Chapter 417 - You Are All Leaving So Soon?
Chapter 417 – You Are All Leaving So Soon?
Elizabeth followed her almost immediately.
When Jasmine reached downstairs, she met the three men talking. She was so relieved to see that they were talking normally unlike how she imagined.
Elizabeth on reaching where Jasmine stood nudged Jasmine by the side.
"See, you were worrying for nothing," Elizabeth said on seeing the men chatting.
"You are right about that," Jasmine said in low tones just like Elizabeth did.
"Although our father is pretending to get along with him we can let him keep the guys here for a long time. Don't forget the others must be waiting for us to arrive now," Jasmine said in a serious tone.
"So what do you suggest we do now?" Elizabeth asked. She made sure others didn't hear what they were talking about.
"What else if not to get our men out of here. I know father and I might get into an argument if I said we have to leave now so I will have to rely on you to get us out of here," Jasmine said in a meek tone. Elizabeth focused all her attention on her father after hearing Jasmine suggestion.

"Dad, we would have loved to spend some more time with you but we all have other arrangements so we have to leave now," Elizabeth said in a polite tone. Jasmine wasn't surprised to see that her father didn't look angry but she also didn't take his reaction to heart.
"You all are leaving so soon?" Mrs Avans asked not able to look away from Jackson now standing up.
"Mother, we all made arrangements before we came here so we can't stay any longer but I promise to come to visit you and father soon," Alfred said as he also stood up and went to meet his woman.
"Same here, I will come often to see Auntie and uncle," Jackson said with smiles.
"That's right, father. Brother-in-law and I…,"
"I haven't accepted him as my son-in-law so you can't address him as such. He is not part of our family until he has earned the right to be so," Mr Avans corrected Alfred.
"You are right father, he is not part of our family so as such I should address him by his name," Alfred was smart enough not to argue with his father-in-law.
"As I was saying earlier, Jackson and I will come often to keep you company in our free time. We will use this opportunity to not only bond but also test each other's skills by playing games like chess, monopoly, golf and so on," Alfred suggested with smiles.
"Your father now has two filial sons to keep him company, so when are you ladies gonna fulfil your filial piety just like the guys?" Mrs Avans said in a bid to help the guys out.
"Mum, there is no need to get jealous of father. If we want to spoil you rotten it is easy and we won't do it with words but with actions," Jasmine said hugging her mother's right hand.
"We will take you to fun places like the mall, boutique, spa, five-star restaurant, cinema and so many other fun places. Compared to all those boring games they mentioned I am sure you will agree that those places I mentioned are a thousand times interesting," Jasmine said with pride. She hugged her mum tighter to make the guys jealous.
"Yeah, Jasmine is right. Compare to the men, we the ladies know more ways to pamper the ones we love," Elizabeth supported as she hugged her mother two.
"Apart from games we also have tons of places to take uncle…,"
"If you want to argue with the girls then I ask that you give it up because you can never win against them when they team up. You will only end up admitting defeat if you want to go on," Mr Avans said as he stood up from the couch.
"I know you youngsters have so many places to go to have fun so you don't need to stay here anymore. Go and do your thing," Mr Avans said, he turned and walked towards the stairs.
"Dad, always take good care of yourself. It's quite cold during this time of the year so remember to always dress warmly," Elizabeth shouted after her after.
"My Elizabeth is the only one who cares deeply about me. If not for anyone's sake but your sake, I will try to stay alive until your next visit," Mr Avans said loudly without pausing to take a last look at his family.
"Mum, take care of yourself also. I will call to check up on often," Jasmine said letting go of her mother's hands.
"Mother, Liza and I will also call to check up on you," Alfred said before Elizabeth could speak.
"Like I said Auntie, you will see me often in your home. I will keep coming until father-in-law accepts me as part of the family," Jackson said seriously.
"Because I like you doesn't mean that I have given you my permission. I have a score to settle with you because of what you did so brace yourself for what is coming your…," Jasmine quickly nudged her mother to prevent her from finishing her sentence.
"Mum, stop scolding my man just like your husband did. We will leave now," Jasmine said shamelessly. She walked over to where Jackson stood and pull him along with her.
"Goodbye Auntie," Jackson said loud enough for the woman watching them to hear.
"We will also leave now too, mum," Elizabeth embraced her mother before she also grabbed her man's hand and together they left the house.
Mrs Avans went upstairs after they left the sitting room. Outside Alfred and Elizabeth caught up to Jasmine before they could reach their car.
"Jackson, what did you do that made mum react the way she did earlier? Did you perhaps offend her because before she left upstairs with Jasmine, she seemed to like you a lot even though she didn't say it," Elizabeth questioned curiously?
