Chapter 187 - Spiritual Oranges
"We would like to purchase all the spiritual oranges you have for sale."
While Luo Xiao was busy reminiscing about their past, Jiang Yao had already stepped in front of the stall. The spiritual oranges were not a rare fruit, but the season was not suitable for harvesting them, so they were not easy to come across at this time.
The stall-owner was not from Cloudsoar City, and when he heard Jiang Yao's words, his eyes widened in surprise.
He had long since known that the people living in the capital of the Demon Empire were much greater than those from his native country, but this arrogant and domineering way of purchasing was truly unexpected.
However, the stall-owner was a merchant, and he would naturally be happy if he could sell that much in one go, so he happily smiled as he began to wrap up the many spiritual oranges that were placed in his stall.
"Do we need all of them?" Luo Xiao had regained his senses and suddenly registered what Jiang Yao had said. The stall had at least fifty spiritual oranges, and while he enjoyed them and felt emotional when thinking about their past, he still felt that fifty was a bit too many.
"It is fine. We can try to grow a few of them at home as well."

Jiang Yao was not very knowledgeable about how the spiritual oranges were grown. He did not know much about them, as he never had much of an interest in them before, but any excuse could be used when it came to purchasing what he wanted.
To him, these oranges were special to the two of them, so when they came across some, he had to purchase them all.
"I see. As long as you are happy."
Luo Xiao knew Jiang Yao's personality well. He would talk nonsense with his eyes open and with such certainty that most would believe what he said, but this also meant that he was set on the decision, and that it could not be changed.
Since he was this stubborn, then Luo Xiao saw no reason to start an argument, and he happily waited by the side as the stall-owner finished packing up.
Jiang Yao paid and quickly placed the spiritual oranges in his storage bag. There were many, and it was not practical to walk with them in his hands, so he quickly put them away, and they began to stroll down the streets once more.
Luo Xiao and Jiang Yao were both in a good mood. They tried some of the entertainments that had been put up, such as scooping spirit fish out of a bucket, and even betting on crickets.
They were not in a hurry and enjoyed their time as the sky turned dark. Although the natural light had vanished and the lanterns had been lit up, the temporary festival had not become less energetic.
Many, who had previously been at work, were now gathering at the square. Some of the stalls, which had previously focused on candied fruit and other things that children preferred, were now focused on various wines and snacks.
The adults enjoyed the different wines, and the atmosphere was boisterous and exciting.
"Do you want to have a sip of wine?"
Jiang Yao looked at the stalls that had the most different types of wine, and noticed that a special kind of fruit wine was available. Although it was made from fruit, it was much stronger than many of the other wines, but the alcohol could not be tasted, so one would easily get drunk.
Jiang Yao did not intend to take advantage of Luo Xiao, but he remembered the time when the younger man had gotten drunk before, and almost said that he liked him, but never got to finish his words.
It had, somehow, left a shadow in his heart, and he wanted to hear the drunk man confess to him.
"No, thank you. We have to return to the auction house soon."
Luo Xiao sounded noncelant and unaware of the demon prince's hidden motives, but he had long since noticed the eagerness in the other's eyes, and decided to stay safe.
Although he had forgotten about the previous time, he knew that drinking was not a good thing, as it might make him do things he would not do normally, and he might even forget about them later.
For now, the most important thing was to get their money and treasures from the auction house, and then they could focus on such things later.
Jiang Yao smiled resignedly. He had long since guessed he would be declined, but he still had the attitude of giving it a try.
"Well, then, shall we go to the auction house before they close for the night?"
Jiang Yao smiled tenderly as he looked at the younger male by his side. Although Luo Xiao was, in many's eyes, not able to stand shoulder to shoulder with Jiang Yao, only he himself knew how much this young man meant to him.
Being suitable did not depend on background or power, but on feelings. To Jiang Yao, no one was more suitable for him, and thus he was eager to show off his love to the entire world.
Luo Xiao was also very satisfied with his current position in life. He knew that he was not that strong yet, but cultivation could not be rushed. He had to work hard and take one step at a time, so that his future would not be ruined, and there was no doubt that his personal demon would wait for him to catch up.
The two of them smiled tacitly to one another before they headed back to the auction house.. They were both eager to get the payout they had earned during the biggest auction that had ever been held on the continent.
