Naval Gacha System: It's Time To Monopolize The Seven Seas!

Chapter 6: | 006 | Maritime Security Mission

*Ding!*

●| Sea Surveillance(Maritime Security Mission) |

➤| The United Navy has little to no information regarding the seas they found themselves plunged into. Their security is in a critical state. To stabilize the security of the United Navy and its region, the Fleet Admiral must deploy a warship for maritime security.

The warship must follow the given sea routes and challenges encountered along the way will be considered a part of the mission's subtasks. (Reward: 1,000 Naval Points) |

In the Fleet Admiral's office was a middle-aged man staring at a wall with a scrutinizing gaze. Most would have thought he had some kind of grudge against the wall, but such a conception was far from the truth.

After all, he was merely reading the digital screen before him.

When Abraham concluded his reading session. He understood the significance yet complexities of the mission. While he would like to immediately start it, no one knows what lurks in the seas beyond the horizon.

So, he desired to be cautious and bide his time to prepare for the mission.

'But… 1,000 Naval Points, huh. That's another ship for me.' He thought with subtle greed in his eyes. It was hard to control oneself when an opportunity arose in front of them.

It was natural to take an opportunity, and unnatural to not acquire it. It requires great discipline, which he severely lacked.

However, he wasn't alone in his endeavor. He had subordinates, and most importantly, Systema.

"Systema, what is the stratagem of the Naval Task?" He silently muttered while a mechanical bell rang inside his head.

*Ding!*

| Patience, preparation, caution, and information. |

Systema's answer wasn't much, but it coincided with what Abraham thought. Luckily, he wasn't rash. Otherwise, there would be problems for him.

'I don't have the ability to gain information about the seas. No locals have been discovered yet, though I doubt something actually resides on this island other than us.'

'Such a perfect yet empty place. Either the locals I want to find don't exist throughout the seas, or there is something skulking on the island. The latter seems more probable.'

Abraham furrowed his eyebrows as he realized that not only does he have to worry about the seas. He also needed to be wary about the island the Port of Dawn dwelled.

"I'll have to make a plan." He mumbled to himself and was about to start thinking about ideas to form his plan. But before he could continue to do so, a knock resounded from his wooden double door.

*Knock!* *Knock!* *Knock!*

Abraham raised an eyebrow and wondered who could be his visitor. He tidied himself up and uttered to the other side with a calm voice.

"Get in…" With his words, the double door opened and two individuals entered his office. One was the familiar Lieutenant Commander Morgen, while the other was an unknown officer.

"Apologies for returning after recently leaving the office, Fleet Admiral. But I met an interesting individual on my way out who requested to meet you." Morgen turned his gaze at the white-bearded old man beside him.

The white-bearded old man merely gave a smile and stepped forward. He saluted Abraham and introduced himself.

"I am Captain Lux of the UNS Light Bringer, Fleet Admiral."

"It is pleasant to see the highest of command."

Abraham realized that the old man was the captain of the destroyer he had recently summoned. It seems that the acquisition of ship personnel along with the warship was true.

"Good to see you, Captain Lux. You must have lots of questions about our circumstances." He said to the captain with a knowing smile.

Captain Lux wore the typical ivory-colored navy officer uniform with a white peak cap over his head. He looked like a veteran, but almost all the old men in the United Navy resembled veterans. Which was understandable and common sense.

Old people that last in an organization would always be regarded as veterans regardless of their ranks. Questioning why they look like veterans would be stupid, which Abraham realized.

This made him throw such thoughts away and correlate the old personnel as veterans. It made sense, and it was easier than always making comparisons.

'I can't believe I just wasted my brain cells in a brain rot of a discussion.' Abraham thought to himself before placing his attention back to the captain.

"You're correct, Fleet Admiral. I couldn't understand how my ship appeared in an unknown port that was supposed to be part of the navy." Captain Lux was blunt about his confusion.

"Well, the circumstances are complicated, Captain Lux. We are currently residing in an unknown new world that might be totally different from our old one. As such, we need to gather more of our allies and gain a foothold in this foreign world."

"The Port of Dawn is the only port of our navy in this world. And more warships will be expected in the future. After all, no one knows what beings reside in this alien world."

Abraham calmly explained while Captain Lux listened. Getting summoned was unexpected, but arriving in a new world was more so.

