31 Chapter 0031
"You have gotten pretty good at this."
Kai commented, staring at the pile of meat neatly cut and placed on the side as I skinned another one of the monkeys.
"I know right."
I said, as my blade skillfully separated the meat from the skin and voila, another batch of meat was ready. I placed the skin inside my inventory as I put the meat aside.
"Yeah, to think you were a total newbie just a week ago. You sure grow fast."
"It's all thanks to me being a resurrector."
I said as I looked at the screen in front of me.
[Dissect Lv 5]
Damn, it had levelled up a lot. Miscellaneous skills were easy to level up, but this was still considered fast because of how much time I spent skinning and butchering the meat of Demon Monkeys and Piranhas.
To the point that Eclipse was now losing its durability.
[Eclipse - The Shanker of Faded Memories
Rating: Normal (Growth)
Durability: 163/170 Attack Power: 1003
Attack speed: +15% Critical Damage: +2.75
-Additional cold damage will be added to all critical hits, freezing the target for 0.5 seconds.

-After every four consecutive hits, Eclipse will deal true damage equal to 1% of the enemy's total HP.
-Has a low chance of causing the 'Bleed' status condition on every hit.
-Generates the skill 'Weak Spot Detection'.
-Generates the skill 'Multi Blades'.
-Generates the skill 'Camouflage'.
Eclipse is a mythical weapon with so many secrets that even Dulwak couldn't unravel all of them.
In the ancient myths, it was said that Eclipse has lots of forms and can even make its wielder disappear from the world, as the moon disappears from the world during an eclipse.
The crafter of this weapon is unknown to this date. Only a true wielder can unravel all of its mysteries.
User Restriction: Dulwak's Heir]
As I had grown considerably in levels, Eclipse's overall attack output had grown a lot too. But after using it continuously without a break ever since I got it, its durability was getting worse.
The weapon was bound to my soul, which means it will never disappear permanently. Even if its durability hit rock bottom, it would still affect its performance.

'I need to learn to maintain my own weapon's durability. Plus, I need a spare weapon for emergencies.'
I didn't want to trust my weapons, especially Eclipse, in anyone else's hand to take care of. It would immediately let out that I am the Legendary class. I wanted a spare weapon for the same reason. I didn't want to risk revealing my class by using the extra cool-looking Eclipse.
First of all,
"Well. I think we have enough for a week now. Let's stop here. I have to go do something else."
I said to Kai, who nodded his head in understanding.
"You are already doing a lot. I don't know how I can ever thank you in my life."
[Affinity with Village Chief Kai increased by +10]
[Affinity with Village Chief Kai is already at max.]
This has been going on for a while now. Kai's affinity with me was already at max since three days ago. No onlooker would believe that this scarred and dangerous-looking ogre trusted me so much. The same was true for Kris, while I had reached 50 points with Jezebeth.
For some reason, the affinity with Jezebeth increased very slowly. Although it was still fast compared to normal players' standards, it was still quite slow when compared to Kai, Kylos or Kris.
"You can thank me by joining my side when I ask you to."
I said simply. Although I had no plans as of now, I knew well enough that I couldn't survive long without making something similar to a guild. But for now, I wanted to enjoy my alone time a bit longer. Deep down, I still couldn't trust this guild bullshit.
"I'll lay down my life as long as you say the word."
Kai said passionately as he went to his knees. I immediately made him stand up again and smiled.
"Although I don't need you to put your life in danger, thank you. As long as you don't forget me, we are all good."
I repeated some kind words, and a bunch of affinity points bubbled out of him. Finally, a smile formed on my face unconsciously after seeing Kai's genuine worry and love for me.
After a while, I walked out of Kai's hut and started walking toward the hut that I was currently living in. Yes, the villagers were kind enough to build a hut for me, too, so that I could live with them peacefully.
"Hawwo Shura, whe aa you goin?"
As I walked towards my hut, a voice came behind me.
"Don't talk while you eat, and don't eat while moving."
I said as I looked at the owner of the voice. The person who had just spoken was Jeze as she was biting on some peach-like fruit.
"Yeaw yeaw dowt agt laaig wy dad."
I shook my head at her words and started walking towards my hut.
"I will practice alchemy now since I have gotten a bit stronger."
I replied to Jeze and finally entered my hunt.
"OH! Shura, you know alchemy? Isn't that the art of high sages?"
What? What was Jeze talking about?
"What do you mean? Alchemy is alchemy. What do you mean by the art of high sages?"
