Chapter 77: Awaken Through Fire and Flames!
Over the ten thousand years that had followed the destruction of the Great Blood Empire, one faction took over as the leading power of the Purple Dawn Continent, dominating the other theocracies despite its status as a heretical cult: the Angra Theocracy.
And of all the warriors, priests and priestesses produced by that illustrious house, two stood in their own stratosphere, together becoming the most unstoppable duo in the history of the Purple Dawn.
But on this day, those two legends had suffered a beatdown. Battered and broken by an 18-year-old youth.
Just saying it shouldn't be allowed. But thanks to a succession of alliances, bold to borderline suicidal initiatives, plus an undeniable factor of good fortune, the most improbable of results…had become a reality.
But despite having just accomplished the most extraordinary feat of the millennium, Mithras couldn't rejoice, because the moment he released his thesis, the dragon youth went down—wheezing like a step four asthmatic.
His lungs struggled to stock the tiniest bit of air. But worse, his bones, muscles, veins and organs all burned nonstop, slowly melting into dark ashes.
"Can't…breathe…move...why…can't I—" Mithras couldn't finish the words. The world around him spun, stabbing headaches blasting through his skull as he ached from head to toe.
It hurt—hurt so fucking much! Holy damn! The dragon youth gritted his teeth, trying to maintain a grip on his consciousness. But in that instant…
"Kill…Kill the boy!"
"Cook him well done!"
"Eat him alive!"
"Dig out his bones, slice up his entrails, and hang him with a string of his own bowels!" The four Blood Longevity zealots took the lead, and with an eruption of demonic flames, they lunged at Mithras, thirsting for his blood!
These weren't humans, but true demons born and bred in the Paradise of Malice, most corrupt of the higher planes. And unable to digest the fact that their leaders had suffered such an absurd humiliation, they went unhinged, revealing their perverse tendencies.

Mithras couldn't fight back. But as he stood dangerously close to getting ground into minced meat, a graceful figure flew past him, meeting the four demons head-on! A shroud of silver flames coiled up her form, overshadowed by a blaze of violet flames.
If not Elektra, who else? And having relied on Mithras' Violet Flame to complete her own evolution, the silver-haired monstress at last mastered her mutation, fully unlocking the Legendary Monster Roulette and awakening as…the Queen of Monsters!
[Third Form: Everburning Phoenix]
The fox ears and tail vanished, replaced by a white-gold crown and a gigantic pair of silver phoenix wings that rose towards the sky. Elektra's physical attributes shot through the roof, her Sid Level climbing so fast that it tripled in a heartbeat!
The Monster Queen's left hook crashed into a Blood Longevity demon's face, cracking his chin while her right foot kicked at another demon's skull, sending the fiend reeling with a blast of ever-burning flames!
All four demons now surrounded Elektra, the five trading blows like flashes of colorful lightning. But as the fiends cooperated to withstand the Queen of Monsters, they failed to realize they'd had let a crucial fact slip out of their minds.
Of Akamana's 300 original Zealots, 250 had been turned into lion-headed serpents and enslaved by Mithras—leaving only 50 on the Angra Theocracy's side. This means that with Belphegor out and the four Blood Longevity demons focused on Elektra, the remaining 45 Zealots…had become meat on the chopping board for Mithras' forces!
The Lion-Headed Snakes launched at their former comrades, severely wounding several in the first charge. The 45 Zealots tried to escape, but lilac flames butterflies surrounded them from nowhere, messing up their senses, and trapping them in illusions!
Cassandra's new Inner Flame, the Spellbinding Flame, made its first proper introduction—also supercharged by Mithras' Violet Flame. That was all it took for Mithras' beasts to take an overwhelming advantage. And so by the time Belphegor had processed his defeat, the Zealots plete annihilation!
"AAAAAAAAARGH!" Noticing that as they struggled with Elektra, half their subordinates had gotten mauled into pieces already, the demons panicked, giving Elektra an opportunity she wouldn't let slip.
[One Life]
Biting her lips, Elektra rammed her fist into her chest, stroking her heart. The moment next, an inferno of jet-black flames erupted, lighting the four fiends ablaze! Their Inner Shields broke! Their healing factors couldn't keep up! And so by the time they'd realized their mistake, a third of their bodies…had turned into ashes!
A forbidden mantra created by the first Queen of Monster, One Life drained the user's Inner Flame to release the Furnace of Hell—exterminating all lives in the caster's immediate vicinity and burning for as long as there was an Inner Flame to drain.
So, while in theory everyone could use this forbidden mantra, it could only show its true power alongside the Everburning Phoenix Flame or something with similar properties.

[Burning Dragon World: Thousand Beast Invocation]
Meanwhile, Ishtar walked towards Belphegor, a magnificent spiral of violet and holy flames coiling up her form as she closed in on the undead. The holy flames lit Belphegor on fire, scarring his flesh with golden lava that hardened on his limbs.
At the same time, a cluster of gigantic red and purple flame dragons raced through the sky, turning the world into a realm of fire as they aimed for Belphegor!
Nagini's Pyromantic Thesis, the Burning Dragon World, had joined the dance as well!
Unlike other Flame Manipulators, Red Nagarajas possessed a thesis by default, a boon the entire race had received from the Red God. So as unfair as it sounded, Nagini didn't have to study Flame Manipulation to exhibit professor-level skills! And aware that with Mithras out, they couldn't give Belphegor a chance to regain his strength, the girls went all out, determined to bury the Knight of Ahriman!
*BANG*
A blast of burning smoke and colorful sparks lit up the place, sending Belphegor flying into the sky and cratering once more!
But the girls weren't satisfied, with Ishtar pulling a page out of Akamana's book and summoning the undead of all the citizens slaughtered by the Zealots in Flameheart City!
Those undead now rushed towards Belphegor, tossing themselves at the undead knight with a vengeful fury!
Only the upper echelon of the Angra Theocracy knew that, while Belphegor couldn't be harmed by mortals so long as he fought in Ahriman's name…on the flip side he couldn't harm mortals, not even have a trace of their blood on his hands! Otherwise, the Weaver's sentence would strike immediately, pummeling Belphegor into an unrecognizable mess!
This was the guarantee Ahriman had to give the Weaver so that Belphegor didn't become free to abuse mortals at will. An unreasonable guarantee that could easily get abused by Belphegor's enemies.
Case in point, Ishtar now abused that guarantee, giving the victims of the Zealots' rampage a chance to get revenge!
Belphegor's eyes widened in horror, but then, the realization that his undead life might end at last settled, and he lowered his head, accepting his fate. The undead citizens crashed into Belphegor, including heads like Luther di Astalon, Honoria's father, and other fallen nobles!
Their mortal blood now stained the Knight of Ahriman, prompting a colossal cloud of murk and gray to take shape above him.
"Sir Belphegor, the covenant has been broken.
Receive your sentence!" A divine enforcer's voice boomed across the scene, followed by a rain of gray lightning that smashed into the Knight of Ahriman, lighting him on fire!