Luckily, the Fleet Admiral has some way of summoning more of their allies into the world. Especially with the unknown dangers that this world would present.

"I see… Thank you for the debriefing, Fleet Admiral. I'm a bit astounded to be in another world, but the UNS Light Bringer is ready and under your command." Captain Lux slightly bowed, though Abraham felt a bit perplexed.

"So, are you not questioning about being in a new world?" Abraham thought that the captain would require more information to believe in their situation.

He didn't expect the captain to immediately agree with him without any delay or hesitation. It felt a bit strange for the middle-aged man.

"There is no need for me to question the words of the Fleet Admiral. I am confident that the Fleet Admiral will not fabricate something, especially when it is related to the United Navy." Captain Lux said with a smile brimming with wisdom.

As expected, officers have ways in their words.

"Your trust is appreciated, Captain Lux." The edges of Abraham's lips rose, but he decided to change the subject. After all, he had to do something about the Naval Task.

"But before continuing on, I'd like for us to carry out a maritime security mission. What are your opinions about the mission, Captain Lux and Lieutenant Commander Morgen?"

Abraham asked the opinion of the two about undertaking a maritime security mission in the surrounding waters of the island.

Lieutenant Commander Morgen and Captain Lux thought about it for a short while. It was possible to carry out the maritime security mission, but they needed time. Such was their conclusion.

"Performing a maritime security mission requires a lot of preparation and time, Fleet Admiral. Especially, when we are doing it for the first time." Captain Lux uttered his opinion.

On the other hand, Lieutenant Commander Morgen followed and also explained his own reasoning.

"The Port of Dawn will not be able to support the mission at the moment. The logistics haven't been built. Our supplies also could only last us a month without any operation and a week if we underwent an operation."

The issues given by the two high officers made sense. Abraham understood that reality was different from a movie. The mobilization of a naval force requires a lot of time and preparation.

There was also the problem of the naval force doing it for the first time in an unknown sea. They needed information before even partaking in such a difficult task.

"We also need a route for the maritime security mission, Sir." Captain Lux brought the requirement of a route to the mission. Which, at the moment, they didn't have.

But Abraham had something different in mind, he closed his eyelids and pondered to Systema about the maritime security route. Luckily, Systema responded.

*Ding!*

| Current Maritime Security Route Available! |

The answer of the feminine and monotone voice made the Fleet Admiral sigh in relief. He gazed at Captain Lux and announced the existence of the route.

"I already have a route in mind, Captain Lux."

"Since we need preparation and time to conduct a maritime security mission, how much preparation and time do the two of you need?" Abraham questioned the two high officers.

Captain Lux and Lieutenant Commander Morgen contemplated for some time before answering to the highest of command in the United Navy.

"The Port of Dawn requires at least a week to stabilize and expand the port. We also need to investigate the island we reside in and perhaps exploit its resources."

"Before the activation of the manufacturing factories in the port, we also need to establish supply lines. Primarily, constructing a quarry for ore deposits and an oil field to drill for crude oil."

Lieutenant Commander said with confidence. If it was before, they would merely import the supplies they needed. But the current circumstances were different from before. They were alone in this world.

"The UNS Light Bringer is operational, but I require it to undertake a maintenance check. We also need supplies from the port, mainly food supplies."

"Other than that, the UNS Light Bringer can deploy within an estimated time of two days. Our armaments, munitions, and ordinance, should be armed and ready by then."

Captain Lux was also positive about sailing through the seas. However, they would have to be cautious as they don't know the possible dangers of treading beneath it.

With the opinions of the two high officers, Abraham finally reached a decision. He also had to get himself ready before sailing into the seas. So, he wasn't against their preparation.

"Now that the two of you have concluded. The maritime security mission will be acted in accordance after a week. Until then, the Port of Dawn will stabilize and expand. And the UNS Light Bringer will undergo a maintenance check and prepare its weapons."

Since the short meeting was concluded with the ordinance of the Fleet Admiral Shepherd, Captain Lux and Lieutenant Commander Morgen left the office of the high command.

The two had a goal in mind after stepping out of the branch office building.

Meanwhile, Abraham glanced at his slim arms and felt weak compared to his two officers. This fact made him clenched his eyebrows as he felt undeserving of his position. He wasn't even smarter than the two.

"I need to train."

The middle-aged man muttered with resolve.
