don't you think?"

Before Lilith could respond, Maris moved again—this time faster than before. Her body blurred, and she reappeared directly in front of Nyx, her hand raised high. A sphere of pure, blinding light formed in her palm, crackling with energy. Without hesitation, she slammed it down towards Nyx's head.

Nyx's smile didn't falter. She vanished in a swirl of shadows, reappearing several feet away just as the sphere of light exploded against the ground. The resulting shockwave blasted through the battlefield, sending rocks and debris flying in every direction. But Nyx didn't so much as flinch.

She merely lifted a hand, and the shadows rose around her like a protective barrier, absorbing the impact effortlessly.

"Hmm… You're really not holding back, are you?" Nyx mused, tilting her head. She glanced up at Maris, who was already preparing another attack, and her smile turned predatory. "Good. I'd be disappointed if you did."

From a distance, Lucan watched the exchange with narrowed eyes. His expression was a mix of confusion and realization as he observed Nyx's movements, her power. Something about her didn't fit—something was wrong.

"This isn't how it's supposed to be…" he muttered, his brow furrowing. He remembered the game—the events that were supposed to unfold. There was supposed to be only one Evil Magician. A single, male figure who would rise and plunge the world into chaos with reckless, thoughtless ambition.

But Nyx was different. She was not only female, but also calculating, strategic. Every move she made was deliberate, every action carefully considered. She wasn't plunging the world into chaos—she was shaping it, gathering powerful allies under her command.

And it wasn't just that. There were supposed to be only one Evil Magicians in existence at any given time—the one who held the title but now… there were three. One was himself, and another one is unknown, or is this Nyx is unknown Evil Magician.

Lucan wondered, his gaze drifting back to the fight unfolding before him. Maris and Nyx were locked in a fierce clash, their movements blurring as they exchanged blows and spells at a dizzying speed.

Maris lashed out with a beam of searing white light, but Nyx countered with a wall of darkness, the two forces clashing violently, sending shockwaves rippling through the air. The ground beneath them cracked and split, the sheer intensity of their power distorting the very fabric of reality.

Above them, the sky darkened as the energy of their battle intensified, and the sun itself seemed to dim, its light struggling to penetrate the oppressive darkness spreading across the battlefield.

And yet… with each passing second, it became clear that Nyx was growing stronger. Every attack Maris launched, every spell she cast, only seemed to fuel Nyx's power. The shadows around her deepened, their presence becoming almost tangible, as if they were feeding off Maris's energy.

"She's adapting," Lucan realized, "She's learning from the Saint's attacks… and using them to make herself stronger."

However, if Nyx got stronger then Maris will also grow stronger.

Maris focus was entirely on Nyx, her gaze unwavering as she continued her relentless assault. And Nyx… Nyx was smiling.

"Is that all you've got, Saint?" Nyx taunted, her voice carrying easily across the battlefield. She deflected another of Maris's attacks, the energy dissipating harmlessly against her barrier of shadows. "I expected more from someone of your reputation."

Maris's expression didn't change, but the aura around her flared with renewed intensity. She raised both hands, and a massive sphere of light formed above her head, growing larger and larger until it dwarfed everything else on the battlefield.

"This ends now," Maris said quietly. Her voice was calm, but there was a finality to it that made even Nyx pause.

Nyx's smile faded slightly as she eyed the sphere of light warily. "Oh? So you're finally getting serious?"

But before Maris could release the spell, Nyx vanished. She reappeared beside Lilith, who had been fending off a renewed assault from Elysia, and grabbed her by the arm.

Lilith blinked, her grin faltering as she looked up at Nyx in confusion. "What the hell are you—"

"We're leaving," Nyx said simply. And before Lilith could protest, Nyx's shadows enveloped them both, and they disappeared, vanishing from the battlefield in the blink of an eye.

"Wait—!" Maris started to say, but it was too late. The spell she had been gathering dispersed harmlessly, the light fading from the sky as she lowered her hands.

A faint voice echoed through the air.

"Don't worry, Saint. We'll meet again… and next time, I'll be ready."

Maris's gaze lingered on the spot where Nyx and Lilith had vanished, her eyes narrowing. Slowly, she turned to look at Elysia, who had landed beside her, her wings still glowing faintly.

"Are you alright?" Elysia asked softly.

Maris nodded once.

Lucan eye's narrowed. He didn't saw the Ancient Ice Dragon, the reason they came here was to stop Nyx to get Ancient Ice Dragon.

However it seemed, again they were late, and Nyx must have gotten the Ancient Ice Dragon.

Lucan had played the DLC and knew that Dark Fairy Queen Lilith, Holy Phoenix Iris, and Ancient Ice Dragon, Bing were powerful.

All three of them were Empire Class, as strong as Maris and himself.

The only reason Maris was able to one hit Holy Phoenix, and almost killed Dark Fairy Queen because Lilith and Iris can't use their full power right now.

Lilith was sealed for centuries, she still didn't had her all power back and Iris was cursed that made her as weak as human baby, it will take time for her to regain her power.

Lucan felt troubled as he thought, in Nyx's team, she have three Empire Class and she herself is Empire Class, while in Lucan's case, only Maris is Empire Class and if he want then he could also be a Empire Class but for that he need to use Evil Magician ability.

"Well... Let's wait and see," Lucan decided.
