Naval Gacha System: It's Time To Monopolize The Seven Seas!

Chapter 239 | 239 | The Battle in Dawn

The armored convoy reached the designated exfil of the Cerberus where two Ospreys resided, waiting for take off. Each of their propellers already began turning by the time the Cerberus personnel got out of the armored convoy with their target.

Surrounding the designated exfil area was the remaining of the Cerberus platoon, these men were part of the CHARLIE Team in the operation. Their mission was to ensure that the ALPHA Team, who abducted the target, returns to the Citadel with their classified target.

As the platoon leader walked towards the Osprey with the priestess whose knocked out over his shoulders, the captain of CHARLIE quickly met up with him while giving a salute.

"Sir, hundreds of hostiles are heading towards our location. The United Air Force will be assisting you in leaving the Dawn City." The captain calmly reported about their current situation. It seems that the influence of the target was far larger than they had previously expected.

"Understood, make sure that you survive the crazy bastards." The platoon leader remarked with a smile while the captain merely smirked at his words. "We have gone through far worser situations than this one, Sir."

Hearing the captain of CHARLIE, the platoon leader lightly chuckled and entered the Osprey through the rear ramp. The ALPHA Team followed from behind with some occupying the second Osprey. The CHARLIE and the BRAVO would be taking care of the chaos that would be left behind.

After all, the subordinates of the target still needed to be handled. They were far too dangerous to be left alone, especially with the citizens of the United World Government scattered throughout the dense metropolis of Dawn.

When everyone within the ALPHA Team entered their Ospreys, the rear ramps slowly closed as the transport aircrafts lifted off the ground. The metallic interiors of the military aircraft slightly trembled while the Cerberus personnel remained still in complete and utter silence.

The operation had gone through quicker than expected, though fortunately, it hadn't gone unpleasant. Their completion was unparalleled as they had captured their target with efficiency. Though, the fate of their colleagues left behind in the city remained a question to them.

The platoon leader and his men could only hope that their comrades would remain standing regardless of the challenges that they face within the accursed City of Dawn. It was the only thing they could do since the operation was far from complete.

The target will need to reach the Citadel alive where the Dragon of Liberation would begin the last phase of the mission. It was to force the priestess to dispel the vast psyche spell that had affected the population of the City of Dawn.

What kind of force she would use remained a question that the dragoness herself could only answer. But there was one thing for sure.

The culprit of the ongoing chaos must pay heavily for what she had done to the city and its citizens. The United World Government was rarely tolerant against terrorists, to which, she'd be considered as one. The priestess's way to hell wouldn't be an easy one.

On the other hand, within the designated exfil of the Cerberus ALPHA Team, chaos ensued as gunfights resounded throughout the area. Radiant lights flickered in the background along with explosions as CHARLIE were barely handling the situation at hand.

*BOOM!!!*

"Damnit, I didn't expect them to be so heavily equipped." The captain of CHARLIE cursed out while hiding behind cover, firing his rifle at the bastards when given a chance. Another one of his men fought right beside him and muttered. "These bastards come from the Special Response Division."

"Fuck! No wonder these guys are a bit tough. I didn't think that they would fail their oaths. And to think that these people were supposed to be the one in the frontlines against magic." The captain commented with disappointment.

"There's nothing we can do about it, Captain. We must fight no matter what and stand ground. Even if these bastards are the Special Response Division, I doubt that Lady Laplace would be with them any further." His subordinate stated a simple fact that most already knew.

*BOOM!!!*

The ground trembled once again as another explosion resounded in the outskirts of the area. The bastards from the Special Response Division were breaking through their defenses. These mind-controlled beastfolks were much harder to fight than the lunatics in Austerus.

They were like robots that didn't fear anything and anyone. They were also merciless in their ways, which made the strategies of the Cerberus largely ineffective.

"Captain! We are getting overrun!" One of the Cerberus operatives reported while gunning down a group of beastfolks rushing towards them. The designated exfil was surrounded at all sides. There was practically no path for retreat for them.

