Chapter 107: Chapter 107
[Real chapter coming soon...]
A tantalizing aroma permeates the air, capturing my attention. It's the scent of a particular food, but with an added twist—mingled with the essence of beastly flesh.
I slowly open my eyes, greeted by a hazy sight of a white ceiling. Blinking a few times, the blurry image sharpens, revealing a sight that leaves me dumbfounded—meat pillows looming above me.
"Fufu, they say waking up to the sight of breasts is quite pleasant," Marilyn muses, playfully juggling her ample bosom over my head.
Although she currently wears a loose purple gown, her voluptuous curves remain unmistakable, unconfined by the fabric.
"Well... That's certainly an unconventional way to wake someone from sleep," I mutter, raising my upper body. Marilyn also gets up and heads towards a table positioned at the far end of the room.
I suspect she's bringing the food whose enticing aroma beckoned me awake.
As my gaze follows her, it lands on Verona, who sits timidly at the edge of the second bed. Today, she wears a long black gown, seemingly a tad too large for her. With a mere glance, I recognize it as one of Marilyn's dresses—a dress I procured for her. (Unfortunately, it doesn't fit well due to her large chest that won't stop growing. ಥ_ಥ)
"Verona," I call out in a gentle voice, causing her to raise her head and meet my gaze.
"Ah, mister, you're finally awake. I don't know what to say, but thank you for everything yesterday. I can't express my gratitude enough, but I promise..." Verona's voice trembles as she expresses her appreciation, tears streaming down her face. Though her words rush past too quickly for me to fully grasp, the pain in her voice is palpable.
What has she endured?
"It's alright, Verona. Besides, I made quite a bit of money from that muscle-bound fool, haha. And since you seem prepared, I suppose I should fulfill my promise to you," I say, waving my hand. In an instant, a small pouch materializes in my palm.

"Here, this pouch contains two hundred gold coins. You can use it to start your own business and become a merchant," I say, tossing the pouch to Verona.
"T-This... Sir, are you giving me all the money you earned from my former master?" Verona's voice quivers as she speaks, tears welling up in her eyes once again.
"Fufu, it's nothing... Don't thank me again," I reply with a casual shrug, shifting my focus to Marilyn, who approaches me with a tray in her hands.
Abruptly, she stops in front of me, gently placing the tray on the bed. As I peer at its contents, my mouth falls agape.
"I... I woke up early and paid a small fee to use the kitchen upstairs. I made you this broth using the meat of a unique beast. Consuming it will enhance your vitality," Marilyn says, her cheeks reddening as she averts her gaze.
"I've found that practicing mindfulness and engaging in regular exercise significantly contribute to overall vitality," she adds.
Listening to her words, I stroke my chin in contemplation.
"Hmm, you know I train and exercise rigorously, so why the constant emphasis on vitality?" I ask curiously. "Or perhaps, are you attempting to increase my vitality so that when we have sex, your moans will fill the air?" A mischievous grin creeps onto my face.
Upon hearing my words, Marilyn lets out a weary sigh, placing her hands on her hips.
"You foolish master, I'm trying to increase your vitality because it makes it easier for you to absorb monster cores as an adventurer!" Marilyn exclaims with a hint of exasperation, her hands now covering her face.
"Heh, you should have mentioned that earlier. You made it sound rather perverted. Anyway, I'll dig in right away," I declare, picking up the tray and setting it on my lap.
Without hesitation, I begin sipping the broth with a spoon, relishing its flavors. The meat, tender and succulent, is easily cut with the spoon.
"Mmm, such a delicious meal," I manage to utter with a mouthful, devouring generous portions of the meat.
Marilyn snorts and walks away, feigning indifference. Yet, her embarrassment is evident from my remark.
"M-Mister," Verona speaks up in a hushed voice, glancing towards Marilyn in the distance. "I overheard your maid mention the Adventurers Guild. Are you planning to become an adventurer?"
I momentarily set aside the meat I was about to consume, raising my head to meet Verona's gaze.
"Yes, after I finish eating, I'll make my way to the Adventurers Guild," I affirm, gulping down the remaining broth and devouring the remaining chunk of meat.
"M-Mister, may I accompany you and become an adventurer as well?" Verona asks timidly, her voice barely audible, her eyes darting back to Marilyn before nervously swallowing.
"Do you have a death wish or something? Besides, I don't want you tagging along and burdening me," I respond, shaking my head disapprovingly.
"I'll go my own way once I obtain my adventurer's identification card. I know there's a chance I might get killed by a beast, but as an awakened individual capable of manipulating fire, if I train relentlessly and slay numerous monsters, I can increase my mana pool.
If I had become strong enough, I wouldn't have let my sister be taken away from me," Verona mutters, clenching her fists, her face filled with newfound determination.
Witnessing her resolve, a smile forms on my face. I appreciate a woman who strives to grow stronger, refusing to become a burden and relying solely on others. In this life, I won't allow any of my companions to burden me.
"I admire your determination, Verona. Don't you dare die on me. Think of your sister—if you want to save her, you must survive," I declare, offering Verona a warm smile as I rise from the bed and embrace her gently.
However...
There's an unmistakable killing intent directed towards me.
