Chapter 27 Nothing To Worry About
Dave had been quiet for about thirty minutes since their plane took to the sky.
He had spoken to Clark after his forced interview and he had told him that Emma was okay but he still wasn't convinced because Clark wasn't able to get him to hear Emma's voice.
"Hey, dude cheer up, he said she's okay," Mateo said as he could no longer take Dave's moodiness.
"I didn't hear her voice," Dave said.
"He said she was sleeping," Mateo said.
"That's the point," Dave said quickly, turning to face the window.
"I'm just surprised I didn't know Dave was dating your sister until now," Ferran said, raising his head on the back of Mateo's seat.
"Not everything should be public knowledge but thanks to the commentators everyone knows about it now," Mateo said.
"How did they even find out what happened?" Ferran asked.
"I don't know but sometimes information gets out through ways we can't even explain," Mateo said.
"They shouldn't have said that during the match, Dave was doing so well until that news messed him up, it even messed you up to some extent," Ferran said.
"Yeah but I'm glad you managed to win the match and gained all three points." Mateo said.
"Yeah, it's all thanks to you, the man of the match," Ferran said with a smile.
"We all played a big part in the win," Mateo said.
"Yeah," Ferran said. "I hope your sister's okay." He said, turning his gaze to Dave who was still looking out the window.
"She's okay," Mateo said with some sense of confidence and certainty which Dave just couldn't have in this current situation.
Dave quickly made his way to his car as the team arrived at the Wondamino stadium.
<Hey, slow down, it won't do her any good if you die driving like this>
Dave didn't listen to her as he kept driving at the same speed until he arrived at the hospital.

Well, you could say he only got lucky because there weren't many cars on the road at that time.
He parked his car in the parking spot and quickly made his way into the hospital and straight to the receptionist.
"Where is she?" He asked with a tense voice.
"Who?" The female receptionist asked, raising her eyebrows.
"Emma Smith, she was brought in here a few hours ago." The receptionist said.
"Yeah, she was." The receptionist said. "You're Dave Richards right?" She asked, taking notice of the sports kit he was putting on.
"Yeah, where is she?" Dave asked.
"Calm down sir, she's okay."
"Where is she?" Dave asked.
"Down the hallway, room number fifteen." The receptionist said as she had become quite startled by Dave.
"Thank you," Dave said quickly, rushing into the hallway.
"Was that Dave Richards?" A boy asked a few seconds after Dave had rushed into the hallway.
Dave quickly made his way to room number fifteen to find Emma lying on her bed with a drop hanging over her with the part of her shoulders that had gotten stabbed bandaged.
"Emma." He said quickly rushing to her.
"Come on Dave, I told you that she was okay, twice."
Dave quickly turned to see Clark sitting in the corner with a magazine in his hand.
"And then you proceeded to not show me how she was okay," Dave said.
"I didn't want you to see her like this, at least not while you were still over there," Clark said, getting up from his seat. "I'm starting to think that you conceded that goal because you decided to get worried about this."
"Why wouldn't I be worried?"
"I told you there was nothing to worry about," Clark said. "And as you can see, she's sleeping peacefully."
Dave didn't say anything as she slowly walked to her and examined her from head to toe.
"What did they do to her?" He asked with a devastated look on his face.
"She got stabbed on her shoulder, she was bleeding seriously and could have bled to death if I didn't get there fast enough," Clark said.
"How did you know?"
"She called me and I am glad I didn't leave town today," Clark said.
"Thanks, Clark." He said as he quickly turned to him and entangled him in a warm embrace. "You're a lifesaver."
"Don't mention it," Clark said.
Dave slowly pulled away from the hug and turned his gaze back to Emma.
She let out a soft moan before blinking her eyes a few times and finally opening them.
"Dave." She muttered as soon as she caught sight of Dave.
"Hey, Babe," Dave said, squatting down beside her bed.
"I thought you were supposed to be at Spree?" She said with a faint voice.
"No, the match's over and I came running here as fast as I could," Dave said, entangling his hand in hers.
"Yeah, he came running here pretty too fast," Clark said.
"I can't imagine how worried you must have been." She said with a smile.
<You seriously can't imagine it because it's unimaginable>
"I told him there was nothing to worry about but he took it upon himself to do so," Clark said.
"Hmph…so how did the match end?" She asked.
"We won, three goals to one," Dave said with a smile.
"Really? Who scored the third goal?" She asked.
"Mateo, he scored a free kick," Dave said.
"Oh," Emma said with a smile.
"I'm certain that match would have ended with a clean sheet if you had stopped worrying over nothing," Clark said.
"Nah, that goal had nothing to do with Dave."
Both Dave and Clark quickly turned to see Mateo standing there with a pack of flowers in his hand.
"Oh, here's our man of the match," Clark said with an enthusiastic voice.
"Wait..he won man of the match?" Emma said, pretending to be surprised.
"Don't act so surprised sis, you know what I'm capable of," Mateo said, walking to her. "This is for you by the way." He said, handing her the flowers.
"Thanks, Mateo," Emma said with a warm smile as she took the flower from him. "I told you there was nothing to worry about Dave."
"Really? Because you looked worried there in the second half and missed two clear chances." Dave said.
"I'm glad to know that you two were worried about me," Emma said.
"Hey, Mateo, I heard your last goal was a free kick, how did you do it, bro?" Clark asked.
"You didn't watch the match?" He asked before realizing why he didn't watch the match. "Oh…you were stuck here."
"Yeah, so how did you take the free kick?"
"I don't have to tell you, we can watch the highlights together," Dave said as he dipped his hand into his bag and brought out his iPad.
"Okay, that's what I'm talking about," Clark said.
<I told you there was nothing to worry about>
'Yeah but sometimes it's good to worry.' Dave replied, staring at Emma who had her eyes on Mateo's tablet now.
