Chapter 30: More Than Meets The Eye
Chapter 30: More Than Meets The Eye
—bang!!
Leon drew Anan with the chain and smashed his face in with his feet with just one pull.
"Good night princess" Leon said mockingly. Anan thought he could win over Leon with his magic spells, his outlook on what power really was, was lacking.
Magical spells weren't enough, the ability to use them wisely also mattered a lot. Having one and not the other was begging for failure.
"I really need to get one" Leon mused while looking at Anan's body on the floor. He hadn't been able to get any fighting spell throughout his stay in this camp. It was about time he got one. If not, he might end up like Anan soon.
"Hm?" Leon raised his head and his eyes fell on the light show out in the darkness. There Arian was currently engaging in a heated battle with several opponents, and she was in a bad situation.
"Hmmmm" Leon couldn't help but muse on how prideful Arian was. Even though she was surrounded, she didn't seem like she was planning to escape. Leon couldn't wrap his head around why this was the case.
She was pretty smart, so why would she risk her life like that?
At the same time on the other side
—Slash!!
"Hu, hu ,hu" Arian could be seen breathing heavily. On her side, a part of her clothes had been ripped, and she looked exhausted. Fighting against this brute was one thing, but with the constant interference of Anan's cronies, made it infinitely harder.
"Give up and become my bitch. I promise to please you all night until I'm bored with you" opposite Arian the brutish man mocked Arian. This felt good, he could remember how Arian destroyed his face before and there was nothing her could do about it. But now things were different.
He had the upper hand now.
"Ptuu, Dorian, you are full of yourself," Arian spat at the floor. From their exchange, she was able to quickly identify who the person in front of her was. He was Dorian, a leacherous bastard that tried to court her a while ago. When she turned him down, he resulted to cursing her family then she attacked him out of fury.
This, of course, created an Air of hate between them. She didn't want to lose to this guy no matter what.

"Hmp!! You don't have a choice, I'm going to enjoy breaking you apart..." Dorian said with a sly smile on his face. He was going to go all out.
—Dang!!
He swung his mighty great sword into the ground and entered a fighting pose. Arian responded in kind and soon....
—woosh!!
They were at it once again. With the first swing, Dorian threatened to cut Arian in two, but she was nimble and managed to dodge it, to which she then responded with a kick directly to Dorian's knees.
"Arg!!" It landed, and Dorian stepped back and groaned in pain. Arian followed up with a causal swing to Dorian's neck, but she was blocked by an invisible force emitting from him.
This was a defense spell and was what Dorian was known for, he was called the tank of tamlin because he could take massive attacks without being injured. All this was because of his defense skills.
—Boom!!
After Arain's attack failed, Dorian swung his sword once again, pushing her back by up to 10 meters.
"A$$hole!!" Arian complained while rubbing off a trace of blood from her lips.
As she was doing this, a chain in the darkness coiled forwards, aiming directly for her sword.
—Woosh
—woosh
—Woosh
The chains were numerous and each seemed to threaten to restrict several important parts of her body.
(, I can't let myself be held down by these guys)
Arian complained before moving dexterously Dodging the attacks with every fiber of her being.
This was very exhausting and hard. Not only did she need to keep dodging, she had to be wary of Dorian, who was stalking her Constantly.
(Do I really need to escape?)
With an incredibly worried look on her face, Arian frowned her brows. She dreaded the thought of running away with her tails between her legs.
—Clang!!
While she was contemplating her next step, a chain that was previously barreling towards her fell to the floor abruptly.
"Hm?" Arian looked at the direction from which the chain was coming from, only to see the faint silhouette of a skinny young man hovering over one of Anan's cronies.
"It's him" Arian looked puzzled
Why on earth was Leon helping her? This was the perfect chance for him to run off. She wouldn't be able to follow him even if she tried, but he was helping her?
Of course, Leon had his reasons she probably wouldn't understand, but Leon knew exactly what he was doing.
—woosh
Leon's silhouette flashed as he headed for the second chain user. One by one he was going to cut them all down, leaving Arian enough room to handle Dorian.

Deep inside the forest.
Four elderly figures stood atop a tree in the middle of the forest, spectating the fight in front of them.
Among them were the Elders of the tamlin group that oversaw Leon and Arians trial as for the last person.
It was an old man around their age. However, it seemed like he had aged worse than all three, as the skin on his bodies had many more wrinkles than the rest.
"It's possible," one of the elders commented as he watched the battle in front.
They all questioned Leon's ability to defeat Fryan Dlariss, but seeing what he did to Anan. They understood that he was no joke. If he was at level 1 before he engaged Fryan in battle, Fryan would be dead.
"Good, they're both strong enough. They shall come along with me" the wrinkly elder said.
"Yes....it seems so" Sighing with some regret, the elder in the lead looked at Arian with pity. It would have been better if she were weak in this battle, or even if she ran away.
But the level of strength she showed meant she would have to participate in the old bastards schemes.
"Good, I want the warlock to come along too. He will make a good bargaining chip" the wrinkly man said with a twisted smile on his face.
Only the gods knew what was going through his mind.

Meanwhile, back at the battlefield, Arian had succeeded in laying out Dorian and had rendezvoused with Leon.
"What do we do with these guys?" Leon asked Arian from the side.
There had to be a way to stop them from attacking them on a whim. If not, their lives would become a living hell with these guys constantly pestering them.
"The disciplinary committee will work on them" Arian said.
They were rules, she was given community service for nearly fighting. These guys would face a worse punishment for attacking them.
Of course, they would have to get them to camp first for that to succeed.
But before they could....
—Woosh!!!
A shadow sped past them in the blink of an eye and picked Anan and Dorian up before flying into the forest.
"That....."
Arian looked at the shadow with some shock.
Flight!! A level 3 hunter/mage had just acted.
It seemed like this was much more complicated than it seemed
