Chapter 8 A Bigger Emergency
Zhang Liling admitted to being bullied and ended up speaking to her mother for a few minutes more before their conversation came to an end.
"Your mother sounded very angry, but why didn't you tell her about your blood being taken forcefully?" Tungmei asked disappointedly.
Zhang Liling seemed to have intentionally skipped that part, and her reason is that it was not a matter to talk about over the phone.
Half an hour later, the people Shi Wenqian sent to take her back home, appeared in the room. For the first time, they asked Zhang Liling to come with them nicely, but she refused.
"The doctor said that I need bed rest. Also, I haven't eaten anything reasonable since today. I'm scared of collapsing, so I would rather stay here for some time."
The woman who came with the two men in suits exchanged glances with them before glancing back at Zhang Liling. The woman seemed to be in her late thirties, and she had this haughty air around her. This woman was Shi Wenqian's, righthand man.
"When you get home, you can eat and continue having plenty of rest. Madam wants you back immediately so you can be better-taken care of."
Zhang Liling scoffed and laid back on the bed. Next, she said with her gaze on her, "Tell your Madam that I won't leave this place until I have eaten good food. And if she tries to use force on me, you would be proving that the rumors are right."
Tungmei who was watching the little drama unfold, gave a thumbs-up to her in her head. She did right by trying to take advantage of the situation.
Shi Wenqian's righthand was very dissatisfied with Zhang Liling's action, but still shifted away and went on to contact her boss on the phone to inform her of her stepdaughter's request.
"Today is her lucky day, place an order for what she wants, but you must remind her to finish up quickly before I lose my patience." Shi Wenqian said through gritted teeth.

She seethed in rage at the thought of doing what Zhang Liling wanted.
Zhang Liling succeeded in having what she requested. She placed an order for so many different dishes which she ended up wasting.
After eating, it was time to leave, so she embraced Tungmei who asked her to keep her phone with her at all times.
"Help me take a leave of absence for the rest of the day." Zhang Liling said and waved to her.
Before Zhang Liling could get to the Zhang house, someone came back before her. It was her stepsister Zhang Xiaoling.
Zhang Xiaoling was older than Zhang Liling by almost 4 years, and she had no blood relationship with the Zhang family, but because Mr. Zhang had adopted her when he married her mother Shi Wenqian, she automatically became a daughter of the Zhang Family.
Zhang Xiaoling looked a bit panicked while stepping into the house. She had good looks and was of an average height. Plus her maturity, makeup, and sense of a good taste in fashion, she didn't look ordinary in any way.
Those who didn't know better would think that she was the true heiress of the Zhang family's fortune.
"Mum, have you seen the news?" She asked as she handed her handbag over to the servant and walked in with her shoes on.
Shi Wenqian looked so surprised to see her back home at that hour. "What are you doing here? Don't tell me that you came back because of the rumors?"
"Of course, I did, you could be kin trouble." Zhang Xiaoling said with a frown and a hint in her tone.
Shi Wenqian thought that she was worried for nothing and asked her to relax. "I have everything under control now. I have sent for her and they are on their way back now."
Right now, Shi Wenqian looked very confident because of her quick actions, but Zhang Xiaoling refused to relax. She pulled her arm and dragged her towards her bedroom.
"Mum, I have confidential advice to say to you," She said before her mother would struggle with her or start asking questions.
Shi Wenqian wondered what was so secretive for her to take her inside the room and even lock the door.
Now standing face to face with each other, Zhang Xiaoling let her go and said with a serious gaze on her, "Mum, you have to pause with the blood transfusion before you get into trouble. For now, leave Zhang Liling out of this before your entire business is ruined."
Initially, Shi Wenqian had a small smile on her face and was even about to ask if that was the confidential information she wanted to talk about, but when she heard the last part of her words, she froze.
"You know about my business?" She asked with a shocking gaze. "How did you find out?" She continued with a not-so-good facial expression.
Zhang Xiaoling released a deep breath, "Mum, what's important right now, is to clean up this mess with that girl, and get a doctor to check on her."
"There is no need for a doctor to come over, she would be fine after getting some rest. By the way, why are you suddenly showing care towards her?" Shi Wenqian asked with an unhappy gaze.
She didn't like her daughter's attitude, and couldn't wait to correct it. She believed that it would be a waste of resources to call a daughter over for Zhang Liling.
Her own flesh and blood was bedridden in the hospital while doctors and nurses served him, so why should Zhang Liling be given home-based VIP treatment. She didn't deserve that kind of treatment.
Zhang Xiaoling understood her mother's thoughts from her facial expressions, but that was not important now. There was bigger emergency news.
"Mum, dad is on his way right now." She revealed with a worried gaze.
Shi Wenqian seemed shocked at the revelation and couldn't help exclaiming, "What!" Then she went on to throw questions at her, "How is that possible? He clearly said he would be back tomorrow, where did you hear this from?"
"One of his assistants tipped me off, and that is the main reason I had to come back home. Mum, call the doctor now!" Zhang Xiaoling said while staring straight into her mother's eyes.
