Reverse Apocalypse: The Devil's Revenge

Chapter 137 Crush?

It took less than three hours to finish all Phasma Lavitas Potions.

After Olivia drank the first potion, everyone was a little skeptical about its effectiveness. However, Jennie and Felicia drank the next two potions without hesitation.

Their bodies' response to the potions was exactly the same as Olivia had demonstrated first.

Their faces turned paper-white and they looked like they were about to vomit at any moment. This state lasted for half an hour before the girls felt much better than before. In the end, they vomited only once, releasing a greenish substance with several small black masses mixed into it.

While the black masses were impurities, the greenish substances were the poison that had spread through the body.

That was also why the others had a much worse reaction after drinking the Phasma Lavitas Potion.

Olivia and the other girls hadn't been exposed to the Phasma Decur Poison for a long time. Thus, their reaction to the antidote wasn't as intense as was the case with the others. While Hellen and Derek fared quite as well, the 15 Natives, who had been living in the Underground Shelter didn't have that much luck.

After they swallowed the content of the Phasma Lavitas Potion, they ended up spending five hours in the worst state of their lives. They vomited three to five times each. Each time they vomited, the greenish substance and the black mass they released were bigger than before.

Liam finished cleaning his tools before he put them aside, reattaching them to the Keychain of Miniature Tools. The Keychain was then put back in the Storage Rune. Once he was done cleaning his working space, he walked over to the corner of the underground shelter where he sat down to sleep.

However, before Liam could sit down, he felt a light touch around his left arm. He was lightly pulled around, where Felicia's red face came into his view.

"T-Thank you!" She said flustered with a hand on her chest, seemingly to calm down her wildly palpitating heart.

Liam was about to say something, only to note that Felicia closed into him, planting a kiss on his cheek.

"Y-y-you saved m-my parents…thank you…" She mumbled under her breath, her thumbing heart overshadowing the noises around her as she took a step back.

Her face was burning and it looked almost like her ears were moving in embarrassment. Felicia was not an Elf, but every inch of her body seemed to be screaming out her embarrassment. That was not something humans ought to be able. Their bodies were simply not the same as the Elvens' bodies, whether it was their physique or the unique traits the cells of Elves harbored.

'I get that she's thankful, but isn't that too much? It's not like I did it for them.'

Liam touched his left cheek where Felicia had kissed him. He tilted his head lightly and stared at the blushing girl.

If not for her parents retching and lying on the ground, vomiting the greenish substance and impurities of their body, they would probably be flabbergasted. Their daughter had never even held hands with anyone openly, forget about kissing.

It was obvious that Felicia and Liam were not together, and it was also quite apparent that Liam was not romantically involved with anyone. That meant…their daughter assaulted Liam!

'Fortunately, they didn't see that,' Olivia thought as her eyes moved to the 15 people who were kneeling on the ground, trying to stay alive and not to suffocate on their own vomit. Her eyes moved quickly back to Felicia, who was still blushing.

It looked like she expected something from Liam in return for the reward she gave out just now. However, something Felicia imagined vividly in her mind wouldn't expect. Olivia chose to spare her best friend from bad experiences and approached her slowly.

Olivia appeared behind Felicia, her hands moved slowly around her waist, and she pulled her best friend toward her just a moment later.

"Hiuek!"

Felicia was pulled out of her trance-like state through Olivia's pull. She noticed the tight grasp her friend had around her waist and noticed that Olivia's head rested on her shoulders.

"Don't overdo it, Felicia," Olivia whispered in Felicia's ear. Felicia turned her head to Olivia, where he saw a faint smile on her friend's face.

"It's not bad to have a crush on someone, but you should be a bit careful not to push others away. I think Liam needs some time before he can accept someone in his love life."

Even though Olivia didn't want to sound too serious, she ended up doing exactly that. There was nothing wrong with having a crush on someone. However, there was a big gap between crushing on someone and bothering them with your love.

Felicia was currently extremely emotional because she reunited with her parents, just to find out that they were poisoned and about to die in three days. Liam saved everyone without hesitation. That made him seem like a hero from one of the hundreds of fairy tales Felicia had heard in the past. In Felicia's eyes, Liam was not a Devil and neither a Halfling. He was just a broken hero from this moment onward.

Felicia's heart beat wildly at the thought of fixing the broken hero, tending to his physical and psychological wounds, and being there for him. Her entire body was heating up and she breathed heavier.

Feeling the heat Felicia exuded, Olivia smiled wryly.

She patted her friend's head and took a step back. Their private matters were not actually her business. She just felt like it would make things a lot more complicated if everyone were to confess their love to Liam all of a sudden.

It was quite obvious to her, but Liam wouldn't accept anyone's confession right now. He was currently not in a state where he could be bothered about love. Liam wanted to get stronger, nothing more and nothing less.

Liam's behavior may be changing slowly, but that didn't mean his core ideology would crumble all of a sudden. That was very unlikely to happen, no matter how many people fell in love with Liam, or how much time passed.

His life may change once he got his revenge, but it would take a while until that would happen.

Olivia was not too sure how strong Liam had been in the past, or how strong his family is, but considering that the Underground Tower had been created by the Devil Duchess, there seemed to be a lot to talk about in the future.

If Liam's younger sister was already a Devil Duchess, wasn't it highly likely that everyone else in his family was even stronger? The more Olivia thought about it, the more problematic the situation seemed. Distracting Liam from his goal wouldn't be good, and neither would fall in love with him.

However, that was not something Felicia could think about. Her mind was in a mess, filled with gratefulness and thoughts about Liam.

Liam, on the other hand, was tired from using his Arcane Power to create the Phasma Lavitas Potions. His mental power had been drained completely just like his Arcane Power. He was in a big mess and didn't think too much about Felicia's kiss on the cheek.

She was probably too emotionally involved and thankful for his actions. There was not much to it.

With that in mind, Liam fell asleep.

He slept very well, and nobody dared to bother him.

The next morning, Liam woke up from the noises in the underground shelter.

"I understand that you trust Liam, but we're not going to follow him. We might be weak and it might be foolish to think about hiding from monsters, but we're not ready to endanger our life more than necessary.

Your mom and I will search for a more secure place and build a small shelter. To protect this shelter, we will have to fight a lot, but it is much more secure than following your friend. He is basically attracting problems. You can tell that as well…and I really don't like that you want to stay by his side. Strength may be important, now more than ever before, but if you die, it will all be useless!"

Felicia's father was talking loud enough to wake up anything in a range of hundreds of meters. At least, that was what Liam felt like as he opened his eyes slightly.

He saw Felicia's father holding her shoulders, trying to talk sense into her.

However, that seemed hardly helpful.

Felicia's expression was complex. She seemed to be in a mess, unsure of what she was supposed to do.

Could she follow Liam and the others, or did she have to stay behind with her parents?

The former would mean that she had to leave behind her parents once again, while the latter meant that she had to part ways with Olivia and Liam. It was not even sure when they would meet again, or if they would meet again, in the first place.

There was no way to communicate with each other, after all!

"Dad…hiding will inevitably kill you. Even if it will be dangerous to stay near Liam, it is probably the safest way to become stronger as quickly as possible. That way, once we're strong, we can overcome anything, instead of being forced to rely on others to survive!" Felicia said, almost desperately trying to convince her father that it was important to follow Liam.

"I rather rely on others than trust someone like Liam."

"DAD!"
