Vol. 9 - Chapter 441 - Report Card? Of course there is. Despair!
The final class of the first-term had come to an end.
The summer vacation in the ‹Dungeon Activity› was like the light of a firefly, a momentary flash. Though, it seems you do get report cards in reality.
Well, not that there was anything worth seeing in the report card that I, the top scorer in the term-end exam, had gotten. Still, I took a peek and...all S...fufu, fuhahaha!!
Haa, this wasn't enough to strain a single nerve of my brain! But then again, this was the 'physical proof' of my love and knowledge of ‹Dungeon Activity. Not a big deal, hahaha!
In the meanwhile I was drowned into the marvelous feeling, Phyllis-sensei at the podium had finished distributing the report cards.
The boys in front seats had their faces pale and hanging downward. Yeah, no need to mind them.
Inside the buzzing classroom, Phyllis-sensei spinned in her closing remarks for students who were about to step into their summer vacation.
"Everyone, first let me congratulate you on the hard work you all had put in this term. Perhaps, the result might not be what you were expecting since it's your first time, but I sure have seen a lot of effort you have put in study and dungeon. You all have shown splendid growth, and I hope you continue with the same rhythm. Also, I believe most must have the schedule to return to their home, right? Be careful about the force you use since you all now have a job. Unlike before, you each has power to reckon with so be mindful of it."
Truly an encouraging remark and gentle reminder befitting of her. Acquiring a job is like suddenly turning into a superman. Always be careful, everyone.
Well, it didn't seem like students were keen on taking those words to their heart though. I guess that's bound to happen huh, the jubilant mood of summer vacation was like this after all.
It's probably better to sing a tune in front of a cow than to harp here, right? I knew the result already. After all, this very day—the day prior to summer vacation—had been given the title of No.1 in the ranking of 'The day with shortest attention-span for teacher's words'! (‹=It doesn't exist)
Following Phyllis-sensei, Ladvena-sensei stood up from her seat next to the podium, from where she was overlooking the class, and spoke.
"Well then, It's about time I shall teach you some good things."

The preface stirred the students slightly. Divided might be they in another time, but at this moment, everyone's heart was one as they thought in unison, 'There's no way it's a good thing when it’s coming from you.'
"Summer vacation is the season of homevisit. But, do you know it also has another side here? Any guesses? It is—Overthrowing the Top."
The classroom stirred greatly. Overthrowing the top, what a domineering word.
For a class that stood at the top amidst the freshmen, there were as many pursuers as there were stars in the sky in the form of classmates. It wasn't a topic unrelated to them—of course, yours truly is always an exception.
"Those who decide to stay behind have plenty of time in hand. And there wouldn't be any better time to waste on a dungeon than now, right? So boys and girls, be careful if you're going to your house. I often heard it's like everyone but they have taken the hyper expressway to the new zenith. Even Prince Yuri prefers staying here unless necessary."
The buzzing in the class grew even louder. I turned to look at Lana, and she had a pouting look. Guess so, since the person as example was her brother after all.
My perception about this summer vacation ever since I am in it was of 'dungeon festival.' But it seemed like it wasn't shared by others. Students who were brimming with the lively aura at the thought of homevisit were now panicking.
The four in front of me especially had their expression turned—not just pale simply, but ghostly pale. I couldn't even sense their presence.
As that was mentioned before, getting stuck in make-up exams was like days of dungeons cut short and the effect of missing out on it was absolutely what Ladvena-sensei had said just now.
Phew, I am glad ‹Arc-Arcadia› and ‹Eden› are both clear here.
Well, we also had some members due for homevisit, but they would be back before it ends, as we had planned to visit the sea dungeon at the end of summer vacation. So even with that, our members more or less could hold their ground against changes.
"With that, make sure to have an unregretful summer vacation, alright? But slacking isn't allowed by the way."
Having finished what she wanted to say, Ladvena-sensei got down, and followed by Phyllis-sensei's final remark, the first term came to an end.
"Kuuuh. Just what shall we do? At this rate, we are...... we are......"
A sort of ruckus was erupting in the front seat, seemingly Saturn? Well, they can fend for themselves I believe.
I was more curious about what girls had planned. I barged into the space of girls who were needlessly going on about some psychological warfare with the report cards in their hand. First destination was Karua and Rika's seat.
"Karua."
"Hn, never."
"But I didn't even say anything."
"......Even so, there are things I can't show you too."
"I'm not asking you to show it for anything else. I want to see which subjects you are weak in and then plan out a study schedule to pick them together."
"......No moreeee."
It sounds like Karua's result was just so-so. Also, she sure doesn;t like studying huh. Her whole body trembled faintly when Rika brought up the topic. It's like just when she thought she finally had freedom from the classroom, study reared its ugly head suddenly and intensely. I understand, Karua. I deeply understand that feeling of despair!
Fortunately, labyrinth academy doesn't have the custom of summer vacation homework. The result, if they decided to slack, would appear in itself before them with double the force after all. Only if you work hard by yourself can you grow.
How is this even a summer vacation? Isn't it just the same as a self-study session then? if you're thinking along the lines, then bingo. You have learned the cruel truth.
"Hmm, so this was why Onii-sama never returned. I think I understand it finally now."
"Yo, Lana. What's the matter?"
I had just turned to Lana's seat when I saw her murmuring something with a displeased face. So I couldn't help but ask directly.
"......It's about my onii-sama. He had hardly come back in the last two years to visit us. I did get his letters but how can it be compared to his presence. I just couldn't take it to heart."
Ah, her lines were riddled with bits of information that I don't know but I more or less understood her point.
"So you have now finally understood that?"
"......I knew he had been working hard all along. A glimpse at the S-rank was enough to tell that. But my past-self at that time just couldn't forgive him."
"Lana-sama. If I may, It's perhaps time to reconcile with Yuri-sama. Don't you think so?"
"......You're right. But will he forgive me for being angry at him?"
"I believe your worries are unfounded."
Ester, who had suddenly joined in the conversation, suggested to Lana.
I see. So she and Prince Yuri were locked in a sibling's quarrel. Though, Ester tone suggests they used to have a more harmonious relationship. Right, it's possible we might have some kind of exchange with ‹King Absolute›, spearheaded by him, in the future so I should feed it into my memory. It would be awful to forget about considering Lana's our guild member.
...Ah, crap. I steered away from the topic again. I checked out on Sierra next.
"Great work, Sierra. By the way, I wanted to talk about the close-up party later today."
"......According to my memory, we had thrown a party just after the test ended, we also threw a party the day before yesterday in the name of promotion celebration. We are partying basically every other day. And you want to held another one?"
"Of course! Don't you think the end of final class brought the party mood!? Also, we're still missing the schedule of a few members, so it's just the chance to gather them as well."
"Haa. ......Your words have reasoning. Everyone has already been notified via chat, and Alulu and Hannah seemed to have already prepared for it. We should get moving as well."
When it comes to the vibe of the final class, isn't a party a must? Party is a party of ‹Eden› everyday routine!
We also have things to do, and there's no way I would miss the chance to gather everyone at the end of first term. And finally, the summer vacation has officially started as well!
