Chapter 185: 185
The servants told him that not even once did the Marquis go to see the Third Young Master after that incident.
He even inquired with his father's trusted right-hand man about his father's whereabouts and even him hasn't any idea where the Marquis was.
'Just where was father when the three of them were unexpectedly invited to that god-forsaken royal banquet and he didn't even dare to visit Ezekiel at least once!?'
"If you were only here just to keep me in check or just to relieve yourself from that guilt, it would be better for you just to leave me alone. Spare me the hypocrisy, First Young Master."
He snapped from his thoughts when he heard what his little brother stated and from that voice alone, Altron could perceive that while Ezekiel might sound calm and respectful as he spoke, but his voice sounded distant and void of any emotions.
« ... "Big brother, I won't be surprised if our dear little three want nothing to do with us anymore. Remember that we neglected him when he was still a child and never acknowledged him as our sibling. Also, do you think that if we suddenly treated him kindly, you think he would accept us and forget everything? I doubt he would." ... »
Remembering some of the advice from Harrison before and now that he heard what their youngest stated, the First Young Master couldn't help but think that his second little brother seemed like he had some sort of prophetic ability for figuring out situations like this and from the looks of it, Harrison might have known about their mother's shameless behavior for quite a long time now.
His youngest little brother is a victim of this situation and it's not just an ordinary assault but a shameless one that would imprint on his mind for the rest of his life, and the fault is none other than their mother.
'How naïve of him to think that everything would be alright if we make up for our mistakes. We have neglected him since young and when Lady Aryna died, they left Ezekiel alone to fed himself from this world.'
After that incident, Altron reflected on himself for not understanding their youngest at all. He felt guilty for not knowing the reason Ezekiel became so temperamental, and he thought it might be because his biological mother, Lady Aryna, died while he was still young.
Before they attended the royal banquet hosted by the Crown Prince, Altron confronted his second little brother after he settled down with their youngest sibling and when the situation was, at least, at ease for that moment as he remembered how reserved his second little brother was whenever their mother was around.
« ….. "I won't find you at fault with this situation, big brother. I choose not to speak because who would believe my words anyway? They would find it ridiculous if they learned how I, that woman's biological son, accused her of that kind of accusation. You also wouldn't believe me as well if I told
He snapped from those thoughts as he once again looked at his youngest little brother, who only looked back at him with those dull, cyan-colored eyes of his and the First Young Master could almost see his own reflection through those irises.

'Is it too late for me to mend this? What should I do then?'
{ …. "P-protect.... h-him...." ….. }
"What?"
'Who was that? Did someone speak just now?'
….. "First Young Master, is there something wrong?"
Altron snapped from his dazed as he looked back at his youngest little brother, who tilted his head sideways while looking back at him with a frown.
"Ahmm... Did you hear something?"
His youngest little brother frowns even more; "A-ahm.... I apologize but... I don't quite understand what you were trying to say."
Altron was sure that he heard someone or something whispered through his ears, but seeing his youngest little brother didn't hear anything then, he just sighed and held his temple.
'It looks like I need to rest for now. I've been working these days and because of that incident, it has piled my workload up.'
"If there is nothing else then, please leave, First Young Master. I'll repeat myself then. I don't need you or the other's pity on me. What's done has already been done. My only wish was for all of you to leave me alone."
He snapped once more when he heard the dull voice coming from his youngest little brother and as much as he wanted to make it up for him however, forcing him wouldn't do any good.
"Okay then, I'll be going for now. I'll come back here again with your second brother Harrison and don't worry about your sister Felicity as she won't be with us and only Harrison and myself will make a visit then."
Without waiting for his youngest little brother's response, he stormed out of that room and left immediately, without looking back.
{... "P-prevent.... h-him..... f-from..... h-harm.....".... }
Altron startled at the mysterious voice that whispered to his ears once again.
'What the hell―?!'
There were no servants around in the hallway and he was the only person around and no one else. He finds it odd for him to hear someone whisper in his ears suddenly.
'What was that again?! Protect and prevent who? Who was that voice was talking about, anyway?'
That voice suddenly popped out just now and when he was talking to...
The First Young Master halted from his steps as he looked behind his back to look at the direction where he just left and that was his youngest little brother's temporary quarters.
'That unfamiliar voice.... does it have some connections with little three?'
He didn't know if these were just his hallucinations or what. As much as he wanted to find out about this mysterious voice that kept on whispering through his ears but it exhausted him for today and wanted to rest for now.
{..... T-the.... f-fate.... o-f.... t-this..... w-world..... l-lies..... w-within.... h-his.... h-hands..... m-must..... p-protect.....}
'What in the―?!'
He looked around once more as if there was someone with him right now, but no matter where he looked, there was only him within the corridors of this manor.
"Just what in the world...."
Before he could utter those words, he snapped from himself and hurried to leave that place before his mind would go insane because of the voices that he kept on hearing.
