My Plunderer System

Chapter 18 18 - Hierarchy III

Once he got up to his room, his roommates were nowhere to be seen so Milo took a quick shower before they got back. After finishing his shower and going to get a snack from the school cafeteria, his roommates had finally returned.

Chris was the first one to ask him what his rank was, hoping that he had ranked higher to once again attempt to prove that fire beat frost. But his hopes went down the drain when Milo lifted up his wrist smiling.

"Damn it! I thought for sure that I'd be ranked higher." Chris was a little bummed out that his point still hadn't been proven

After telling eachother their ranks, it turned out that both Chris and Mark both got placed in the B class. After talking a bit more, Chris made a remark to Milo.

"Don't boss us around just cause you're an A rank now, we're roommates after all."

"What do you mean boss you guys around?" Milo asked.

Chris and Mark both glanced at each other and went on to explain the ranking hierarchy that went on within the school. The higher ranks usually ended up forcing the lower ranks to do what they wanted because they were stronger, and the school sat back and let it happen like spectators. They said that by allowing students to solve things on their own, it encouraged them to mature and act like adults sooner, while also allowing them to train their abilities and combat ability even more.

Because of this philosophy, the school had rampant bullying as the ranks got lower. The higher your rank, the higher your social standing and the more you could control and get away with. Even though higher ranks reigned supreme, there was still bullying among the lower ranks as well, D ranks would bully those below them and even E ranks would bully F ranks into submission.

This made Milo furious, as it meant that Krista could get bullied just for being a C rank, even though his luck had turned around and he'd be among the top of the food chain, he was a victim of bullying and hated it more than anything.

When seeing the angry look in Milo's eyes both Chris and Mark got concerned because he looked like he wanted to tear someone's head off.

Trying to calm him down, Chris stated, "It may get other people's rocks off pushing people around, but not us." Mark nodded in agreement.

Milo knew he would have to do something about trying to topple the hierarchy because it pissed him off, but first he'd have to survive his first day of classes.
