Chapter 17: College Life Is Great
By the time the class meeting ended, it was almost 8:30 p.m.
After Senior Zhang Panfeng stammered through his speech, covering various matters to take note of, it was time for the self-introduction segment of Accounting Class 2.
Jiang Miao’s self-introduction was ordinary.
It was nothing more than his name, where he was from, what he was good at, and what he liked.
Unless he revealed his Peach Jam identity on the spot, there was nothing about his introduction that would cause a stir.
Of course, even an ordinary introduction attracted the attention of many girls because of his appearance.
Unfortunately, Jiang Miao wasn’t interested in dating. Otherwise, pursuing girls would have been quite easy for him.
After the self-introductions, the meeting moved on to announcements about recruitment for the military training Political Work Group and the election of the class committee positions.
Both required only sending private messages to the class assistants to sign up because school had just started, and no one was familiar with each other, so there was no voting process.
After everything was wrapped up, Zhang Panfeng declared the end of the meeting.“I’m going to the bathroom. You guys go ahead,” Jiang Miao said as he stood up.
“Want us to wait for you?” Wang Xin asked. “Just be a little faster.”
“I’m going number two. No need to wait.” Jiang Miao waved his hand and squeezed out of the corridor.
Xun Liang moved aside and muttered, “Brother Jiang, don’t mess up your pants again.”
Jiang Miao: “…”
Why is this guy so annoying?
After walking out of the classroom, he entered the restroom and stayed in the cubicle for a few minutes, reading a novel to pass the time.
[Zhouzhou Loves Congee]: Okay, everyone’s gone.

[Miaomiao is Deep in Thought]: Coming.
Jiang Miao walked out of the cubicle and washed his hands. While washing, he looked at himself in the mirror and thought, Why does it look like we’re having an affair?
He had already made up his mind to stay away from Senior Sister, but as soon as she said she wanted to treat him to bubble tea to apologize, he agreed.
It doesn’t matter if it’s just once, right?
It’s fine as long as I don’t expose my identity as Peach Jam.
After all, strolling with Senior Sister under the moonlight without telling anyone is very thrilling.
But it’s not because I’m interested in her. It’s purely for gathering material.
Yes, just for gathering materials.
Jiang Miao nodded at his reflection in the mirror. After drying his hands, he walked out of the restroom and went to the southeast entrance of the Department of Accounting building.
Su Huaizhou was already waiting here, leaning against the wall with her hands behind her back. The lighting and moonlight shone on her exquisite profile, and her sandal-clad left foot was tapping lightly on the floor, revealing an alluring and fair instep.
“Let’s go. The bubble tea shop at the library closes early. We won’t be able to make it if we’re late.” Su Huaizhou waved at Junior Brother and walked out the door.
Jiang Miao quickly followed. Subconsciously, his gaze drifted over Senior Sister’s smooth hair and round shoulders before moving down along her straight back and slender waist.
The clear moonlight acted as a precursor, clearing the way for the bold gaze. It wasn’t until he noticed it and mentally chastised himself for his rudeness that his gaze returned to the front.
But it had to be said that, even in the dark, Senior Sister’s charm was undeniable.
She was even more alluring because of the lights and shadows dancing over her figure.
However, Senior Sister didn’t realize it herself. She even smiled and leaned closer to Jiang Miao. “There’s a association recruitment event next weekend. Are you interested in joining the Youth Association?”
The Youth Association, also known as the Youth Volunteers Association, was an organization dedicated to volunteer activities.
Su Huaizhou was in the publicity department of the Youth Association of the School of Business, where she served as deputy secretary, a position with some influence. If Jiang Miao was interested, it should be quite easy for him to enter the department.
But clearly, he wasn’t interested.
“Senior Sister, I promised Wang Xin to join the debate team with him. Let’s forget about the Youth Association.” Jiang Miao brought Wang Xin out to save the situation. “I don’t want to participate in too many associations or clubs. One is enough.”
“Debate team, huh?” Su Huaizhou glanced at Jiang Miao, who avoided her gaze, and smiled slyly. “That’s not bad. It’s a good way to develop skills.”
Having politely declined Senior Sister’s invitation, Jiang Miao breathed a sigh of relief and mentally gave himself a thumbs-up. Not bad. I can even turn down Senior Sister’s invitation.
“What a pity~ If you had joined the Youth Association, there would’ve been some perks for the military training.”
“Hmm? What perks?”
“For example, we’d bring you bubble tea, fruits, and so on during your breaks. There’s also weekend dinner parties or stays at guesthouses.”
“… That’s quite a shame,” Jiang Miao replied. He imagined Senior Sister walking over from the edge of the field, passing through the crowd step by step, and personally delivering him a cup of bubble tea. He wasn’t envious at all.
Yep, not at all.
While chatting about trivial matters, the two of them arrived at the bubble tea shop.
A few minutes later, they came out of the shop. Jiang Miao was holding a cup of cold bubble tea in his hand and chewing on the grass jelly he had just sipped.
Su Huaizhou walked beside him, drinking a warm red bean bubble tea.
“Senior Sister, in this heat, you’re drinking something warm?”
“Junior Brother, you’re not very attentive, are you?” She raised her index finger and shook it with a smile. “Girls always have a few days like that every month.”
Jiang Miao: “…”
It was an awkward statement to respond to, so he chose to remain silent.
Su Huaizhou didn’t mind and changed the topic with a sigh. “If I had known, I wouldn’t have stayed up late to read that novel last night. Now, I don’t have anything to read today.”
“Ahem…” Jiang Miao thought of the two chapters he had updated in the early morning. He didn’t expect Senior Sister had stayed up late last night to read them. “You can check out other novels.”
“Recently, I’m into these kinds of fluffy romance novels, but it’s hard to find good ones. There are only a few, and I’ve already caught up with the latest chapters,” Su Huaizhou complained. “If I knew where Peach Jam was, I would catch her and force her to write more.”
“…” Jiang Miao forced a smile. “That might be going a bit too far…”
“Haha~ Just kidding. Don’t take it seriously.” Su Huaizhou laughed. “I hope she can do a big release after the novel goes premium.”
A big release?
Not happening.
Jiang Miao thought.
Three thousand words a day is already the limit of a human!
Anything beyond that means the author is no longer human.
He still had a strong sense of recognition and belonging to his human identity, and he had no plans to abandon it.
…
Later at night, Senior Sister and Junior Brother walked back to their dormitories. The moonlight shone down, casting intertwining shadows on the ground.
The two chatted and laughed along the way. Because of their shared interest in web novels, Jiang Miao didn’t feel uneasy at all.
The comfortable atmosphere of their conversation made the walk feel very pleasant.
However, the premise was that Senior Sister could refrain from mentioning Peach Jam too often.
Otherwise, Jiang Miao felt that his eyelids would soon cramp from twitching.
His heart couldn’t take the shock.
“Alright, you’ve had your bubble tea, and I’ve apologized. Good luck with the debate team, Junio Brother,” Su Huaizhou said with a smile as she half-turned when they arrived at the entrance of Building 30 of Xiuye Commons.
The bright moonlight cast a soft glow on her black hair, and the evening breeze playfully sent a strand of hair across her lips.
“Okay. Goodnight, Senior Sister.”
“Goodnight~”
Watching Senior Sister’s back disappear around the corner on the first-floor lobby, Jiang Miao tapped his forehead and sighed with emotion. Is this college life? It’s great.
