Chapter 38 - Walking Home
"My bribe is to help you in any way I can. But please, I don't have much money myself." Teren explained with a straight face.
The redness finally disappeared and he appeared like the usual Teren at school.
Mike and Catherine could only nod.
"Then since you accepted the bribe, I hope you keep your mouth shut, or else, you will be including those people you told in my list."
Teren said it so casually but the pair he was talking to shuddered in fright.
They have no qualms. Or even if they have, they wouldn't dare say it. After that, they went on their way. They considered telling this to the police but they have no evidence and they are scared of Teren if he knew they broke their promise.
Catherine wanted Mike to take her home but after looking at Mike, even he was out of it. So they separated after a long silence.
Meanwhile, at the back, Teren came back in front of Clade and saw him with closed eyes.
'Is he dead? But let me be sure.'
With the knife in his hand, he was about to remove Clade's head from his body when Iesa asked him.
"Teren, you will kill him?" Iesa asked with a frown.
"Yes..." Teren nodded.
Iesa didn't say anything. She could've turned around or even close her eyes. However, she did neither of the two.
"Iesa, you can wait for me outside." Teren looked at her curiously.
"N-no... I want to see it."

Hearing Iesa's trembling voice, Teren frowned and sighed.
"Actually, he might already be dead."
"Ah... no, I'm fine. What if he isn't and told the police?" Iesa asked.
"No one is going to believe him if he said it's a recoil from his ability that's why he got those injuries. Normal people don't believe in the supernatural anyway."
Iesa's face lit up when she heard those words. It's something that she would always say. Teren was the first person she heard it from other than herself.
"Furthermore, I want to know where he came from and what is their deal with Sir Hanon. Sir Hanon is still a teacher so I can't go questioning him. Meanwhile, this guy will stay in the hospital where I can visit him any time... if he lives that is."
After hearing Teren's words, Iesa nodded.
'Why do I want to watch Teren killing this man in the first place? Is it that I'm just curious? Or...?'
Later on, Teren took off his thin transparent gloves which shocked Iesa and Nick. He burned it along the tissues he wiped the little blood Clade splattered on him.
"Why did you have to burn the gloves?" Iesa asked, "You can still use it."
But Teren shook his head.
"This is for the police to know that I did it. Meanwhile, it will mislead the detectives out of my control. They will think that someone professional had done it and will not look at an ordinary high schooler such as myself."
'You're an ordinary high schooler?' Iesa and Nick inwardly asked.
"Also, the shop where I buy these things are untraceable so unless this detective is really good, they won't be able to pinpoint that I'm own these types of gloves. They will start by questioning all the place that sells this first and they will not find me."
"Ohh..." Iesa nodded with interest while Nick shuddered in fear.
'You're an ordinary high schooler?' Nick repeated in his head.
After that, the three went home. Nick separated while Teren chose to walk Iesa home. Although he said that they will walk together another time, Iesa didn't leave him so he had to walk her home.
"You have a new place?"
Realizing that they are walking in a different path, Teren asked.
"Yeah... We haven't been talking on the phone lately so I didn't have a chance to say it."
Iesa muttered which Teren heard and made him blush.
She then told him her weekend without sparing any details. Both then talked and laughed. Their walking speed slowing down more and more as if they want more time.
But eventually, they reached the apartment building.
"Um... well then. I'll be going now." Teren was about to wave goodbye when Iesa stopped him.
"Don't you want to see the room number?"
"..." Teren looked at her with disbelief.
Realizing what she said, Iesa covered her mouth.
"S-sure... if you want to." Teren replied.
"O-okay..." Iesa nodded.
The guard of the apartment raised an eyebrow towards Iesa. Since this new resident moved in, some rumors about her and her missing mother spread. The case about her father was classified.
'Isn't she a minor? She's already bringing her boyfriend in... but I'm not her father so I can't tell her what to do.' the guard just shrugged his shoulder.
The apartment building has five floors. On the fourth floor and in front of the room [411], Iesa stopped and shyly pointed.
"This is my room."
Teren just nodded and watched her open the room.
'She's really fine showing it to me? Is she no longer really scared of me?'
It should be obvious to others but for Teren, who is used to being feared every time others know his secret, it wasn't.
Iesa opened the door, which covered her from Teren's sight. Afterward, her head only peeked out while her eyes were directed down.
"So... you want to go in?"
"..." Teren was first stunned but when Iesa's words repeated in his head, he internally panicked.
'She's so cute I might commit a crime!'
For the first time in a while, Teren got scared that he's a psychopath himself. He's scared that he may not be able to control himself, now, for a different matter.
'What if I do something... bad to her? She's so cute, that will surely happen!'
His eyes spiraled as he stepped back.
"N-no... I think next time? Haha... I mean my mom and sister are already looking for me. It's already late. Umm, good night, see you tomorrow!" he then turned around and made his escape.
"..." Iesa saw him ran away after his awkward answer.
She looked at him as he ran out to the gate as well, surprising the guard who thought they were that kind of couple.
A wiggly smile appeared on Iesa's bright red face.
"Hmm... so that psychopath can be a coward sometimes too."
She felt stirring something in her stomach. It's ticklish and was making her smile non-stop. It took her a while before she finally entered her room after a moment of giggling, trying to release this ticklish feeling.
It was the first time she felt that she couldn't help but be worried.
