Chapter 19: Making The Fiend Desperate

Chapter 19: Making The Fiend Desperate

The sound of Ren reverberated suddenly loudly around him, which startled Ibro at first, however he didn't delay as he cut his hand using his sword and then he sent his blood to cover the whole altar randomly just before it entered the vortex.

The altar absorbed his blood fast before it vanished inside the vortex and suddenly Ibro felt a mysterious connection that began to take shape inside his soul sea.

'Don't panic, I'm now connecting myself to your soul sea. This technique of yours is miraculous, how did you create it?'

Ren's voice echoed in his mind coming from his soul sea. It was clear just like the voice of his system, which made Ibro ask:

'Are you trying to become a system? I already had one!'

'A system? I admit it's one of the forms that we can save the human soul and prevent it from shattering and breaking apart, however that wasn't my intention. Don't tell me you don't know the full capabilities of your own technique!' Ren said with doubt.

Ibro ignored the vague answer about the soul thing, and he replied Ren's question by explaining:

'This technique isn't mine, I copied it from the fiend over there.'

Ren paused for a moment before he returned to say:

'You can use spells?'

Ibro didn't know why, he felt some surprise in Ren's tone, nonetheless he replied:

'Yes, I can use spells. Once I know the spell I can use it.'

'Hmm, that's interesting. Spells were always something limited only to fiends and demons. We tried to copy them but we couldn't. The funny thing is we were the ones who taught those ignorant bastards how to unlock their potentials and use their demon energy.

In return, they stabbed us in the back,' Ren began to speak with a sad tone, it was as if he was recalling a distant tragic event. Ibro didn't know what he was talking about, and he had no time to ask right now.

'What about now? What is happening with the altar?'

'That's simple, that technique is marvelous, as it supports the summon technique we devised.

Strangely speaking, that demon clan spell you copied was designed to complement and augment out technique, so you don't need to use huge energy to summon us. It even lowers the required rank of energy to become only one of the super five human energies,' Ren explained slowly.

Ibro's mind began to work, as he had many questions that popped up without warning. He said after some pause:

'Do you mean that the demon clan got their hand over your technology? Let me tell you that this fiend used an altar that was strangely similar to yours in his summoning spell.'

'What do you say?' Ren's voice became more serious even though Ibro felt a shudder in his heart. Ibro hesitated for a moment before he controlled his anxious self and replied:

'I saw him using an altar like yours.'

Ren didn't speak as he tried to reach out towards the distant fiend's vortex, however his energy was still limited as he wasn't yet fully summoned. He gritted his teeth as he said to Ibro:

'I will hasten the energy absorption from that vortex. For your knowledge, this huge vortex coupled with the supporting spell of the fiend will be enough to make me link my altar to your soul sea. That means I will be forever lying inside your soul sea, absorbing energy constantly from it and storing it inside the altar. So, you can basically summon me more often than we planned a long time ago when we created this technique.'

Ibro felt the urge in Ren's voice, so he just nodded his head as he returned to focus once more over that fiend. The face of the fiend was unsightly, especially after the stoppage of the teleportation vortex. The direct link to his demon clan home was interrupted, and so the demon invasion to this sky world was doomed with failure.

The only way out for that fiend right now was to finish his summoning technique as fast as possible and then kill Ibro and win this challenge. He gambled everything on this challenge, his own town in this game, and his controlled universe. Although these were the property of the foolish human who sold his soul to him, it was still his property.

Losing this all would mean his prestigious place back at his demon clan world would flatter. He didn't want to end up losing everything, so he tried to focus on summoning the ancient fiend while ignoring the ongoing slaughter nearby.

As for the battle itself, Ibro just glanced once over it and he felt reassured. His skeletons were crushing the demons everywhere, and without more reinforcements, these demons were fated to perish here.

A tremor suddenly occurred to the huge vortex around Ibro. As he was still deeply diving into it, he felt the tremor strongly.

'Stop absorbing any energy from that vortex,' Ibro ordered.

'What about the summoning spell then?' the system asked.

'Don't worry, Ren will do the rest.'

Ibro knew this tremor was a sign that Ren was finally stepping on the stage. His doubts became real, as that tremor was followed by another, then another, and that all was coupled with an obvious enlargement of the summoning vortex.

Ibro didn't need to use his divine sense to know that the huge vortex was beginning to show changes. Such changes made that distant fiend totally panic, as without that vortex he couldn't go home, and that was equal to his death if he lost.

He depended on a certain secret spell to activate that vortex forcibly and escape through it. However now that vortex was vanishing with unknown reason, but he was sure this was related to Ibro.

"Stop what are you doing right now!"

The fiend couldn't control himself anymore, as he shouted angrily towards Ibro. Ibro heard him perfectly, however he totally ignored him. The vortex was really immense, and it would take quite some time for Ren to absorb all of it.

"Fine, if you want to play it this way, I will be crazier than you, Tragros Protaly Reka!"

'Oh my god, that fiend is really priceless. I want to tame him and make him my pet!'

Ibro was very excited as he acquired another spell without doing anything at all. He watched closely that fiend, as the spell was beginning to take effect.

The once lively healthy strong fiend began to wither like an ancient piece of wood that touched fire. His back became arched, his muscles began to emaciate and disappear, and his face was full of old deep wrinkles. Ibro felt astonished by that spell, as he understood its true horror.

'Th-This isn't a do spell, I won't use it ever in my life!'
