Chapter 224: Yuri's genius
A young boy ran through the woods, several adults chasing after him with torches and weapons in hand.
They shouted:
"Kill him!"
"Surround him!"
"His mindset is too disgusting. Kill him!"
Mark squinted.
The boy cried as he ran, a butcher's knife in hand dripping with blood.
He screamed: "I didn't do anything! Because of you bastards, I had to kill a human being! I became a murderer because you came to kill me!"
They surrounded the boy.
"You deserve to die boy!" One of them, old as a tree, screeched. "You had evil intentions in your heart. When you drank too much alcohol for a boy, you said all those intentions out loud!"
"So what?!" The boy screamed. "It was just the delirious ramblings of a drunken boy!"
"Humph! What drunken boy says they want to rape, murder, and torture the gentlest girl of our village. You said you wanted to eat her flesh while she was alive!"
The boy paled. "So-so what? It was just my—"

"Shut up! You don't have to talk anymore!"
Mark looked down from the sky, golden eyes reflecting the burning torches at night. Against the moon, he was a winged silhouette that radiated grace and power. The people surrounding the boy—about 15 or 16—wanted to burn him to death, he assumed.
Just as the people began moving, suddenly, something happened and the boy vanished. They all stared in disbelief, and then, felt themselves pale as they looked up to see a demon flying away.
The demon had the young boy hanging from his hand.
Mark stopped far away and threw the boy down. He looked up, stared at Mark in horror.
"De-Demon!" The boy jumped backwards.
Mark took the boy by his collar and slammed him against a tree.
He asked curiously, "Your thoughts are indeed disgusting, don't you feel ashamed?"
The boy was stunned for a while, then asked, "I am like you, too, demon! I have disgusting, evil thoughts in my head all the time. I am a psychopath!
"It's true, I deserve to die. Demon, kill me!"
Mark couldn't help but crack a laugh. "You have evil thoughts at heart, yet your true wish is to be a heroic man. Your true nature is against your wish, and that makes you afraid."
The boy gulped.
Mark asked. "But who cares about true nature and the thoughts that run across your mind?"
He shrugged, poured a bottle of golden liquid down the boy's mouth.
"Even if you have thoughts that you don't like in your mind, it's fine. Just ignore them. You are not your thoughts, but the decider of what thought becomes action. Don't be too caught up on that."
He watched as the boy writhed. As a mask grew over his face. As he became a Golden Savage and regained his face. He even gained golden hair and a third eye.
Even after a while, he didn't explode either and with his Soul Sense, Mark soon found the piece of World Will inside him too.
Indeed, the boy had successfully become a Golden Savage.
And Mark could now guess, with a high probability of being true, that if he used the Heart Blood on the people of the Savage World, it would work.
Mark assumed. But my goal is to make Yuri into a Golden Savage.
Her genetics are different from a human in the first place—she is a Hunter. So, this might be a bit complicated.
Entering his World Space with half his attention still outside, he discussed the new discoveries with Yuri and in a second, her beautiful eyes grew bright.
She laughed softly.
"I have a roadmap of what to do!" She exclaimed. "I am pretty sure I can become a Golden Savage if I follow my idea, but I'd need to do a bit more research."
Mark nodded and came out of his World Space. He stared at the boy before him with a calm expression.
The boy opened his eyes after a few minutes, felt the power in his body. He was surprised. He stood up, clenched his fist to make air explode.
"So… so much power!" he said. Then, he kicked at a tree near him and the tree exploded into bits and pieces.
He went berserk. Destroyed the ground and uprooted trees. Exclaimed in happiness.
Then, he turned and stared at Mark.
"I don't care if you are a demon or a ghost, with this power, I can do everything I've ever wanted!" The boy laughed. "Little Mimi can't do anything against me, the adults can't stop me from doing what I want."
Mark blinked.
"I can rape, pillage, kill and torture as much as I want!" The boy laughed, then roared as his Mask of the Savage came out. "Wait there, I can kill you too!"
His even more improved strength made the boy delirious!
Mark sighed.
His claws tore into the boy's heart, his other hand gripped the mask to dust. Taking out the thumping heart, he turned it into a container of heart blood and stored it back in his World Space.
The boy's body fell with a thump.
With a flap of his wings, Mark left.
He might have healed the boy with his Alchemic Shapeshifting in the past, but no longer would he leave behind such unnecessary trouble.
He had a Suffering of Man coming his way. Who says the boy wouldn't bring trouble in the future? If not as a Suffering, in some other way?
And he found himself thinking.
Sometimes, the thoughts did transform a man. If they always thought they were a psychopath, even if they kept it hidden from others, they would become a psychopath. One had to control their thoughts and move them in a good direction.
But one should never be controlled by their thoughts.
Mark had better things to focus on. Yuri, his homely little genius of a scientist, had found a way to become a Golden Savage.
Landing on a safe cliff top, he entered his World Space. Yuri was deep in thought, Reol'ran had vanished, and Dona was laying on a couch, staring at the ceiling.
When Yuri came out of her thoughts, he asked: "What's your chance of success?"
"If everything goes well, it should succeed," she replied.
Mark smirked, patted her head.
