MONSTER MMORPG: Mayhem Online

54 Chapter 0054

"It's all my fault. I shouldn't have let her out in the world… I shouldn't have…."

Harold started sobbing as he started explaining that he was always scared of this situation appearing. He knew well enough that the forest goddess wasn't very famous, apart from the people who lived in the forest, there weren't many people who prayed to her.

Ena had started getting famous at a young age, to the point that the duke was afraid she would catch the bad eye of people. He had overlooked the fact that humans weren't the only creatures that got jealous.

"If only I had known this would happen…. I would have never let out Ena in the world to cure people."

Harold said regretfully and I tried to console him.

"Don't blame yourself for something that isn't your fault. I was lucky enough to find the fruit of Separation when I was out, if I succeed in creating a potion, then there is a high chance that the princess can be saved. Although, it's a high level ingredient and I can't guarantee any success."

"What? Fruit of Separation?"

"How did he find such a fruit? Did he already know the princess's condition?"

"Come to think of it, the fruit of Separation is the best bet for the princess if what that lad said is true."

"I can't believe such a rare fruit had appeared in such a perfect situation. This must be goddess Aphrodite's will."

"Wasn't Dulwak a bladesman though? How will this guy create a potion?"

The people around me again started buzzing.

"Please, try your best. I won't blame you even if you fail, but please, try your best."

"Yes, I'll try my best. Leave the centre area to me and back off, everyone."

Nameless and Gomchul made everyone back off, leaving the centre area of the huge room empty for my use.

The process of potion creation was much harder, especially for high-grade items, and required utmost attention. I opened the book of true alchemy and searched for the best way to turn the fruit of separation into a potion.

After a while, I took out the uncommon graded pen that I had taken from Chrysanthemum's treasury and started drawing the circle as described in the book of true alchemy.

'That reminds me, I am in a guild now….'

It was unbelievable, but I had certainly joined a guild and profited a lot just because of it. Even though I was more like a guest member than a regular member.

I made a big, pentagon in a one-metre radius, and connected all the corners to make a star. Following it up, I made another pentagon, bigger than the previous one, encompassing it.

'Now, for the final touch.'

I started adding small batches of herbs like Ice Cauliflower, Ice Grapes, Sunlit Evergrass, Lion's Bane, etc to each side of the pentagon. Taking out the fruit of separation from the glass keeper, I cut it in four pieces.

After going through the book of true alchemy, my knowledge about such things was higher than ever, and hence, I was able to fearlessly cut down the fruit without worrying about affecting the plant or the fruit of unification.

Putting a single cut piece of the fruit of separation, I sat down in front of the alchemy circle, my pen still held in my hands as I started chanting the command.

"Oh, the spirits of nature. Hark to mine own hest and alloweth me to concoct a potion."

As soon as the chant ended, the ingredients on the alchemy circle started shaking, and I could see strings of light coming out of them and attaching themselves to my fingers.

'Am I supposed to control these strings to make the potion myself? Isn't there an auto function?'

I tried looking for an auto function but there was none, to begin with, I couldn't help but start panicking.

I didn't know anything about potion creation, yet, I have to create a potion directly with an epic-grade ingredient, and if I mess up….. Well, then I messed up. I went through the guide of the book of true alchemy and began.

—-Heave ho!

Breathing a few times, I decided to pull the strings one by one. There were a total of five strings.

The first burnt a fire, the second one was like a violent mixer, the third one gave access to all the ingredients movement inside the circle. The fourth one was water, and the fifth one was human control over the potion getting created. It was like getting your own hand to use to mix and mould the potions according to the amount you wanted.

'Firstly, throw the other herbs into the mixer, as the fruit will be relatively easier to crush, but no need to mix all the ingredients together, that would just increase the chances of failure. Do it one by one.'

I controlled the third string and thought about controlling the Ice Grapes, they immediately started moving as I commanded them to.

I then used the mixer on the grapes, which turned into blueish white pulp in seconds, hovering on the place they were placed on.

I did the same to every other ingredient, controlling them and then turning them into pulp which separately hovered on the magic circle like coloured blobs of water.