Their enemies were well-armed and averse in the areas surrounding their location. These bastards were also strong since they were personally trained by the dragoness herself.

"Fuck!" The captain cursed, trying to find a way to get out from the situation. Some might wonder why they hadn't called for reinforcements. It was because of the bastards jamming everything in the area. They were practically full-fledged traitors by now.

Fortunately, all hope was not lost. Amidst the distorted singing of their radios, a voice called out.

*This is the United Army, we have identified a battle within your area. Please disclose your identity.*

The captain and his men glanced at one another, unable to answer the demand of the other side. As he held the radio between his fingers, the captain took a deep breath and answered. "We cannot disclosed our identity, but I am under the orders of the Authority."

"Seek confirmation to the Citadel." The captain continued, understanding that it wouldn't be easy for them to believe that the Cerberus was part of the United Military. In hindsight, those who knew of the Cerberus's existence thought of them as the private military of the Atlas Corporation.

And the ones who noticed their existence were amongst the few. The general public had no idea about them. As such, from the moment they would die, they would become part of the ghosts that roamed the endless battlefield.

It was the fate they had accepted the moment they joined the Cerberus. It was the price for becoming the hidden dagger of the United World Government. They were never meant to be known as their inexistence to the others would perpetuate their existence itself.

The battle continued as the Cerberus were barely able to stand against the torrent of enemies that never seemed to end. Fighting against the Special Response Division had its troublesome toll. No matter how famed they were at being better, superior members would gradually consumed them.

However, it seemed that fate hadn't abandoned them yet. A minute after the captain responded, the radio that went silent returned with a voice. It resounded like the heavens given them their much needed hope.

*Air support has been sent to your location. ETA: 5 minutes. Hold on until then.*

It was confirmation that there was an end to this battle. A conclusion that didn't result in their deaths. It brought them hope, giving them morale to fight against the seemingly innumerable opponents that surrounded them.

The conflict between the Cerberus and the Special Response Division continued. Explosions reverberated like fireworks in new years night. One would have misunderstood for a war to be occurring, though with the way the two fought against each other. It might be no less of a war.

Five minutes passed and the Cerberus were severely encircled. Their defenses had been breached with many of their men killed in action. With each seconds passing by, the guillotine over their necks was getting closer.

"Don't worry! We must hold on, no matter what!" The captain shouted to his men as they fought with all their might. It didn't take long before a helicopter resounded from above. The remaining of Cerberus turned their gaze upward and saw three attack helicopters hovering above them.

Smiles returned in their faces as the grueling battle that they had fought against the bastards and traitors of the United World Government wasn't all for naught. The chain gun strapped into the Apaches began laying waste towards the beastfolks that were deemed hostiles.

*BBRRRRRrrrrrtttt!!!*

The thunderous roars of leads exploding out of the barrels reverberated throughout the area as the hostiles that encircling the CHARLIE were decimated with remarkable ease. In mere moments, the hundreds of enemies turned zero. It was all because of superior firepower.

"Captain, don't you think we should have one of those in our organization?" One of his men remarked while wryly smiling. The Cerberus's merely had transport units as they were never meant to be flashy. Though, an attack helicopter could prove useful in future endeavors.

In the capital battleship of UNS Trinity of Solace, Major Laplace had just heard the news of the containment's phase two's success and completion. Their target, the culprit of the troublesome issue had been successfully captured. However, the Special Response Division has been confirmed to have betrayed the United World Government.

The last information made her frown, but making the b*tch dispel the psyche spell was more important. She would have to forced it out of her as fast as possible.

Meanwhile, an hour later, Viagra found herself shrouded in darkness. Her vision gave her little to no information while her senses remained inactive. It was as though she was asleep despite being sure herself that she was wide awake.

Anxious thoughts pierced through her mind, afraid of what was to come. The voice that resounded afterward made it worsened.

"I didn't think we would meet again."