I felt like this was some kind of information that shouldn't be taken at face value.
"Don't you know? Alchemy is the art of the sages. The top generals of Abyss all got to their current position because they were naturally talented with alchemy. The Golem General Biluka is a person who can create human-sized golems with alchemy. And the amount of them is said to be in the dozens."
"The General who leads all the northern generals is a master of elemental control. He could turn the earth, water and even air to his will and use them in a fight."
"The General who governs the generals of the north-eastern Abyss is a master of medicines. He could create life-saving medicines and dangerous poisons at his fingertips."
"All of these generals have the alchemist class and specialise in the art of alchemy. They are called the Sages of the Chasm Empire."
"....."
What was this? The exaggerated tales of the brave sages?
Or the problem lay with the players.
It was probably the latter. After reading through my own skills, it was pretty obvious that alchemy was much more than what meets the eye.
So the players who thought that an Alchemist was nothing more than a scarcely picked production class were all wrong. If what Jeze had said was through, an Alchemist can do many more things than what the players give credit.
"Yeah, but I am nowhere near the level of generals. I just recently got the alchemist jo- class."
I told a half-truth to Jeze, whose eyes were shining with curiosity.
"So, you are not a dagger wielder? But you know, all alchemists are said to be weak at the start. You are quite strong with your dagger already. You even know how to be invisible!"
Now, Jeze's earlier words made even more sense. If alchemists were considered weak at their earlier phases even here, then the players would soon discover the power of alchemy.
Without thinking too much into it, I drew a circle with a demonic monkey's rib bone. Then, I drew two more circles around it and drew dive stars that connected the outer layers of the circle but left the inner circle empty.
[Demonic Monkey's Tail
Type - Material
Grade - Normal
The sturdy and sharp tail of a demonic monkey. It is as tough as stainless steel and as light as wood. It can be used to craft weapons. It has a bit of demonic energy that has seeped into the demon monkey's body.]
I placed two tails of the demonic monkey in the circle as I said the chant.
"Gaia, hark to mine own commandeth, melteth this mat'rial into a solid bar."
Soon, the lines of the circle and its pattern lit up, and the tails inside the pattern started to melt. It looked like how a metal melts, but without the burning red effect as it converted itself into a metallic block.
"Wow. That looked so… pleasing."
Jeze commented as she saw the process of alchemy.
I picked the two blocks of metal, which weren't as heavy as they seemed and used appraisal on them.
[Demonic Iron
Type - Material
Grade - Uncommon
Converted from the tail of the demonic monkey. This iron is tougher than the common iron and is more resistant to rusting and fire. It is as tough as steel and as light as wood. Can be used in item crafting.]
"Now, this is what I am talking about. Jeze, hand me your spear."
I asked Jeze for her spear, who looked confused at first, then handed it over to me.
[Wooden Spear with iron head
Rating: Normal
Durability: 3/14 Attack Power: 45
Attack Speed: -2%
A spear crafted by the ogre craftsman of the Rewan village. Unfortunately, its durability is running out, and it can break anytime.
User restriction: Level 10 or more.]
It was a dying spear without any class restriction. Without changing the circle, I put the spear inside it, with its head being in the centre. Then I put a block of demonic iron in it as I looked at the command for item creation and then chanted.
"Heareth mine own commandeth and maketh a stout partisan to drop of sorrow down mine own enemies!"
The circle lit up again, but soon, the light vanished as a system notification popped up.
[Insufficient material.]
I pondered for a bit, then threw in a jawbone of the Abyss Piranha inside as I repeated the chant.
This time, the incantations lit up again. All the items placed started hovering two feet above the ground as they let and moulded themselves together. Finally, after a bright flash of light, what remained was a beautiful black spear.
Its sharp and intricate spearhead looked as threatening as a piranha's mouth, its handle was made out of the dark iron with a line circling it from top to bottom. Although the spear was cold and threatening, at the same time, it had a bit of elegance to it.
I held the spear and used appraisal on it.
[Dark Iron Spear
Rating: Rare
Durability: 63/63 Attack Power: 149
Attack Speed: +5% Critical Damage: +0.5
-Additional dark damage on every critical hit.
A spear made through alchemy by the Night Alchemist Shura. Its spearhead is as sharp as a razor, and it is as light as wood.
User restrictions: level 10 or more.]
'Wow!'
"It looks so cool!"
I praised inwardly and heard Jeze's exclamatory praise.
