My Virtual Girlfriend Is Actually a Lady From the Richest Family

Chapter 109: Breakfast

Victor started driving, leaving the airport behind which turned out to be even bigger than Paris Airport when observed carefully.

While driving, Victor's eyes kept glancing back.

"Sis, is he your boyfriend?" He finally asked but in the local language so David didn't understand.

"No, just a close friend," Mery replied.

They weren't dating, so Mery didn't need to lie by taking advantage of David's ignorance of her native language.

"How close?" Victor asked again, apparently thinking that a very close friendship between a man and a woman was also something romantic.

That was true because there were practically no men and women who were just close friends without romantic reasons. If there were, it would be a lie.

"The point is we sleep together," Mery replied in a nonchalant tone, looking very calm when she said that.

She had a western way of life, even more liberal than them. This kind of thing didn't make it awkward when she said it.

Perhaps the children of the rich in this country also have liberal views. Even so, Victor still rolled his eyes after hearing his sister's answer.

"That means you and him are in a FWB relationship," he said.

The word FWB instantly made David glance at him because he understood it well. The relationship between him and Isabel also started with that.

David then gave Mery a strange look.

"That's my business," Mery replied to Victor, in the local language.

She rested her head in her hand that was leaning against the car door.

Victor chuckled and continued speaking, "it seems your destiny is to be with a European man."

"I wasn't interested in a man from this country to begin with," Mery replied, not hiding her thoughts so even Victor seemed offended that he was also a local man.

He could only remain silent and then drove faster, entering the city which both amazed and astonished David.

He was amazed because he saw quite a number of very magnificent skyscrapers. However, the buildings were far apart from each other and between them were quite a few run-down neighborhoods with unstructured houses.

The streets were wide but the sidewalks were terrible, filled with street vendors.

There was no way anyone could walk on the sidewalks.

David wondered if the mayor had never designed what this city would look like so the development seemed to be without any rules at all.

"By the way sis, there are many good restaurants, but you know in our city that restaurants are always inferior to food from street vendors, so where would you like to have breakfast?" asked Victor after a while of not speaking.

This time, he spoke in English so David finally understood.

His question seemed to make Mery hesitate.

She then looked at David and asked, "would you be interested in trying street food? Victor told me the truth, food made by street vendors is always better than food in restaurants."

David had actually heard about that, something strange, of course.

He replied, "let's have breakfast at a street vendor."

He wasn't a rich man to begin with, so he didn't have any special rules on where he should eat.

If it was Jane, her food place would probably always have to be fancy.

Besides, she wanted to see more of the different leftovers from the country.

"Now let's go street vendor," Mery said to Victor.

"Make sure it's a very nice one and the food is clean," she added.

"Sure, I know a lot of good street vendors," Victor replied, then drove to a certain street that was smaller but had a lot of activity.

There were indeed many street vendors who opened makeshift stands, selling local food.

Apparently, near that area, there was a very large fish market, which is why it was so crowded.

And here, David saw quite a few Europeans like him, not just local people. They even seemed to be fluent in the local language. Maybe they were foreign workers working in this country.

Victor stopped the car in front of one of the stands.

The presence of his car could be said to be very conspicuous in this area. Every eye looked curiously, but there were also those who seemed to be familiar with the car, perhaps Victor was familiar with some of the people here.

Sure enough, when he got out, several people greeted him immediately.

"Your little brother seems to have a unique personality," David said to Mery.

The latter also seemed surprised as she observed Victor.

He didn't live in this city, so he didn't know much about Victor's daily life. So far, they had only communicated through video calls.

Given Victor's status as the son of a billionaire and supposed heir apparent, it was hard to believe that he hung out in the lower circles.

Normally, he would be a famous but hard-to-find young man.

After that, David and Mery finally got out of the car, following Victor to a stand made entirely of wood painted in green.

It was of course selling rice as its main menu while the seafood was quite varied, mostly using freshwater fish.

They were all neatly arranged on the stand's table.

Buyers don't need to say what they want to order. They simply pick up a plate and then take the menu they want.

It's similar to an All You Can Eat restaurant, but of course it's not like that because here you pay for everything you eat according to the price.

"Sit down, I'll get the most delicious one for you," Mery said to David as the latter looked at the row of menus in confusion.

David didn't reject her suggestion, he sat down at one of the tables, then waited with his eyes looking around.

Quite a few locals were staring at him even though they seemed used to Europeans. Maybe it was because he was a bit different from other European men.

His elite aura was very obvious.

Some of the young ladies did not even hesitate to blink at David.

Some even looked like they wanted to approach him, but they had to restrain themselves when Mery approached David with two plates in her hands.

Unfortunately, Mery was too pretty compared to them.
