Chapter 58: Demigod
Chapter 58: Demigod
Sol was troubled by the decision, he would not be this troubled if Nerodia was with him as she was strong enough to ensure the delegation group safety.
Now Sol only has Moon and himself in the team, he could also include Miya but she would not be that much help as she did not have any bloodline.
This gave Sol all the more reason to ask for the Goddess favor, He hoped that his last offer would be enough to pay for it.
Sol brought Nerva directly to the temple as the meeting concluded, when he opened the door he could feel something different than when he came alone, he could feel the Goddess was present in the temple.
"Greeting Your Cuteness" he bowed before taking his seat that the Goddess prepared.
Minerva beckoned her daughter to seat on her lap, the child follow it happily and seat on the Goddess lap.
It looked comical because they looked like sisters, Minerva looked like she was twelve years old and Nerva looked like she was five years old, in reality, the Goddess aged centuries, and the kitten was only a few months old.
The Goddess patted Nerva's head lovingly and then looked at Sol, "why are you looking for me all this time, don't you hate to make a wish to me?"
Sol was sweating because the Goddess had look through him, he really hates to make another favor but he did not really have anyone else to ask.
"I need your help to be stronger," He told her truthfully, he did not think he could outsmart the Goddess so he better be truthful.
"Hihihi, you have quite an insight, don't you? You are indeed strong for human current standard but it was just about time before you are left in the dust if you don't grow stronger" She giggled, The Goddess seemed to be pleased by his answer.
"So, how are you going to pay me back? If you are paying me back by that dried corpse then at most I can give you pointers." The Goddess did not waste her time and directly said that his sacrifice was not enough.

Sol felt a bit down, "It's fine, can you give me a pointer on how to get stronger?" he replied, Sol was not keen on doing the Goddess another favor so he would just take what he can.
"You are quite stingy, aren't you? Even though I wanted more child to play with" she teased him.
Seeing no reaction from Sol, Minerva turned serious, "ok, let's start. What do you know about God and Demigod?" she questioned him.
Sol needed some time to think and answered, "Gods are deity while Demigod is their descendant"
The Goddess shook her head, "Correct but inaccurate, Gods are those who have their own Divinity and Domain, while Demigods are those who have their own Divinity and power.
"Demigods are divided into three, Lesser Demigod, Minor Demigod, and Major Demigod, Gods are also divided into these three categories, Lesser God, Minor God, and Major God." She explained.
"Any question up to this point?" The Goddess looked at him.
"So, everyone with bloodline is Lesser Demigod?" he asked her, Sol was not familiar with the terminology so he better made it clear.
"No, everyone's bloodline was awakened by Apollo's Divinity, they are still mortal like the other without a bloodline." She shooked her head.
"the wolf your offered me and the snake you bond with was close to being a Lesser Demigod, for a creature the sign of being a Lesser Demigod is the ability to turn into a human"
"For a human, the sign that they have their own divinity is the ability to conjure something such as making fireball out of nothing or making armor out of nothing"
"You might have heard a story about mage or witch that throw fireball and thunder, they are what we call a Lesser Demigod." She explained to him in a way that easier for him to understand.
"The Evil Spirit you kill was barely a Lesser Demigod, Lesser demigod have some immunity toward those of mortals like how it ignored part of the snake's power."
"Minor Demigod are similar to Lesser Demigod, but there is a qualitative difference in power, they also have some immunity toward those weaker than them."
"Major Demigod is where the real godhood starts, they have stronger vitality and most importantly they are immortal unless someone kills them they could live forever." She emphasizes the part of immortality.
Sol was dumbfounded by this revelation, Sol thought no one lives forever unless they become a God or something.
"enough with your amazement, I'm going to continue," the Goddess pulled him from his stupor.
"As I said what differentiates Gods and a Demigods are Domain, Major God's domain are what create the law of the universe, Minor God domains are under the rule of Major God domain and Lesser God domains are under Minor God's." She finished her explanation.
"Do you have any questions?" The Goddess looked at him.
"Ah... How is knowing this make me stronger?" Sol was amazed by her explanation but he didn't know how any of this change his situation.
His question made the Goddess giggled, "You are being very impatient here Mr. Vestitor, Let me continue then"
"Being a Lesser Demigod is not easy, For Nerva, she could be Lesser Demigod just by growing older for she is my daughter, but for other with a bloodline, they need to master their power and over some sacrifice to the God to help them make Apollo's divinity as their own."
This puzzled Sol, even more, he did not have any bloodline so how can he be a Lesser Demigod?
"Once people start being demigod, their descendant will gain bloodline, and the number of Heirs will rise, this is the start of the New Age of God," She said seriously.
"You are a special case Mr. Vestitor, you have your own source your own spark of divinity, this means you are eligible to be a Demigod," She told him with a smirk, this gave him a shock.
"Then why am I weaker than others? Aren't Demigod suppose to be stronger?" he was puzzled by the revelation.
"Eligible does not equal to be one you know? Your spark is very small it's not enough to be considered Demigod level divinity." The Goddess said while playing with Nerva's hair.
"Then how do I grow this Spark?" Sol was very keen to grow stronger because trouble seems to find him every time.
"There are a few ways, you could start a cult and make people worship you, but it will attract the ire of the Gods" She giggled.
"You could also make a lot of bonds with strong creatures but it would give you the same demerit as your last bond, it might get you killed if the creature dies"
Sol had directly crossed both options as he was not seeking death but seeking a way to survive.
"Is there a safer option? One which doesn't include dying or offending the Gods?" he questions The Goddess.
"Hmm... You could also kill creatures that close to be a Lesser Demigod and steal their Divinity" she said lightly with a smile.
These made his scalp grow numb as he had known how strong were those creatures that almost become a Lesser Demigod, he could hardly survive against them.
"I'm sorry Your Cuteness, can you give me another solution?" He tried his luck.
"No, no, your pointer ends here, if you want more then you need to give me another sacrifice" she crossed her finger at him.
Sol felt like he has been conned as he had pay without getting any solution he wanted, "Maybe I should try to make a wish at the other temple" he lamented.
It was just him being depressed, there was very little chance that the other God and Goddess would meet him even if he brings sacrifice.
In the end, he left the temple alone because The Goddess wanted to talk to Nerva more, She told him to pick her up the next day.
That day was quite frustrating for him, first, he got forced to be a protector of the delegation party, second, he got conned by the Goddess.
"Hmm... I'm in quite a bad mood, maybe I could find Ashura and settle some debt with him" He mussed as he walked out of the temple.
Sol had not settled his grudge with the Heir of Mars ever since he has caught the man red-handed, the man was the source of all the rumor about him.
"Fuck that loudmouth, he could only gossip without telling any truth" Sol cursed at the man, "I had let you be because you are an Heir, now I have the power to seek justice lets see how I beat you," he fumed at himself.
When he gets to the camp of Mars, Ashura had welcomed him happily, he did not know that the man bared grudge at him.
