Chapter 62: Innocent
Chapter 62: Innocent
Sol woke up from Nerva's scream that day, The little girl had a habit of waking up early to wake him up.
"Hiya..." the kitten screamed in front of his tent, it was loud enough to alert everyone else.
Moon who had been awake since it was her time for night duty, arrived first beside the little girl, Nerva was squatting down by Sol's tent with both hands covering her eyes.
Moon hugged her protectively and scan the surrounding for any danger, before long, Miya, Tanya, and her personal guard also arrived there, they looked inside Sol's tent in shock.
Sol was also shocked by the kitten's scream, he quickly tried to get up in alert but his movement met with a resistance that he stopped midway in a sitting position.
He looked at the snow-white body who had been laying on top of his chest, it got pushed to the side from his sudden movement but Sol connected the dot and understand that the body was on top of him.
It was a slender girl with snow-white skin and dark blue hair, she was so beautiful that it made the heir of Venus ashamed.
Her snow-white skin was in full view, only some delicate part was hidden by a thin blanket Sol was using but everyone could clearly see that she was naked underneath.
Sol looked at the slowly awake girl in shock, she was familiar yet unfamiliar to him, only his intangible bond with the girl gave him the assurance that she was who he thought she was.
He raised his left arm to find the metallic blue snake was missing in its place he found a bite mark on his arm, it was not really an injury but dried blood.
"It really is Nerodia?" Sol mused, he looked at the girl beside him and compared her to the snake he had remembered.

He could find similarities like her slender body, her hair color, and the mark on her forehead but the difference was also too much for him to compare the two.
First, the girl clearly had a pair of legs instead of a long snake tail, second her skin tone clearly a lot paler than the snake he remembered and her face was also a lot more beautiful than the snake, to be fair, she was beautiful but the current her was even more so.
The last and most important reason was the girl in front of him did not feel like the strong predator Nerodia was, Sol could feel her strength was only a fraction of the former deadly predator she was.
"What happened to her?" Sol muttered, he was unsure about the snake, but there was a more urgent problem to think about.
He turned to the group of girls who had been staring at him, "This is not what you girls are thinking about" he tried to explain but the bite mark on his hand and neck did not make him look convincing at all.
The girl beside him finally regains her sense after a few seconds as she just waked up by the commotion.
"Kya..." she screamed and tried to cover her body with the blanket in embarrassment, Sol could feel the girls glare at him become sharper.
"Fuck! Why are you screaming too!" Sol lamented as he remembered Nerodia never show any shyness before even when she first become human at the temple of Minerva.
Before he had any chance to clear the misunderstanding, Sol was kicked out of the tent by the girls, a few minutes later, they came out with fully dressed Nerodia.
Sol used the chance to take a closer look at himself on the car's side mirror, he could find a few bite marks from dried blood on himself which he quickly wipes clean, other than that he finds himself fully clothed and his body smell alright.
"What is this blood mark?" Sol was confused, he tried to remember what happened last night but he could not remember anything other than going to sleep.
From looking at Nerodia's current condition then she should be at Lesser Demigod level because she had a human form, but Sol could not feel a strong presence from her like the presence of the evil spirit he had killed.
There are two types of creatures, the first type was like Nerodia and Blacky, they keep their animal form even after assimilating with a shard and the Second type was those evolve into a humanoid creature.
The first type would be a Titan on God level while the second type could be either a Titan or a Deity on God level.
Nerodia wanted the possibility of being a Deity by making the bond with Sol, while it had open the chance, it was by no means easy.
While she absorbed the blood of Moon's mother to gain the wolf's ability, it pushed her closer and closer toward the Demigod threshold but it by no mean what she hoped for.
It pushed her toward the path of Titan which was different than the path she wanted, She had the knowledge of ancient time from her bloodline so she knew that being a Titan was a dead end, while both Titan and Deity are equally strong, history proves that the former always being oppressed by the later.
In the end, she risked it all to go against the flow, Nerodia successfully advances on the Deity path at a cost.
Her current body was weaker than any Lesser Gemigod, even Sol's body was stronger than hers, she barely made it alive from the ordeal.
If Sol knew about it, he would have cursed her for risking his life with her.
When the girls came out of his tent, he saw Nerodia in feminine clothes which he guessed were Tanya's, she run at him and hid behind his back to escape from the girl's.
Sol was confused, since when the snake he knew become a shy little girl, "Nerodia, what happen to you?" he questioned the blue-haired girl only for her to tilt her head in confusion.
"Mr. Sol! Can you explain what happens? Who is this girl?" Tanya led the girls to interrogate him.
Sol tried to explain that the girl was Nerodia but her keeping her silent was not helping at all, she just hid behind his back to keep her distance from the girls that used her as a dress-up doll.
"Nerodia, can't you help me explain things?" Sol asked for help but she did not seem to understand him.
In the end, Sol needed to explain the old fashioned way, he explained their similarity and the missing snake on his left arm as proof.
Nerodia might have grown more beautiful and look younger but Nerva and the other could finally recognize her after Sol point it out.
It was convincing but there was one problem, why didn't Nerodia recognize Nerva and the girls. If she was Nerodia then she should have recognized them
"I think she lost her memories like all those dramas I have watched!" Tanya said boldly while acting like a detective.
Sol and the other tried to talk with Nerodia only to come up with the same conclusion as the heir of Venus.
Nerodia had turned into a shy and innocent girl, she did not remember anyone but her bond with Sol made her depend on him and trust him.
"Then Mr. Sol just do an unspeakable thing to someone who lost her memories! How despicable!" Tanya accused Sol.
"No! I was asleep last night! We did not do anything!" Sol tried to defend himself, he wanted to say that he never touch a woman before but Nerva's existence kind of made it hard for him to say so.
"Then how do you explain all those bite marks?" She did not give up.
"It's not a love bite, it was just blood mark, I don't know how I have those" he explained.
At that point, he looked at Nerva and realized that he just said something he should not say in front of a child.
"Ah, you know, love bite is when someone loves each other and the play bite with one another," He tried to bullshit his way out of it.
Nerva being sensible to her father's antic and nodded her head in fake belief, Sol sighed in relief.
He was about to continue his explanation but he felt something cupping his neck and he could sense his blood flowed out.
It was Nerodia, she instinctively drank Sol's blood to recover her strength as he had a close connection with her and his blood could aid her recovery.
Sol did not feel any pain from the bite, only a bit numb from it, "Fuck! Did she become a vampire or something?" Sol lamented.
After the bite mark mystery was solved, their discussion finally made some progress, Sol and the others decide to pack up and continue their journey.
Sol already felt tired, "I hope today won't be as bad as it started" he prayed
