Vol. 9 - Chapter 457 - Nico-chan's Power Up and Training!
Starting day 2nd of our summer camp, we toured around the 19th floor, gathering luxurious food ingredients and hunting bosses.
The luck seemed to be in our favor as well as no one had to return back midway, which enabled us to go full-throttle mode in our harvest and hunting.
The first thing I did when we reached the 19th floor was to discuss our plan with Mert.
"Alright, who wants to take the head start in boss hunting? No wait, maybe it would be better to decide on member to hunt rare boss I guess?" (Zephyr)
"Hmm, Nico is must in party when it's about the rare boss. So we have to decide on rest since we can't go unlimited farming. But I don't think it needs to happen today, right? Maybe we should leave the rare boss for the last day." (Mert)
"It's also a sound choice. Maybe we should decide based on the member's growth. Nico is confirmed for sure at least." (Zephyr)
"Then, you can leave this task to me. I will decide on them." (Mert)
"Wow, are they talking about me or...are they not?" (Nico)
Indeed. Get yourself ready, Nico. It's going to be a wild ride for you! <Flute> number was set, so it would depend on her ability on how many rare boss's drops we could obtain in the limited round.
We carried group one first, albeit this time we had changed the members to <Arc-Arcadia>. Of course, there were also few members of <Eden> mixed in as their guard and guide.
The second group consisted of the rest of <Eden> and <Helper> group. I left Mert and Nico to take care of them while I made a trip to the 12th floor. It's really a huge lifesaver when you have dependable people to share the work!

By the time we came back, group 1 had already started their boss battle. Great, this was actually why I had carried them first. <Eden> members had already gained a great deal of experience so this was the time for them to learn and showcase their skill under <Eden> member's supervision.
Though, another objective to hunt down bosses was also the meat they drop. The ingredients were high grade on this floor but nothing really beat the meat from bosses!
As the healthy growing students, couldn't skimp on meat, eh? Hence one of our team would be constantly hunting them down. Uh-huh, it must be a sad life to be thought of as nothing more than a walking meat processor. Amen.
"Alright, we should get going on our boss hunt as well! Nico is the default member, so rest get your position quick. Ah, it should be two tanks, one attacker and one healer. Right, this is to make sure Nico remains safe. Once you get used to it, take a shot at boss, Nico."
"Roger."
There were three bosses, so two tanks were absolute. But then again, they were only comparable to Beginner-high in strength, so our members could still play the semi-defensive style and still win.
Nico would be participating in the regular boss battle as much as possible. Though given that her job was support class <Collector>, she had no offensive skill. The one she had just granted correction to drop.
Well, her weakness would more or less be lifted once she upgraded her job <Treasure Hunter>, which would grant her some offensive and scouting skills. This was why I was already making sure she adjusted her status accordingly.
Sow well, and you shall reap well as they say, no? It's all so that she could get used to fighting from an earlier stage so I had asked her to use a weapon as well.
The weapon was your truly recommended gun. Guns rely on DEX so they were the perfect fit for <Treasure Hunter>.
Advanced Job <Treasure Hunter> could use three types of weapon; dagger, gun and bow. Normally, it was the dagger that could use the skills to their best of ability, but that was actually a trap.
Points in STR attribute were needed if you actually wanted to dish out some damage and to deal damage, they would need to take a spot in vanguard. And unless they want to get flattened, that would require another rise in the attributes of VIT and RES. Well, that was precisely the trap, since it would become a tall task to focus on DEX and AGI.
Gun and bows relies more DEX so if they were to choose either of them, of course my vote goes to gun. Bow was more oriented for the attacker, while the gun fit for balance.
Bow certainly had advantage in attack, but with guns, they would be able to play a gun and a shield in each hand style. Later would at least give them some defense, unlike the paper armor <Treasure Hunter> originally were. Imagine getting clobbered mid-way in the game, wouldn't it defeat the purpose of having <Treasure Hunter> in party if we couldn't even use <Rare Drop Collection> skill.
Nico's current equipment was a handgun and an oblong shield.
The handgun was a bit bigger compared to normal guns and sported black design, so it could be used with both hands as well. In that case, it actually increases the power of shots as well. As expected of the game world...I guess?
The shield was like a smaller version of tower shield, and closer to a riot shield in appearance. It was one meter long, so it was enough for Nico to even hide behind if she crouched to take cover.
Hiding behind the shield stabbed into the ground while shooting with a handgun; quite a safe playstyle, eh? Though this also made them immobile.
Her armaments were all defense---albeit a lightweight one, since armor was impossible for <Collector>---focused to give her more padding to soak in the damage, which was the highest priority.
The name of her equipment was <White Robe Armor of A Fairy>, similar to Karua's <Mercenary Fairy Armor Set>. Except, the former was made from drops of regular monsters of <Four Season Spirit Dungeon>.
The set consists of white robe with an ear hood covering her head, slightly loose pants and boots. Over chest, she was wearing leather armor, and on her back, she was carrying a rabbit-designed rucksack---<Item Bag>.
I must say, it actually comes out as stylish dressing. To be honest, I didn't expect her to look this good in it. Hmm, was it because she always gave a researcher-like vibe? Must be so.
Anyway, now that Nico's equipment wardrobe was complete, it was time for her to gain some field experience. I need her to learn how to not get flattened, how not to become the hate target of boss, and if time permits, give her some pointers about offense.
After all, it was the camp at the end. Training inexperienced members or guiding others was one of the main objectives. In short---the real thing had just started!
In this way, our second day of Camp became boss farming and training day.
