Chapter 33 – It should be fine to share a bed… right? (2)

Ruan Qiuqiu actually really wanted to take a shower or bath. But right now, that facility wasn’t available. Besides, she would feel embarrassed doing so in front of Mr. Gray Wolf even if he was unconscious. And so, after washing her face, Ruan Qiuqiu simply wiped her body with a moistened animal skin.

Of course, this was after she covered up Mr. Gray Wolf’s eyes again.

The rest of the water was used to wash her feet.

It was only when her feet came into contact with the warm water that Ruan Qiuqiu found out the reason why her feet weren’t hurting. It was because they had been frozen to the point of losing sensation.

Now that her feet were slightly warmed up, the return of sensation came with stabs of pain and itchiness. She almost couldn’t breath.

The soles of her feet were caked with dried blood. Once that washed off, she could see the bluish-purple color of her feet. Her feet resembled two swollen hooves.

Ruan Qiuqiu: “…”

She suddenly felt that Mr. Gray Wolf’s stump didn’t look that ugly.

Ruan Qiuqiu sighed. She really needed a pair of shoes.

She put the wooden basin away, wrapped a large animal skin around herself, stepped into the tattered animal skins that served as makeshift shoes, and hobbled her way to the stone bed.

Ruan Qiuqiu carefully got onto the stone bed from the edges and didn’t touch Mr. Gray Wolf, who was lying on the outer part of the bed.

She was using one of the large animal skin she had brought with her as the sheet for the stone bed. That large animal skin was stitched together from several pieces of animal skin. It was mostly light brown and the length and width were about two meters.

She didn’t know what kind of stone this bed was made from. The stone was big enough that the animal skin couldn’t fully cover it. That was fine though, it meant that she and Mr. Gray Wolf had plenty of distance between them while they slept on the same bed.

She didn’t actually want to share a bed with a husband that she had just met. Moreover, her husband was a demon.

However, this cave only had one bed. Even if he had told her to keep one meter away from him, he was unconscious right now. It should be fine to share a bed… right?

The stone bed was much warmer than the cave walls. Laying on the slightly furry animal skin, it was warm enough.

Once Ruan Qiuqiu found a comfortable spot to lie down, she adjusted the animal skin she had wrapped around herself. Finally, she felt a bit recovered.

Although she tried her best, it was impossible to pretend there wasn’t a wolf demon lying next to her.

Ruan Qiuqiu slowly turned her head and glimpsed Mr. Gray Wolf’s long eyelashes. They look golden from the light of the fire. His eyelashes cast a motley shadow on his handsome face. His long, black hair was lying on the light brown animal skin underneath them. His slightly round nose and pale lips made his scary face look rather young and fragile.

From this perspective, he didn’t look like he could have been a cold and ruthless chief that was high above others. On the contrary, he looked like a helpless and too-young-to-know-better wolf that had lost everything.

“Good night, Mr. Gray Wolf,” Ruan Qiuqiu quietly said those words, then silently turned her back to the gray wolf that was already her husband in name. Closing her tired eyes, she continued to think about the future.

They still had some food left – about 20 catties of dried meat and 9 catties of tuber powder. They had enough firewood for half a month. She was using up the animal skins very quickly. The one she had been wearing as clothes had been turned into a curtain to block the wind, and she was using the other large piece as a bed sheet.

Of the ten animal skins that the tribe had given her, one had gotten dirty and another piece had been torn apart to bandage Mr. Gray Wolf’s injuries with the scraps set aside as makeshift towels. There were eight pieces left.

Of those eight pieces, three were being used as blankets.

Because Mr. Gray Wolf was so tall, he needed two pieces to cover up his upper body to his still intact right foot.

She couldn’t waste the last five pieces of animal skins. She planned on using them to make clothes.Chapter 33 – It should be fine to share a bed… right? (2)
