SpiderGwen: I have a system?!

Chapter 48: Chapter 48: Finders Keepers I

Chapter 48: Finders Keepers I

[3rd POV]

Walking through the Mountain, Gwen was walking with Teekl on her shoulder. Ready to get started with her solo mission.

She wasn't entirely sure what it was she was looking for, or what sort of power they'd give her, but she was certain they'd be of some sort of use.

'Considering the system is giving me a quest surrounding the objects, they've got to be strong and dangerous. They also are objects that I can actually use, so that narrows it down a decent bit' Gwen thought as she walked through the Mountain.

Walking into the kitchen, she smiled as she caught sight of M'gann.

"Hey babe" Gwen said as she walked forward and pecked her on the lips.

"Hi Gwen. What're you doing?" M'gann questioned, noticing that Gwen was seemingly going somewhere.

"I've got something to do as Doctor Fate, so I'm going to be gone for a little while" Gwen responded with a small smile.

"Can I come with you? Is it safe?" M'gann asked, worried for her girlfriend. She knew that Doctor Fate had a LOT of very dangerous, and very powerful enemies. Most of which were magical in nature, and were quite a bit stronger than most foes the team fought.

"Sorry baby, but it's something I've got to do on my own. When I get back I'll give you a gift, okay?" Gwen softly said, stroking M'ganns cheek, who leaned into the touch.

"Hmm, okay. But you better not get yourself hurt! And make sure to contact the team if anything goes wrong" M'gann said, a serious glint in her eyes. Gwen nodded and softly pecked her on the lips again, as Teekl meowed on her side.

"I've got to go love, but I should be back in a few days. And I promise I'll contact you if I need help" Gwen said, as they shared one last kiss, before she walked off.

'So, Nabu, where should we go first?' Gwen inwardly asked.

'There is one that is in the United States...it seems...familiar. I believe it will be the best place to start. The others are...unfamiliar and feel more...antagonistic' Nabu inwardly replied, causing Gwen to nod.

"I think they're related to me, Mistress. They feel familiar, but also unfamiliar. I think you should listen to Goldy and start with the one in the States, then go to the others' Teekl inwardly spoke, her voice sounding out inwardly.

'Hmm, so they're relate to Chaos and Order, huh...I think I might have a few ideas on what this could be' Gwen thought, before nodding.

'We'll start with Order, as if it is what I think it is, it'll be easier to claim for myself' Gwen inwardly decided.

'Now...let's see where it is'

[???????????]

"Ladies and gentlemen and everything in between!" A man said with a wide smile, a classy suit on, and a mask covering his face.

"This is the last object to be sold today, and is quite certainly the most interesting of the bunch!" The man continued, before pulling back a white cloth that was covering a glass container. Revealing a rather decently sized, feminine cloak.

"Not much is known about this cloak, but what we do know, is that it is a genuine cloak from the times of Pharoahs, and is believed to have been worn by Queen Cleopatra herself! Bids start out at 500,000 dollars!" The man said, as many people ooh'd at the information that Queen Cleopatra herself.

Not to mention it was a rather beautiful cloak that practically glowed. With small markings of purple over the gold covering of the cloak.

"We have 500,000!" The man started, as a older woman raised her bid.

"1 million dollars" A masculine voice sounded out, causing the man to grin wider.

"We've got 1 million dollars!"

"We've got 1.1 million dollars"

The bidding continued to rise as more and more rich snobs bid for what they deemed to be a

priceless artifact.

"4.5 million going once..."

"4.5 million going twice..."

"7.5 million dollars!" A voice boomed out, cutting the man off. Everyone turned and blinked at the sight of what looked to be a woman, with everything covered, and a simple black and white masquerade mask covering her face, and long white hair cascading behind her.

"8 million" A man said, the same one that had continued to bid for the object since the beginning.

"10 million" The woman countered, smiling as she saw the man growl in annoyance.

"15 million dollars!" The man yelled, his forehead twitched as his face began to redden in anger.

The woman snorted before continuing "25 million dollars"

'I could go all day, afterall, it's all you rich pieces of shits that is paying for this' The woman who was actually Gwen, thought. Her current form was almost a perfect copy of Black Cat from Marvel.

The man went silent as he glared at her with fury, while the auctioneer grinned.

