Chapter 1423: Take This Responsibility
"You sure are good at talking," said Hyson as he shook his head tiredly. "I am so done with you two."
"Then why don't you get lost?" Raelle raised her brow at him. "Learn to read the room. Why do you always have to act like the third wheel between the two of us?"
Hyson gave her a displeased look, "Even Xian Ge doesn't mind. What the hell is wrong with you? I thought we were like a package."
"Package of buy one and get one free?"
"Exactly!"
Raelle pinched his ear and Hyson screamed as he tried to slap her hand but wasn't able to do so.
"Let go first and talk civilly."
"Don't want to."
"You always used words to reason. Why are you getting violent now? This isn't a good habit, Ellie."
"You used to tell me that having bad habits is fun. So, I'm gonna pick some bad habits now too."
Hyson groaned, "I smashed my own foot, eh?"
"It's not the first time. You must be quite used to it by now."
Hyson rolled his eyes at her, "Let go. I'll stop being the third wheel."
Raelle thought about it and in a half-believing state, she let him go. Hyson rubbed his ear that felt like it was gonna pulled off by her. She really showed no mercy to even her own best friend. Cruel! Heartless!

"It's easy for you to make me stop being the third wheel. All you have to do is to give me a niece or nephew. I promise if I even looked at you again you can change my name."
Both Raelle and Shui Xian stared at him when he said this and then looked at each other.
"Are you saying that you are gonna forget your best friend once I have a child? That's betrayal."
Hyson huh-ed at her, "Says the person who betrayed me first for this guy beside her. I also have to return this favor, no?"
"Why would I give my child to you? Are you gonna raise my child for me?"
"You won't have time for him anyway," retorted Hyson. "You'd be at the office busy with your work; your first love. Then you'd give the rest of the time to your second love that is Xian Ge. Now, where is the time for my dear niece or nephew? Of course, I'll have to step in."
"Why would I need you to step in?"
"Because that child would be my first love unlike you who will put him in the third place in your heart. So, am I not a better choice?"
"If you are so eager to raise a child, go and give birth to one yourself!"
Hyson gave her a bizarre look, "That's not possible."
"Why? Are you that incompetent?" Raelle put a hand over her mouth as she gasped in mock shock, "I now understand why you refuse to date. You are just incapable. Tsk. Poor you. Why didn't you tell me this before? I won't laugh at your flaws. I am not that mean. At least, I'd have become your support. In such a situation, one needs all the support that is available."
Hyson's lips twitched while Shui Xian turned his back to them and covered his mouth with his hands. He didn't want to laugh out loud right now but he really couldn't hold back and burst out laughing.
Hyson glared at Shui Xian who was trying hard to suppress his laughter right now but was finding it more than just difficult to do so. It was always fun whenever his wife started talking especially when she talked to Hyson.
"Remember I gave you some advice once."
"What?"
"Buy a good filter for that mouth of yours," replied Hyson through gritted teeth. "You need it badly."
Raelle flipped her hair saying, "And I told you even back then that once you invent such a filter, I'd buy it. But until then, just deal with it."
Hyson raised his hands as if he wanted to strangle her but sadly couldn't do so. He gave her one last look saying, "I am even more concerned of you raising a child. What if you turned the child into someone like you? One Raelle Xiang is already too difficult for people. I don't think the earth would be able to bear the weight of two."
Raelle gave him a look, "Are you leaving or not? I also don't want my child to inherit your dramatics."
"What is wrong with dramatics?" Said Hyson and walked away. He did not want to even look at her. She even said he was incompetent. Hyson looked down saying to himself, "I'm perfectly healthy. How am I incapable? She really doesn't know how to talk."
"That was harsh," said Shui Xian as he put his hands on Raelle's shoulders.
"He wanted to steal my child."
"How is that even possible?" Shui Xian didn't know what to say. He would only say that these kids really hadn't grown up at all. They were finding faults with each other everywhere. But if it was someone else saying a word against Hyson, then Raelle would be the first one to strike.
It could be seen from the fact that he learned after taking over the Music company that Hyson's PR team was outsourced. And apparently, whoever maliciously speculated about him online or spread rumors and gossip about him, that person would get a lawyer's letter. He found it actually funny to see how seriously Raelle took Hyson's matters.
So many people online said that she was rude, mean, a witch, or whatnot but she paid no attention to it at all. But even if someone called Hyson ugly, she would sue them for it. She really had different standards.
"What are you thinking about?" questioned Raelle when she noticed that Shui Xian seemed to be lost in thought right now.
"It's nothing much," replied Shui Xian. "I was just thinking that you have double standards when it comes to Hyson."
Raelle didn't refute those words as she knew this truth very well. But so what if she had double standards? No matter how annoying he was, he was her only best friend.
"Let's go back inside," said Shui Xian. "We should see if our stuff is packed and the get ready to leave."
"Oh," Raelle agreed and followed him in. Before she could go back up, someone brought her some tea to digest. Raelle knew who must have ordered it. Who else it be if not Mu Chenyan? She was one of the people who was very clear about her appetite so she must have noticed that she ate more than usual.
Raelle didn't refuse it and took the cup. Then she went upstairs back to her bedroom and sat down to drink her tea. On the side, Shui Xian was going through their suitcases to see if anything was missing. Raelle really didn't understand why he had to do this stuff on his own. And why did he insist on carrying so much luggage?
Couldn't they just buy something if it was missing? Why go through this hassle? But since he was willing to do it all on his own, she wasn't foolish enough to go and stop him either. Forget it, as long as he was happy.
And surprisingly, he was really happy. Raelle didn't know why but Shui Xian's smile didn't drop even for a moment as he hummed a tune and continued to pack their things. Raelle in comparison looked like the real boss who was sipping tea and directing her employee to run around for errands. Discover hidden content at mvl
"Do you want to take anything else?" asked Shui Xian.
Raelle looked at him intently and inquired, "Can I take some books?"
"Why?"
"To pass the time?"
"Are you saying that being with me is boring? So that's why you'd need the company of books instead?"
Raelle gave him a look and sighed, "No, I didn't say that. Fine. No books."
Shui Xian came to her side and caressed her head, "Good job! It's just a month. You can surely live without books. I will make sure of that."
Raelle slumped down and hummed in response making Shui Xian chuckle at her reaction. He went back to packing the bags while Raelle looked reluctantly at the books that she just received two days ago and hadn't gotten the chance to read them. Her eyes just couldn't move away from those books on her desk.
She had remind herself to just let it go. To reduce her reluctance, she looked at Shui Xian again. Yes, this view was better. If she took the books, he'd be sad. That'd only make her feel upset, right? So, why bother? Let's just keep him happy as that was her responsibility as a wife.
Anyway, she wanted to take this responsibility.
"Okay, all done."
"Did you pack everything?"
"Well, I think so," replied Shui Xian. "I don't think I missed anything but even if we did, we'll just handle it later. Don't worry about it. I'm here."
Raelle smiled at him and nodded, "Okay. I'll be in your care now, Mr. Shui."
"I'll do my best to serve you well, Mrs. Shui."
