MMORPG: Crowd Control

Chapter 25 Town Of Wales

While Lei Zhen was reading through the system prompts, Tang Qiaolian on the other hand held a solemn expression.

She grabbed her phone and dialed a number.

After a few seconds, someone picked it up and answered with a solemn voice, "Subordinate Deng Chao reporting, is there anything you need, Lady Qiaolian?"

"Have you done the task I've assigned you before?" Tang Qiaolian replied in a serious tone. Her facial expression alone could intimidate anyone that had seen her, completely unlike her previous demeanor where she was casual and outgoing.

"Yes, we have investigated upon your instructions and found the most suspicious one to be the Skyhigh Gang."

"Hmph, send some people over there and let them know the consequences of their actions." Tang Qiaolian sneered coldly. "Just a mere gang wanting to provoke the Helios Group? They are really courting death."

With that said, Tang Qiaolian ended the call and returned to her relaxed expression.

She turned around and glanced at the MagnoPod where Lei Zhen was laying with a gentle smile.

"Thank you for saving Liu Lingxin. She's a sworn sister of mine and if she were to meet with any danger, then I would have probably wreaked havoc in this peaceful city." She muttered quietly.

Sometime later, her phone was vibrating and she picked it up.

"Lingxin, why are you calling me?" Tang Qiaolian said cheerfully. Liu Lingxin was her only true friend since her childhood. Hence, their relationship was even closer than most of her relatives.

"Qiaolian, have you found the person I've mentioned before?" Liu Lingxin's voice echoed from the phone. "I want to thank Lei Zhen, but couldn't do so back then because I was still being targeted."

"Don't worry, I'm at his apartment right now." She giggled softly and continued to explain her relationship with Lei Zhen.

When Tang Qiaolian finished explaining, Liu Lingxin seemed to have been enlightened as she knew she found the name 'Lei Zhen' familiar.

"Ah, so he was the person that you were constantly talking about and how he kept refusing your help other than the medical fee?" Liu Lingxin said in a teasing tone.

pαndα,noνɐ1,сoМ While saying that, Tang Qiaolian's face blushed in redness. Luckily they were on a phone call instead of meeting face to face. Otherwise, she would be embarrassed to death by the teasing.

It was clear that the two had shared their little secrets with each other, indicating their close relationship between them.

"Aish, that's enough of your teasing, Lingxin. Anyway, I doubt Lei Zhen would care about your gratitude at all considering how he didn't even bother mentioning the event to me." Tang Qiaolian said with a tinge of bitterness.

Clearly, she was a bit dissatisfied that such a big incident had occurred yet Lei Zhen kept it to himself.

"Qiaolian, if I recall correctly, didn't Lei Zhen get kicked out of his Lei Enterprise? If so, why are you still with him or why didn't you try to help him out?" Liu Lingxin suddenly asked, catching Tang Qiaolian off-guard.

Tang Qiaolian was stupefied as she flashed a bitter smile, "That's exactly why Lei Zhen is different from those second-generation heirs. Unlike those useless young masters that only relied on their family, Lei Zhen preferred to work hard for himself."

"I see… However, that doesn't apply to me since you should know I'm the type that hates owing a favor to someone else. Since Lei Zhen had helped me out, then I would repay the favor."

Before Tang Qiaolian could even respond, her phone made a 'toot toot' sound, indicating Liu Lingxin had hung up on the phone already.

She was flabbergasted and should have known that Liu Lingxin would react in such a manner.

"Sigh, with her background and influence, Lingxin will find out about Lei Zhen's identity sooner or later, so I shouldn't be responsible for what's to come." Tang Qiaolian muttered.

As she continued to stare at Lei Zhen patiently for the arrival of her MagnoPod, Lei Zhen had just been transported to a town-like environment.

"Finally, I can see some buildings and people interacting," Lei Zhen felt blessed that he was no longer surrounded by trees or monsters.

He was standing on a platform with some sort of a circle-like formation beneath the concrete, prompting him to believe it was the respawn location. From afar, he could see numerous people interacting with each other and some patronizing a store.

Although he couldn't tell who was an NPC or who was a player because Magnolia did not have a status screen to reveal any of their players in the public. It was purposely done so to protect the player's identity.

Of course, there was also an option to reveal your username if you wanted others to know about you. Usually, the types of players that revealed their usernames are in the ranking leader or most would simply refer to as pro players.

Slowly, Lei Zhen stepped out of the platform he was at and checked on the map.

Town of Wales

That was the name of the town that he had respawned in, and to his surprise, the town seemed to be for the new players to spawn when they died. If it weren't for some errors that he had encountered, then he would have started off here as well.

"Wait a minute… What about my equipment?" Lei Zhen exclaimed as he hurriedly opened up his inventory. It was only at this moment that he remembered that his items could possibly be lost forever because of Robert killing him.

When his inventory showed up, Lei Zhen breathed a sigh of relief when everything was safe and sound. 'Thank heaven my items are still here. Otherwise, I can definitely be counted as the most unlucky person for the year.'

While he was relieved that his items were safe, Lei Zhen noticed a shiny box at the bottom left corner in his inventory with a question mark label on it.

He was dumbfounded by the finding and hesitantly clicked on it.

Ding!