"25 million going once..."

"25 million going twice..."

"...And sold! To the white haired woman in the mask!" The man said, happy with this. Afterall, he was making a shit ton of money out of this. Especially considering they didn't pay anything for the cloak, and simply found it.

The claim that it belonged to Cleopatra, was bullshit. They just used it to up the price, as they did with most things they sold.

"And that's all folks! For those that bought an item today, make sure to meet with our clerks in the front!" The man said with a smile, as the people slowly began to trickle out of the room. "You'll regret that bitch" The man who was bidding the entire time, muttered to Gwen as he walked by.

Gwen raised an eyebrow at the man, before shrugging and walking out.

She was currently at an underground blackmarket auction. Normally she'd have expected someone to try and rob the place, but this auction in question, was backed by some rather powerful gangs that not even rich snobs want to mess with. That, and there wasn't any rules from stealing after they left the underground auction house.

Walking to the front, she walked to the clerk "Ah, you are the one who bought the cloak for 25 million, correct?" The man asked behind the desk.

Gwen nodded.

"We'll get the cloak ready, you simply need to pay and then it's yours" The man said, causing

Gwen to nod.

"I already did, it should be transferring in, in a few moments" Gwen responded, causing the man to blink and look down to his tablet.

After a few moments he nodded "Everything seems to be in order. Give me a few moments

while I go and get the cloak"

Gwen nodded and yawned.

'This is a lot more...anticlimactic then I was expecting to be honest. I know that idiot is going to be waiting for me, and I know he more than likely has ties to a member of the Light, but still' Gwen thought in boredom, only to hear Nabu's voice in her head.

'Gwen, it would seem there is not just one artifact of similarity to me here, but two. I can sense another nearby, but it's more...cloaked and hidden' Nabu spoke inside her head,

causing Gwen to blink.

'Well alright then, looks like I'm getting two artifacts here' Gwen thought, as the man walked back, the cloak within a large glass case.

"Here you are m'am. Is there anything else you may need? We are willing to sell some of the

objects in storage, if you are interested" The man said, trying to get more money out of a rich "snob". The objects in storage were all ones that hadn't sold in an auction, and no one was

interested in buying.

"Hmm, do you have a list of the objects?" Gwen asked, causing the man to nod and hand her a

paper.

Looking down at it, most of the objects were junk, but there was one that caught her and

Nabu's interest.

'Those gauntlets are what's familiar, child. I believe I may know what the cloak and

gauntlet's are. But whatever you do, you must get those gauntlets' Nabu spoke inwardly,

causing Gwen to look up to the man.

"Those gauntlets, how much for them?" Gwen asked, looking to the man.

"Hmm? Those things? 500k, they are... hard to sell, admittedly. So we are willing to part with

them for a cheap price" The man said truthfully, as those gauntlets had been sitting in

storage for months now.

"I'll take them as well, I've just transferred the money" Gwen said, as the man checked his tablet once more. A smile formed on his face as he nodded.

"I'll bring them here as well, give me a few moments" The man said, before leaving once

more.

After another minute, he returned with the gauntlets. They were in a smaller glass box.

"Thank you for your patronage!" The man said with a smile, as Gwen walked out with the two objects in hand. Neither of them were out of their respective glass boxes just yet, but she planned on taking care of the man who was about to jump her, and then leave with them.

Walking into a nearby alleyway, Gwen rolled her eyes as the man walked out from around the corner, alongside a dozen or so others.

"Give me the cloak and I'll let you live!" The man said with a snarl, while Gwen rolled her

eyes, and looked him in the eyes.

"So Lex Luthor huh? Not surprising really" Gwen said with a hum, after reading through his

mind after a few moments.

The man blinked in confusion, before his eyes widened "Kill her!"

Gwen rolled her eyes, and clenched her fist, as every single individual in the alley, all had their necks snapped in an instant, all through the power of the force.

Glancing at the body of the man, she burnt them all to ash, before teleporting off with the two

objects.

Gwen reappeared inside the Tower of Fate. She could teleport there from anywhere, and it had become a sort of safe haven for her to go when she wanted some alone time. Looking to the two glass cases, she inwardly asked 'Which one should I start with, Nabu?'

