37  Chapter37-Extraterrestrial Being! A Visitor from Area 51?!(2rd update, Cheer me with Power Stones!)

Daniel had been waiting for quite some time before the man in charge seemed to even notice his presence.

To get his attention, Rachel had to cough conspicuously, "Ahem!"

At that, the man finally looked up, adjusting his slipping glasses and squinting at Daniel, "So, you're the Daniel?"

With a nod, Daniel confirmed.

"You're pretty remarkable, you know. Not many can get under Benjamin Taylor's skin at such a young age," the man, seeming a bit odd, remarked.

"My name's Frankie Martin. I run things around here."

Rachel, who was standing off to the side, shot Daniel an intrigued look at this revelation.

Impressive folks always have a way of catching a lady's eye.

"As I said, I'm Frankie Martin," the man continued. "Now, show me what you've brought."

Daniel stepped forward, placing his briefcase on the table.

Frankie eyed the briefcase, his nose wrinkling in distaste, "Why does it smell like you dropped it in a toilet?"

Daniel was slightly taken aback.

He'd scrubbed the case multiple times before coming, ensuring there was no trace of smell before he dared bring it here.

Frankie had called him out on it immediately – the man clearly had a keen sense of detail.

"Well, you're not wrong," Daniel confessed, "But I've cleaned it thoroughly, and the contents weren't affected."

As Frankie began to open the briefcase, he said, "No amount of cleaning can get rid of the bacteria now. You'd better ditch this case."

His words were followed by the sight of the green severed finger.

Picking up the bag it was in, he announced, "I'm going to open this."

Daniel simply responded, "By all means."

Frankie Martin added, "An examination like this will inevitably cause some minor damage to the sample."

"No problem," Daniel assured him, "As long as it doesn't disappear entirely, do whatever you need to do."

Satisfied, Frankie nodded. "Alright, then. Be prepared to wait an hour or two."

"Understood," Daniel responded.

Bio-examinations are notoriously complex, potentially requiring several days if necessary.

Frankie's timeframe of an hour or two seemed surprisingly swift.

Noticing Frankie Martin was busily starting his work with Rachel assisting, Daniel excused himself from the office and found a seat in the corridor.

He pulled out his phone and launched his livestream.

"Streamer, you're back!"

"We thought you weren't going live today, glad we waited!"

"Hey Streamer, where are you?"

Daniel angled his phone to capture the corridor wall, prominently featuring the Golden Shores Police Department emblem.

"No way, Streamer! What'd you do to end up at a police department?"

"Did you land in trouble for talking about aliens? Was it considered hate speech?"

"Streamer, no worries! Unless you get the death sentence, we'll wait for you to keep streaming."

"Stay free, Daniel! We've got your back!"

Laughing, Daniel responded, "You guys are hilarious. Even in Los Santos, I wait for the traffic lights to cross the road. I'm hardly about to break the law."

"We get it, Streamer. A real upstanding citizen!"

"If you're comparing to Los Santos, Streamer must've done something big."

"What'd you do, jack a car or rob a bank?"

In response, Daniel aimed his camera at the office doorplate.

"Golden Shores Police Department's Bio-Exam Department?"

"You're actually getting that finger tested?"

"Streamer, don't tell us you believe it's an alien's finger!"

Daniel, not offering much explanation, simply replied, "You'll know the results in two hours."

The viewers were left gobsmacked, it seemed Streamer was dead serious.

Meanwhile, in the lab.

Frankie Martin set about his work, placing the cut skin tissue into different instruments, chemical solutions, and under an electronic microscope.

Multiple processes were running in parallel.

While waiting for instrument results and chemical reactions, he was peering into the microscope.

Minutes later, he jolted upright, eyes wide in disbelief.

A puzzled Rachel inquired, "What's up, Frankie?"

Eyes glued to the electronic screen, Frankie muttered in shock, "This... How is this possible?!"

"I need to make a call!"

His hands shaking slightly, he picked up the phone and dialed a number.

"Listen to me, get over here now!"

"We've got a serious situation!"

