Chapter 385: Ch.384 Reassembly
However, Donna didn't manage to keep her serious demeanor for long. She soon broke character. If she were deliberately imitating her sister, she could pull it off, but now that they were in private, there was no need.
"Hey, everyone." She strutted in with a catwalk-like stride, giving Circe a big hug and kissing her on both cheeks. "Hello, my other sister."
Circe, without much interest, greeted Donna back with a cheek-to-cheek touch. "If Cronus and the others knew you came here so openly, and I was just entertaining you, he'd go mad with anger."
"It's been thousands of years already. The era of the gods is long over, but the Titans still cling to old grudges. So boring." Donna rolled her eyes, as if to say, "Here we go again." "And besides, I'm an Amazon princess, not some tool of the Titans."
"So, you still defected."
"I don't want to get involved in any god's business. I just want to fly around the city every day, kicking bad guys' butts. But without Olympus having my back, the Titans wouldn't let me go." Donna turned to the others, extending her hand.
"So now you're the Goddess of Fate? The Titans coming after you would mean declaring war on Olympus." Circe sighed, resting her hands on her hips as she looked out at the sky from the cave entrance.
"Well, technically, the real Fates are still those three old ladies. I just hold the title, but you're right." Donna grinned slyly at Circe before turning around to shake hands with Detective Chimp.
The two knew each other. Occasionally, they ran into each other at the cafeteria in the Hall of Justice. Since Bobo was only 4'3", most of his interactions with her were from below, and he often mistook her for Diana.
The Oblivion Bar didn't serve food, so after a direct teleport portal was set up to the Hall of Justice, Bobo had all three of his daily meals there.
Batman provided meal subsidies for heroes, making it significantly cheaper to eat in the cafeteria than restaurants of similar quality outside.
Whenever Bobo mistook her for Diana at the cafeteria, Donna wouldn't correct him.
She just had to say, "Put it on my tab," after her meal, and the cost would end up on Diana's bill. Why correct him?

University life was expensive, and she was also being a superhero. She didn't have much time to work a regular job, and money was tight.
Donna's current cover was as a female university student at New York University, majoring in photography. The field was flexible—when she had a mission, she would just tell her classmates she was going out for a photoshoot, and then disappear for days without anyone looking for her.
She was a bit smarter than Diana, at least knowing how to blend in with society through young people and avoiding any Amazonian misunderstandings, although deep down, she was still an Amazon.
As for Diana, she was somewhat detached from society. Her current cover was as a student at the University of London, studying classical art and sculpture, but she hardly had any friends among ordinary people.
"Hello, sister." Donna hugged Arabella, greeting her with Amazonian etiquette. "I've always heard there was a female Hellblazer. So cool."
Arabella gave Su Ming a helpless glance. This young girl seemed overly excited, without realizing that she was about to pretend to be her sister and serve as tactical bait. The danger was not low.
But Su Ming found it normal. That's how Amazons were—facing battle made them excited. The greater the danger, the more they saw it as an honor.
Let alone the fact that Su Ming had "persuaded" Diana to step back, naming Donna to take her place.
Donna released Arabella and looked curiously at Su Ming, observing this person she had heard so much about.
During the Metal Crisis, she had fled to safety early on, and during the Omega Four Gods invasion, she was responsible for monitoring the Earth from the Watchtower. In other words, she didn't have much action.
She had heard Diana say that when faced with seven crazy Batmen, they were almost entirely defeated through the planning and combat of the alternate universe Su Ming.
One Batman was bad enough, let alone seven unrestrained, dark Batmen. The strength of this Su Ming was simply unimaginable. Recently, she'd heard some rumors in Olympus, saying that the alternate universe Su Ming had ambitions like Zeus's, specifically about having a large harem.
So now she was quite curious. As she shook Su Ming's hand, she scrutinized his appearance.
By normal standards, he could indeed be considered handsome, albeit with an aura of ferocity and darkness. The black leather eyepatch on his face added a layer of ruthlessness.
But to an Amazon, those weren't issues at all. The more ruthless and emotionless the warrior, the more they were attracted to them. Looks were secondary.
"Hello, Deathstroke."
"Good to meet you, but I'm afraid we don't have much time to chat. Now that you're here, we're heading to Shangri-La immediately."
Su Ming nodded at Donna, scrutinizing her equipment. Anyway, whatever Diana had, Donna also possessed. Except, her gear was crafted by the Titans, so the details were slightly different.
But as long as no one inspected too closely, it was good enough to fool anyone.
"Of course, let's set off right away. Batman gave me a brief explanation of the situation, and said I should follow your orders." Donna picked up her shield and sword, rotating her wrists to loosen up.
Su Ming squinted and put on his helmet. Batman saying that was unlikely.
He must have ordered Donna to keep an eye on him and be ready to stop him if he tried anything drastic.
He couldn't object to Diana stepping down—after all, Su Ming was indeed protecting her life. But that meant there was no one from the Justice League in the team at all.
With the stakes involving the safety of the magical world, he couldn't let a team without any Justice League ties handle it.
He certainly wouldn't rely on Bobo to prevent Su Ming from going rogue. A chimp wasn't much of a match for the world's greatest mercenary.
So, naturally, Batman needed someone on the team as a backup. Even if Su Ming hadn't contacted him, Batman would have sent someone.
He was probably considering Green Arrow or Green Lantern, but Su Ming directly requested Donna to join.
As the leader of the Teen Titans, Donna could perfectly impersonate Diana while also being someone Batman trusted to handle herself. After brief consideration, he agreed to Su Ming's request.
No matter what Batman thought or did, it was all about handling the magical issue smoothly. Su Ming had no intention of betraying and siding with Upside-Down Man.
So Batman could think whatever he wanted. He would carry out his justice while Su Ming made his gains—no conflict there.
"Goodbye, Circe. You should find somewhere to hide for a few days too."
Arabella had already opened a portal, and the group set off for Hell, making a stop before heading to Shangri-La. Before entering, Su Ming turned to remind the witch, who was staring blankly at the dining table.
"I will. Maybe I'll go to Limbo." Circe nodded slightly, pointing towards the portal, urging them to hurry up. Demons were already making their way over.