'I would suggest starting with the Cloak. It is the object you were initially here for, and I believe it is stronger than the gauntlets' Nabu inwardly spoke, as Gwen nodded. Opening the glass case, she breathed in and grabbed the Cloak, before pulling it over her

shoulders.

[The cloak]

As the cloak was pulled over her shoulders, she was pulled into her mindscape.

Blinking, she looked and noticed Teekl and Nabu were there. But there was...another,

feminine being there.

"Nabu...it has been...quite some time" The large glowing woman spoke, as she looked to

Nabu's helmet self.

"Cyra...it truly has. What brings you to the mortal realm? You usually are quite...against the idea of intervening physically" Nabu asked, looking to his fellow Lord of Order. "Nabu, your host is the cause. She has broken the very laws of reality, and many of us Lords

of Order wished to see what made you choose her. I was going to find myself a host of my own, but it seems your host found me before I could" Cyra, the Lord of Order, spoke. "And it seems that...Lord of Chaos is here as well" Cyra spoke, glancing at Teekl, who was

sitting protectively behind Gwen.

"While my host has broken the laws of reality, she has also proven to be a more perfect host

than any other I have ever had. I would not stay bound to her, if I did not trust in her, and in her capabilities. Simply look at her soul, Cyra, and you will see why it is I chose her" Nabu spoke to her, causing Cyra to go silent.

'This is a hell of a lot more interesting than I was expecting. Who knew Lords of Order were

actually pretty respectful? I was half expecting a fight to break out' Gwen thought as Cyra went silent, before the large Lord of Chaos's eyes widened.

"This...her soul is the perfect combination of Order and Chaos? Both Orderly and Chaotic at the same time...a perfect Yin and Yang. How is this possible, Nabu? No normal soul can have such...balance within them" Cyra asked, looking to Nabu.

"That is not my story to tell, it is entirely up to Gwen on whether or not she reveals this to

you" Nabu spoke.

"It's fine" Gwen said with a shrug, as she would just show the same memories she showed

Nabu.

'System, go ahead and show her the same set of memories I showed Nabu, nothing more than that. Don't want her seeing my more...negative memories, afterall' Gwen thought, knowing that the memories of the Doctor...those memories could legitimately break a normal person.

[Allowing being known as: Cyra, to preview the hosts memories from their various "characters"/"lives", only the same set that Nabu had seen]

As the system sounded that out, Cyra went silent as she began to go through the memories

she was given permission to see.

A few moments passed as Cyra's eyes widened.

"I see now...you're an amalgamation of souls. A perfect unity that allows for both Chaos and Order...I see now why Nabu chose you" Cyra said, slight awe in her normally apathetic tone. "...You wish for me to grant her my power, as you have, don't you, Nabu? Allow her to

become my host, making her the host of 2 Lords of Order, and a "Lord of Chaos". And I

suppose you will do the same with the gauntlets as well" Cyra spoke to Nabu, who nodded his large helmet head.

"I believe it to be the best option. You and I both know what sort of changes she can bring to not just our universe, but the wider multiverse. I believe that she is the perfect host for our power, and it would be a waste to choose anyone else. She will bring out more power than

any host of yours could ever hope to achieve" Nabu said, trying to persuade his fellow Lord of

Order.

"You need not try and persuade me, Nabu. The moment I was shown those memories, I decided. As long as she does not go against the Order that you and I strive to uphold - to an immense degree - then I shall allow her to be my host, just as you have. She will have my power at her disposal, and will give her the title as "Sister Symmetry!""

"Thank you, Cyra" Gwen said with a smile, as she felt power begin to pour into her, just as it

had when she got the Helmet of Fate.

[The Cloak of Cyra is now bound to you, unless you go against its very being. Due to this, the

Cloak, therefore Cyra, will grow more powerful the more magically powerful you grow. With potential to grow to the same power level as...it's comic counterpart]

As she read those words, Gwen inwardly grinned in happiness. "Welcome to the team, Cyra!"

"...I suppose I am happy to be here, child. But, I am not as talkative as Nabu, so I shall leave

you to your devices, use my power, and the cloak, well" Cyra spoke, before fading. "Are all Lords of Order that quiet?"