In the end, I mashed the fruit of separation into a pulp too and received the notification.

[All ingredients successfully turned into pulp.]

Phew!

I let out another breath that I was holding, looking at the small bunch of different coloured pulps hovering in the air.

'Now, slowly mix in all the pulps together.'

Controlling all the pulps together, which was starting to drain my mental strength at an unbelievable rate, I used human control to slowly mix them in, as if I were stirring a stew slowly.

The colour of the pulps changed from a bluish hue to dark blue and then it started turning purple, the fruit of separation taking a dominant stance in the mix.

Then, I used the water from the strings. I could feel there was a limited amount, according to how well the alchemy circle was made.

Pouring a bit of water, I again started stirring the mix together, and suddenly, I started receiving notifications.

[The Ice Cauliflower and Ice Grape have added a lot of cold to the mix.]

[Separate the pulp from Ice Cauliflower and Ice Grape from the mix to save the potion from turning into a failure.]

Fuck! What?

How the fuck am I supposed to separate it after it has mixed. I tried to use the second string to control the ingredient, but there was none left to begin with, so it didn't work, soon the temperature started turning cold.

On impulse, I used fire to try and stop the mix from turning into a ball of ice, but as soon as I used fire, the mix started violently rampaging and soon, a violent boom was heard, with the purple goo of the mixture spread around everywhere.

"The alchemy failed. He tried well, but the item is too high level and delicate, it can take a dominant and submissive role depending on the control of the Alchemist."

"So no matter if you're a legend or not, one person just can't do everything."

"Shh! At least he tried. If you think you are better, why don't you go and make the potion."

"Uh…t-that.."

Ignoring the bunch of people who were talking about various things, my face fell on Harold's. Although he had said he wouldn't blame me, his pained face was enough to make my heart ache.

He was putting his trust on me and hoping for a miracle.

'I'll give it to you, the miracle that you wish for.'

Without wasting any time, I put another batch of ingredients on the alchemy circle after I had cleaned the purple goo on it.

I didn't want to remove the other ingredients such as the Ice Cauliflower and Ice grape, because as soon as the forest goddess' divinity separates from the princess, there was a high chance that she might end up dead if the potion also didn't have healing properties.

The other ingredients had high healing properties that could stabilise the princess' health.

This time, I wanted to try something daring. Since a fourth of the fruit of separation was used per try, I wanted to try something that I felt from deep inside me.

'I could afford another failure.'

It was like burning money at this point. But according to me, I had nothing to lose.

After turning the whole ingredients into pulp, I started gathering them together, but this time, I didn't add the water. Water was a necessary element in potion creation, as it gave the liquidity that the potions needed, but I just stirred the pulps together slowly, adding a bit of fire to the mixture, and slowly heating up the potion.

Using human control, I started to turn the hardened potions into little balls, the Alchemist's in the room exclaimed.

"Is he trying to make a pill without a cauldron? Is he Insane?"

"A cauldron is a must to make pills, only a grandmaster alchemist can make a pill without a cauldron."

Sweat trickled down my forehead as my head started aching due to straining and using my mental strength far beyond its capabilities.

Instead of stopping, I started to utilise the properties of the ice herbs into crystallizing the three pills that hovered in the air.

'Just a bit more.'

Dispersing the heat, I let the pills cool down in mid-air, after a while, I got a few notifications.

[Night Alchemist's correction is used on the Pill of Separation.]

[Night Alchemist's Pill Concoction has been created!]

[You have successfully made The Pill of Separation!]

[Congratulations! You have created an Epic II Rated Pill.]

[+10 Dexterity has been rewarded.]

[You have exceeded your current limits!]

[Your stat perseverance has increased by 3!]

I took out a small glass bottle of the health potion, emptied out its content and stored the three crystalline purple pills in it.

A smile emerged on my face.

'Fuck you forest ghost!'

I couldn't help but curse out. She was no goddess, she was more like a vengeful spirit.

A hopeful Harold and a shell-shocked bunch of doctors & alchemists stared at me.

"This….?"

"The pill creation was successful. Time to wake up the sleeping beauty."

I replied to Harold who was trying to gauge the situation.
