Chapter 274: Spider Sense’s Fear

Chapter 274: Spider Sense’s Fear

However, Wanda sensed that the hunter was not acting alone but was part of a group.

Moreover, Wanda perceived that there seemed to be a totem of fate behind the hunters, and she sensed that this group might pose a crisis not only to the current main universe, the real world, but also to the multiverse at large.

The term "multiverse crisis" suggests a crisis that spreads across multiple universes, where no universe would be spared.

The result would be destruction and collapse.

Even the main universe would be affected.

Thus, Wanda chose not to eliminate the hunter but instead decided to implant a magical tracking mark deep within the hunter's soul at the first opportunity. Wanda believed that she would be able to sense it no matter which dimension the hunter was in.

However, as soon as the hunter disappeared, the magical tracking mark she implanted was immediately severed.

This made Wanda realize that the dimension or world in which the group resided was not simply another dimension, but rather a deeper, more mysterious space.

Wanda had never been one to be driven by curiosity.

But this time, Wanda was genuinely intrigued, or perhaps, after a period of inactivity, she felt that this could be a test—a trial for the young ones she had been training in her sanctuary.

After all, she, Bella, Pietro, and Bi Xiao were always there to provide support from behind.

The only problem was finding those people first.

Bella noticed Wanda's thoughts: "That space is quite peculiar, but it shouldn't erase your magical tracking mark. When they hunt again, you should be able to sense it."

Wanda nodded.

"I didn't expect that behind a superhero, there would be something involving the multiverse. I underestimated him."

As she spoke, she turned to look at the source of a robbery on the street. Spider-Man, Peter Parker, was already fighting the criminals. From her perspective, it seemed as trivial as child's play.

With a flash of red in her eyes, she effortlessly neutralized a bullet fired at a mother with a child, completely disintegrating it.

Meanwhile, Spider-Man, who was still in the midst of the battle and had noticed the mother's danger, was startled when the bullet suddenly vanished. Without time to ponder, he continued fighting the vicious criminals.

Spider-Man, Peter Parker, hadn't been in action for long, but due to his enhanced mutation, his spider sense, with its heightened instincts and reflexes, allowed him to handle battles with ease.

After spending some time, he easily subdued the criminals, wrapping them tightly in spider webs and hanging them from a streetlamp.

As the situation was resolved, the police arrived hurriedly, while Spider-Man shot a web and swiftly left the scene. However, he jumped to the top of the tallest building in the area and stood on the edge, looking in another direction.

The direction that had filled him with unease.

Initially, when Spider-Man, Peter Parker, saw the robbery report on TV at home, he quickly donned his suit and rushed to the scene. As he swung through the air, his spider sense detected an inexplicable terror and danger.

In that instant, he knew that someone was watching him, and the owners of those gazes were terrifying—so terrifying that his body almost froze, nearly causing him to plummet to the ground as he swung above the skyscrapers.

Fortunately, those gazes withdrew after a brief moment, and since he was more concerned about the situation, he steeled himself and headed to the scene, focused on resolving the battle. During the fight, one of the criminals fired a bullet at a mother with a child.

At that moment, Peter gritted his teeth, knowing he was too late and could only watch helplessly as a tragedy was about to unfold. But to his surprise, the bullet suddenly vanished.

If he hadn't seen it with his own eyes, he might have thought it was an illusion.

From this, Peter Parker realized that there were two extremely powerful and terrifying beings not far away, also observing the situation, watching him.

Peter Parker crouched at the edge of the rooftop, his mind unsettled under the spider mask.

Based on the rescue just now, the other party seemed to belong to the side of good, but they were so powerful that someone with Peter's acute senses felt his body stiffen just from a glance. Peter wondered if he would suffer a heart attack if he ever faced them directly.

Yet Peter was also intensely curious.

This conflicting mindset left him indecisive.

But he didn't need to be indecisive for long, because soon, Peter Parker felt the tension in his muscles and nerves suddenly relax, and the overwhelming pressure seemed to dissipate.

Peter immediately realized that they had left.

So, he shot out his web and leaped across several streets, landing near the top of a glass-covered building. Clinging to the glass with one hand and both feet, he glanced down at the street below.

He saw people bustling about and vehicles passing by.

And he saw two empty chairs at a café table on the street, with freshly finished coffee cups on the table.

Although the people were gone, the lingering aura of terror at that spot made him realize that those two terrifying beings had just been sitting there, watching him.

Peter Parker silently turned his head to glance around.

The tall buildings of several streets blocked his view, yet those two powerful beings had been watching him from that very spot, seemingly able to see through the buildings directly at him.

"Unbelievable. Oh my God, who could they be?"

"This is making my skin crawl."

"Are they gods? Demons? Or some kind of extraterrestrial beings?"

"Could they pose a danger to Earth? Just thinking about it gives me a headache."

Peter Parker nervously muttered to himself, feeling goosebumps rise all over his body. But after a moment's thought and taking a deep breath, he decided to leave the area.
