Chapter 444: The Converging Storm in Sighişoara (Part 18 )
The poison mist refined from a magi's lungs by Kairi had strong inert properties and didn't easily disperse. Additionally, it was mixed with substances that disrupted magical energy, allowing him to appear and disappear unpredictably within it, ultimately getting close to Fiore.
One could say that the poison mist was greatly responsible for Kairi's ability to fight from a disadvantaged position to a stalemate where both sides were severely wounded. After his decisive strike was foiled, Kairi remained composed, thanks to the presence of the mist.
But now, the mist had dispersed, meaning he had lost his greatest advantage.
As the creator of the mist, Kairi knew its duration well and it shouldn't have dispersed so quickly. The fact that it was spreading now indicated an external interference.
His eyes never left Jack and Fiore, confirming it wasn't their doing. This meant—there was a fourth person hidden here?
Instantly, Kairi's body tensed, and he removed his sunglasses, scanning the surroundings with wide eyes.
At that moment, he sensed an unfamiliar magical presence. It was incredibly powerful, not inferior to the best class, Saber. This magical energy was so dignified that it could rival Black Lancer Artoria.
This magical energy broke through the poison mist's barrier—no, it not only did that, but its inherent holy majesty also began purifying the necromancy within the mist. Necromancy was the source of the mist's poison; without it, the poison mist lost its threat.
Damn, this is the Church's work. Is the Servant that appeared this time a saint from the Church?
While Kairi cursed inwardly, the owner of the magical energy had already appeared before him.
And then, Kairi was dumbfounded.

Because this face, except for the hairstyle and eye color, was almost identical to Mordred!
If he hadn't seen Morgan's silhouette in a dream, and if he didn't know that Artoria was Black Lancer, he would have mistaken the person in front of him for Artoria, the resemblance was that strong.
Now, he wondered if she was Mordred's sibling or (distant) descendant.
The girl who looked remarkably like Artoria spoke to Kairi: "I am Servant Ruler, true name Jeanne d'Arc. You must be the Master of Red Saber."
"Servant Ruler?" Kairi was taken aback. He knew of the Ruler's existence but had never seen one, and didn't expect her to appear now.
"That's right. Could I take a moment of your time? I have some questions to ask you." Jeanne nodded seriously, her expansive magical energy sweeping away the remaining poison mist.
"Ruler, I, Fiore Forvedge Yggdmillennia, Master of Black Assassin, and he, Kairi Shishigou, Master of Red Saber, haven't finished our battle—you, as a judge, shouldn't show favoritism, right?" Fiore spoke, aiming her "Jupiter: Tin arm of Protection," "Mars: Iron arm of War," and "Saturn: Lead arm of Roaring" at Kairi, seemingly ready to turn him into a sieve.
Kairi's expression changed, and he instinctively raised his gun. Even though he was out of ammunition, he wouldn't surrender.
Jeanne stepped between them and shook her head at Fiore: "No, the battle is over."
"Are you going to favor the Red faction?" Fiore frowned.
Jeanne shook her head again: "I won't favor any side. The reason I say this is because—"
"Mama, you can't fight anymore."
Jack jumped onto the Bronze-Link Manipulators.
"Daddy said this scary-looking uncle over here can't die yet."
"Scary-looking uncle..." Kairi twitched his mouth. Sorry if I look scary, no, I'm not scary at all!
"So, stop calling me Mama. I don't know your daddy." Fiore was about to lose it.
She didn't realize that she had narrowly avoided death twice. If it were the old Jack, she would have drawn her knives and attacked the moment Fiore first said "not Mama."
Thanks to Reika's good teaching, Jack didn't act out her "Ripper" tendencies with an innocent face; she just pouted and mumbled in discontent.
"Mama is Mama."
Maybe Jack's expression was too innocent and cute, or maybe Fiore couldn't handle Jack, so she finally compromised.
"Call me whatever you like, but Kairi Sisigou—"
"Run, Scary-looking uncle!"
Before Fiore could finish her sentence, Jack, who had a natural sensitivity to such things, had already shouted at Sishigou.
"Just call him uncle, Uncle Sishigou is fine. The scary-looking uncle is not!"
Sisigou, being straightforward, immediately ran off, his speed comparable to an Olympic sprint champion.
Fiore wanted to chase after him, but Jack kept causing trouble. At such close range, even with the quick reaction time of her connected enhancement equipment, she couldn't keep up with Jack. After a few random interferences, Sisigou escaped the range of the light bullets.
Just as Sisigou was about to run into a nearby side road, the phantoms of several beasts emerged from the walls, pouncing toward him.
Sisigou quickly drew his gun, shattering two of the beasts, then swung his fist hard, sending the remaining beasts flying.
However, these beast phantoms were unexpectedly resilient. After being sent flying, they quickly got back up and continued to chase Sisigou. Despite his magically enhanced leg strength, Sisigou couldn't outrun them. Seeing that he was about to be caught, he had no choice but to turn and continue punching.
At that moment, four daggers shot from behind, pinning the remaining four beasts firmly to the ground. Simultaneously, Jack's voice rang out: "Scary-looking uncle, these are all mine. Don't touch."
"Alright, they're all yours." Sisigou was more than happy to leave them be, turning to run again. As he left, he didn't forget to correct Jack, "Don't call me Scary-looking uncle!"
Jack wouldn't agree, quickly catching up and brandishing two cleavers to dissect the pinned beasts one by one, consuming them piece by piece. After finishing, she earnestly commented, "Not as tasty as the ones no name mama releases—mama, do you have more?"
"No," Fiore replied irritably.
With Sisigou having been let go by Jack, she couldn't be in a good mood. "It's all your fault, you bad child."
Jack patted her small belly, smiling innocently. "We're not bad children. Daddy told me to do this. Mama should talk to Daddy."
"So, who exactly is your daddy?" Fiore asked.
"Daddy is just Daddy," came the typical childlike response.
Fiore was speechless.
"Stop playing around, it's time to go." Jeanne walked over to the now-satiated Jack, patting her on the head.
"Oh, goodbye Mama." Jack held Jeanne's hand with one hand and waved to Fiore with the other. "Next time, remember to prepare something tasty for us."
"Farewell, Master of the Yggdmillennia clan." Jeanne nodded to Fiore, then looked in another direction with a smile. She then leaped onto a nearby rooftop with Jack, disappearing into the night—With her sensory abilities and A-rank agility, she could catch up to Sisigou even if he had run far, while Fiore could only stand there and fume.
