Chapter 9: Skill Shop I
Chapter 9: Skill Shop I
Thea looked at the 4 tabs and decided to continue in order so she opened [Skill Shop], the window closed again and a new opened, in this window was a table, divided into three sections, there was one long thin section at the top and below that two section next to each other. In the top compartment was her name, and in the bottom, 10 empty tabs in each compartment.
She tried selecting the top compartment but nothing happened so she left that alone, she then moved onto the bottom left compartment and a new screen popped up.
This screen was identical to the one before but without the top nor right compartment. There were still the 10 empty compartments but now there were prices written on them:
[0 DP]
[0 DP]
[0 DP]
[10 DP]
[50 DP]
[50 DP]
[50 DP]

Thea then purchased the first tab for 0 DP, basically not needing to pay anything. When she did purchase it however, a new screen popped up, on the top of this screen it read:
[Passive Skill Shop]
Under the title was a long list of skills, the list took up her whole vision and she could still scroll down to see more! Thea knew now she was going to spend a lot of time reading through the details of these skills.
She read through a diverse selection of skills, finding out there were some really nonsensical skills in the list, a few for example were [Counting 1 DP], [Staring 1 DP], [Sunbathing 1 DP], [Dramatic Falling 2 DP] and many more.
Thea started getting angry she was getting these suggestions until she remembered that during her character build she could choose animal body parts and even root skin. This probably meant she was getting all the options there were, related to any body modification she got the option to.
A little cooled down now that Thea found out why she was getting these choices she continued looking through the list for useful skills. Eventually, almost 2 hours later almost 1 000 skills down the list she seemed to come across a skill that looked useful to her.
[Cleaning 10 DP]
Now don't judge, this skill will be very useful, she found it important for herself and the people around her, that things were clean and hygienic. She didn't mind smells much but hated seeing things dirty and disorganized, in her past life she was very clean but not to the point of being a 'clean freak'. Now that she would be going to a new world, she didn't know what to expect and to her knowledge from novels, manga's and anime she used to watch, it was a reoccurring theme in worlds of magic to be behind in the technological and sanitary department. So just to be safe she chose this skill.
When she picked it and paid for it, she returned to the passive skill shop screen and in the first tab:
[Cleaning (LVL.1)]
Unlike with the [Character Creation] her tab she chose didn't disappear, so she tried selecting it to see if she could change choices however a new pop up appeared, one she hadn't seen before:
[Cleaning (LVL.1) 0 DP]
[Cleaning (LVL.2) 10 DP]
[Cleaning (LVL.3) 20 DP]
[Cleaning (LVL.4) 30 DP]
[Cleaning (LVL.MAX) 40 DP]
She looked at the screen for a bit and realized she would first have to choose skills she wanted and then the level at which she wanted to start with.
Having no need to save money but purely because of curiosity she inspected the maximum level cleaning skill.
[Cleaning (LVL.MAX): Improves your talent and efficiency in cleaning to the perfected level. You activate an area around you where impurities are removed at will. 40 DP]
Curious to see if the previous level gave a similar effect she inspected it.
[Cleaning (LVL.4): Improves your talent and efficiency in cleaning by a large amount 30 DP]
This proved that when something was at the maximum level in the passive section you received a passive skill you could activate with additional effects. Thea purchased [Cleaning (LVL.MAX) 40 DP] leisurely and the pop up closed, now she was back in the [Passive Skill Shop] window but there were only 9 tabs, all of which were empty, left on the screen.
Thea decided to buy all the empty tabs, spending 1 360 points without batting an eye. She then opened the next tab in the list and back was the long, long list of skills, on the bottom of the screen though was an exclaimer she read:
[You Can Select 8 Different Skills]
She knew she got this option because she had purchased the remaining tabs, but there were 9 empty tabs left not 8. Thea thought about this for a while but figured it was a better idea to first make her choices and then find out what happened to the last skill selection option.
