Mind Demon's Path of Domination

Chapter 249 In a Bind

The distant noise of clinking chains awoke Ryan; his eyes snapped open. There was a mound of mud over his body, and it felt heavy. Luckily though, no mud had seeped into his nose or eyes when his main body hid him in the mud here, he had been cautious.

Demon World, the weird place with chains, he thought silently.

Clink. Clink.

Feeling a slight sense of awe at the sounds of the chain, he looked up. Frozen in his spot, he stared. True giants, chained up and walking under the serene moonlight. It was a sight to behold—a sight that sent eccentric chills down his spine.

Their masculine figures, bathed with a might of ancient power far stronger than even his main body's. Yet all of them were chained like they were some sort of slaves bound to this place for the rest of eternity.

What is the mystery of this place? Ryan wondered.

He stood up and looked around without making a sound. Being just a Dream Gambler's Mortal Puppet, he was as weak as a mortal now. In fact, due to being so small—as small as a fly—he was even weaker than a mortal human.

It was true that condensing one's size made a person stronger than being uselessly bigger, but being this small made things quite irritating.

No matter what, if a human slapped him like they would slap a mosquito, he'd die. He needed to find a way to gain some powers, and he should also get out of this chain land as soon as possible.

Of course, he had wings and claws that a human wouldn't have.

If I leave, I can enter Other Worlds as a Tier 0 Demonling. Maybe, enter some super weak world.

Slowly, he flew with the white wings behind him. Seeing something, he stared into the distance. The demons who had participated in the auction with Mark were all near that ominous tree again, and that made Ryan's eyes shine.

But he didn't dare go closer to them for now.

He knew the dangers.

Some kind of chains crawled out of the ground last time I went close. It pierced my main body, he analyzed. It sucked off the vitality I had, and if it weren't for the Black Water reserves in my World Space, I would have been in trouble.

But that was the main body, this Puppet was not that strong or versatile right now. He couldn't afford to be hurt by the chains, not to mention the demons. He had to stay hidden. Until he either found a way out or gained enough strength while in there.

He soon reached another mound of mud and using his tiny hands, rubbed away some of the mud. Underneath, there was a small vial of golden blood. A resource that Mark had aplenty.

If he drank the contents in it, his base strength would directly become Tier 2 Pinnacle level.

Just as Ryan was contemplating whether to drink it or stay weak—so that he could find some other opportunity to grow stronger—he froze. The vial was surrounded by a thin vine of deep green color.

The glass had thin cracks and the liquid had seeped out, getting slowly absorbed by the vines. When he stared more clearly, he noticed that it was no vines—it was a green chain.

Fuck!

With all the speed he could muster, Ryan stumbled backward and kept moving without a stop. Adrenaline rushed through him, and he could almost feel his bones chill. He even regretted his decision to let a Puppet remain here for a second.

If the Puppet died before the Dream Gamble was completed, his main body would also die!

In the Star Fever World, Mark came to a grinding halt in midair. A violet screen shimmered through his mind, and he gritted his teeth as he looked around. He was surrounded by enemy flying ships, and snipers aimed at him from all sides.

Eyes cold, he looked at the violet screen.

The vial I left behind got eaten by the chains? He twisted his neck to the side, avoiding a particularly powerful bullet. Is it due to my bad luck?

[The Dream Gamble—Ryan]n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

[Dream: Dance to some good music.]

[Conditions]

Successfully complete the Dream.

[Warning]

Do not let the Puppet—Ryan—die while the Dream Gamble is live, or the main body will also die.

[Success Reward: You can take any one thing from Ryan as your own]

[Failure Price: Ryan can take any one thing from you of his choice as his own.]

Mark waved his hand and the screen vanished. With a quick dip, he fell into the clouds and smirked as he landed atop a small, hidden ship. He sank his hand into the hull and with wild laughter, tore the entire metal off.

A Star Monkey stared at him with wide eyes from inside.

"What is your race's population?" Mark asked.

Heart Input!

"I-I don't know!" The Monkey stuttered. "I am just a pilot!"

Mark slammed his fists into the creature's head and flew off once again, a small flying ship falling behind him. Luckily, the chain hadn't attacked his Puppet. He was cursed with bad luck, but it didn't seem to be completely deadly.

As of now, at least.

In the Demon World, Ryan heaved a sigh of relief. The Golden Savage Heart Blood had been lost, so his easy way to strengthen himself was also gone. Yet, it was fine. As long as he lived, he'd find a way.

He was in the Demon World, there must be opportunities here which he could take advantage of. His current stats, which he had read about the Puppet when the main body was here, flashed through his mind.

Physique: 0.1

Mind: 0.1

No Resistances, no Demonic Tricks, no Bloodlines, no way to grow stronger. Not even Soul Devouring.

Suddenly, a creeping sense of desolation entered Mark's heart and both he and his Puppet, Ryan, looked around while sweating.

He should have left a Seal of Destiny for the Puppet before he left!

Who knew the Golden Blood would get eaten?

What was he to do now?

No powers, as small as a fly—in the Demon. Fucking. World.
