Chapter 8 – On a Small Scale (小打小闹)
Jing Yunzhao exited the space and put on an anxious look before she ran out of the room and banged onto the bathroom door.
“Hongye! Hurry up...I can’t hold it anymore...” Jing Yunzhao purposely called out.
Inside, Hongye heard her and continued guarding the bathroom, “Jiejie, I think I ate something bad today. My stomach hurts too much. You should go somewhere else to resolve your problem...”
Somewhere else? The Qiao’s weren’t a wealthy family and only had one bathroom in the entire house. Qiao Hongye added the laxatives herself, would she not know how e?ective it was? If Jing Yunzhao were to walk down the stairs with an upset stomach of the intensity she had had in her past life, her clothes would get dirty without getting too far.

Jing Yunzhao’s stomach was fine now, but she wasn’t stupid enough to be mad at this kind of person. She only stood outside the door and said, “Then... I’ll wait for you...”
She was positive that if she said that, Qiao Hongye would stay in the bathroom and refuse to come out!
As expected, even after Jing Yunzhao returned to her room, Hongye still showed no signs of leaving the bathroom.
Approximately every ten minutes, Jing Yunzhao would knock on the door, increasing the hint of anxiety in her voice after each time. Her words had also turned into something similar to begging. Qiao Hongye who was in the bathroom was confused. According to the dosage that she had given her, Jing Yunzhao should already have lost control a long time ago, but why was she still only feeling uncomfortable?
No matter what, Jing Yunzhao should still be at the height of her discomfort. If she can hold it that well, then she can just hold it in forever!
The rest of the family didn’t know what Qiao Hongye and Jing Yunzhao were doing. Qiao Weimin couldn’t hold it in since he drank a little too much that night, but Qiao Hongye refused to come out. No matter how forgiving Qiao Weimin was towards his biological daughter, there would still be times when he couldn’t tolerate her antics.
“Are you laying a fucking egg in there?! Get the fuck out!” Qiao Weimin screamed, his whole body reeking of alcohol. Even Qiao Hongye could feel his impatience and anger.
Qiao Hongye always had an image of a good, obedient child. Sometimes she would trip Jing Yunzhao, but she’d never do anything unfilial in public. After all, her reputation was very important to her.
Qiao Hongye opened the door immediately the moment she heard Qiao Weimin’s roar.
Qiao Weimin swiftly pulled her out of the way, and the power he exerted was not light. Qiao Hongye’s originally didn’t have much strength in her, thus she slammed against the wall and fell hard onto the floor.
“What’s wrong, Hongye? Can’t you stand?” Jing Yunzhao sneered as she leaned against her bedroom doorway.
The Jing Yunzhao standing before Qiao Hongye was calm and collected, unlike the one who was begging her to leave the bathroom just a while ago. Seeing Jing Yunzhao acting as if the porridge had absolutely no e?ect on her made Qiao Hongye pause. She blurted out, “How... are you fine?”
“My stomach did feel a little uncomfortable before, but I’m fine now. On the contrary, you were in the bathroom for a long time. You wouldn’t happen to have a special reason for that, would you?” Jing Yunzhao sneered.
Qiao Hongye listened and she choked on her breath, unable to retort.
She stood up unsteadily and rushed towards her own room. It was only a few steps distance away, but she couldn’t maintain her balance and fell a few more times. It was not unreasonable though, she had been in the bathroom for hours. It would have been weird if her legs hadn’t fallen asleep!
Jing Yunzhao looked at Qiao Hongye’s miserable state and coldness flashed in her eyes. This was only revenge on a small scale, it will never be enough to satisfy her!
Things went on as usual that night.
Ye Qin’s miserable illness-induced groans occasionally travelled from the master bedroom, and accompanying them were the snores of Qiao Weimin. It was just a little uncommon that there were not any movements from Qiao Hongye’s side.
Currently, Ye Qin’s illness was above Jing Yunzhao’s abilities, thus she never thought of trying to treat Ye Qin. Jing Yunzhao stayed in her space that night all the way till the next day, reading through the details of the jade piece’s information that had been absorbed into her mind.