"Most of them. I am considered talkative in comparison" Nabu replied, before continuing

"Now, I believe it would be best you do the same with the Gauntlets"

Gwen nodded, as she was pulled out of her mindscape. Blinking, she looked down to her neck. 'Looks like the Cloak did the same as the helmet. It's just the chain that holds the helmet now...' Gwen thought, noticing the softly glowing gold chain that now held the Helmet of

Fate.

'Alright, now let's do the same with the Gauntlets' Gwen thought, as she grabbe the two gauntlets, and slipped them on.

Yet again, she was pulled into the mindscape. This time, it was another feminine being, but

different looking. "Ah...Nabu, I should have expected it would be your host to find my gauntlets" Myrath spoke, looking to the large golden helmet of her fellow Lord of Order.

"You already know what it is I want of you, Myrath. I'm certain you had listened in through

your sister" Nabu spoke, causing Gwen to blink.

'Cyra and Myrath are sisters? Interesting, I didn't even think Lords of Order had actual siblings' Gwen thought in interest, as she gazed at the large woman.

"I suppose you caught me, and yes, I was listening in. I am not entirely sure what you

showed my sister, but...if she agreed to become bound to this child, then I am rather certain

it was for good reason. May I see what it is you showed her? I know that you are an amalgamation of souls, but I still wish to see" Myrath asked, causing Gwen to shrug. "Sure" Gwen then had the system repeat the same thing with Myrath, as the large godlike being went silent.

It took a few moments, before the large being spoke.

"That certainly explains why my sister chose you. I suppose I shall be doing the same, under

the same rules my sister had put forth. You shall now be known as Lord Structure! You will

have my power at your disposal, just as my sister and Nabu. I do hope you use it well, child" Myrath spoke. "Well, it's good to have you here as well, Myrath" Gwen spoke, as she was inwardly wondering just how many Lords of Order she'd become a host to.

[The Gauntlets of Myrath is now bound to you, unless you go against its very being. Due to

this, the Gauntlets, therefore Myrath, will grow more powerful the more magically powerful you grow. With potential to grow to the same power level as...it's comic counterpart]

"I'll leave you to it child, as I have somethings to speak about to my dear sister" Myrath spoke, before fading away.

Gwen looked to Nabu "Are all Lords of Order so easy to persuade?" "Normally, no. However due to my acceptance of you, they find it easier to trust you" Nabu

replied, knowing that they wouldn't trust her in the slightest, if not for Nabu's trust in her, and the memories she showed them.

"So how strong are those two in comparison to you?"

"Weaker by a little bit, but are on par with one another. They are good additions to your power" Nabu responded, causing Gwen to nod after a few moments.

"Well then, I think I'm going to go ahead and return back" Gwen said, causing Nabu to reply.

"As you wish child" Nabu spoke, as she returned to the real world, and looked down to find

the gauntlets were now gloves.

'Not bad, inconspicuous and comfortable' Gwen thought with a smile, before noticing a

notification.

Hidden Artifact

Details - Find the hidden artifact that houses another Lord of Order, besides the one you

went there for!

Reward - 2 UL Tickets.

'Huh...neat' Gwen thought with a small smile, as she stretched. She could feel the new magic

inside her, waiting to be used. It was...definitely stronger than before, at least double the

power, probably beyond that. Walking through the Tower of Fate, Gwen made her way to her bedroom.

'We'll save those tickets until after I get the 5 from the quest' Gwen thought, as she walked

into her bedroom.

'I do wonder...why did the System call Myrath and Cyra idiotic? Perhaps because their artifacts

would have been easily stolen?' Gwen thought, deciding that that was the likely reason. As

their artifacts weren't exactly hard to find and get her hands on.

Slowly she laid in her bed, as she allowed herself to slowly close her eyes, as sleep began to

overtake her.

'Tomorow, we find the next artifact'

That's the end of the chapter!

And yeah, those two artifacts are actual items in the comics, and Cyra and Myrath are both

genuine Lords of Order in the comics as well, but they don't have an appearance, and aren't really covered, so I came up with their personalities and appearances. They won't be mentioned often, only when she gets more items like the Lord of Order artifacts, and similar items. Otherwise, they'll leave most of the talking to Teekl and Nabu. Next chapter will be shorter, and will cover the next object, a more well known one at that.

Not sure how well this was written, but I tried my best!

Anyways, have a good day, see you tomorrow!