Daniel, sitting comfortably on a sofa, was browsing through risqué posts from beautiful women on TwistTweets.

Just as he was about to cheekily comment about taking a bite, a group of people dashed into the corridor, hurrying into Frankie's lab.

A smirk tugged at Daniel's lips.

It looked like the results were imminent.

The lab was bustling with people, everyone squeezed around the electronic screen.

"Frankie Martin, are you certain?" someone questioned. "Could this be some sort of hoax, something fabricated for shock value?"

Frankie didn't bother with a verbal response. Instead, he simply vacated his spot. "See for yourselves."

The group exchanged skeptical glances before clustering together for a closer look.

Any trace of levity quickly vanished from their faces, replaced by increasing solemnity.

"Who brought this finger in?"

"Where's the guy?"

Glancing around, Frankie realized Daniel had left the room. "He was here a moment ago, where did he go?"

"I'll check outside," Rachel volunteered hastily.

The moment she opened the door, she found Daniel casually lounging in the corridor. "Daniel, come in!"

Daniel stood up, addressing his streaming viewers, "Guys, brace yourselves. The real deal is about to begin."

Entering the office, Daniel felt the intense scrutiny of numerous pairs of eyes.

A gathering of older gentlemen was staring right at him.

"Hello there, I'm Daniel," he greeted.

A relatively shorter old man responded first, "Daniel, I'm Eric, a biologist."

Daniel understood that by calling himself a biologist, Eric meant much more than merely his academic degree.

"I'd like to know where you acquired this finger," Eric inquired.

"I'm a professional treasure hunter," Daniel responded, "I found it in a shipping container at Golden Shores Port."

"Did you find any other parts apart from this finger?" Eric probed further.

Daniel remembered that the system's appraisal price for the finger was on par with the initial market value of the container, so there likely wasn't anything missing.

After some thought, he responded, "No."

Upon receiving his answer, disappointment was apparent on the faces of the scholars.

Daniel, indifferent to their reactions, got straight to the point.

"So, can we conclude that this finger belongs to an extraterrestrial being?"

The room filled with hesitant glances until finally Frankie Martin broke the silence, "What we can say for sure is that this finger belongs to a non-Earth life form."

As those words left Frankie's lips, Daniel's livestream chat exploded.

"Holy smokes!!"

"Did I just hear that right?"

"Non-Earth life form?"

"So, the finger is from an alien?!!"

"What on earth did I just witness?"

"We've witnessed history! Solid proof of extraterrestrial existence!"

"You struck gold, streamer! This is beyond belief!"

"Hold on, you guys are believing this just like that?"

"Yeah, maybe all these are actors hired by the streamer. He'd do anything for clout."

"Actors, you've got to be kidding! Do you even know who these people are?"

"Frankie Martin, a biologist from Libertopia, a doctoral advisor at the National University, and a Nobel laureate in Biology! Eric, also a Libertopia biologist, a doctoral advisor in Biology at the National University, twice nominated for the Nobel prize in Biology! And the other few, they are all top-notch figures in the world of biology! Do you think the streamer could afford to hire them as actors? Do you think he's worth it?"

This explanation from a viewer immediately solidified the authenticity of the situation.

Daniel, however, was caught between laughter and tears.

Although the comment was defending him, the words stung a little bit.

What do they mean he's not worth it?

Well, fair enough.

Snippets from the livestream were quickly cut and made into videos, then uploaded onto various video platforms.

In no time, they spread across the world wide web like wildfire.

Billions of people worldwide were stunned.

There really were aliens in this world!

After staying in the lab for half an hour, listening to Frankie Martin and other biologists explain the uniqueness of the severed finger, Daniel made an excuse and, under the reluctant gaze of the older men, left the office.

While waiting for the elevator, he chatted idly with Rachel.

At that moment, the elevator arrived.

The moment the doors slid open, it revealed a group of men dressed in black and wearing sunglasses.

A chill ran down Daniel's spine; something felt wrong.

One of the men in black approached Daniel and said, "Mr. Daniel, please come with us."

Resistant, Daniel asked, "Where to?"

The man in black replied, "Area 51."
