Chapter 12: “Hogwarts”
Chapter 12: “Hogwarts”
The conflict with Malfoy was only a minor problem. Sean and Hermione got along very happily for the rest of the trip. Hermione had probably never seen such a person like him, they were going out for all topics of discussion, and Sean was perplexed about how she could keep up with many topics to discuss.
Although he always smiled and listened to each of her topics, Sean had to sigh, Hermione was so good at discussing things.
Sean felt the train slow down after a topic of ‘How do Nurmengard students get to school’. He glanced out the window, the dark purple mountains covered the woods at the foot of the mountain, and it was already dark.
“I think we have to change into robes.” He stood up.
After the two changed into plain robes, a voice sounded from the train.
“The train will arrive at Hogwarts in five minutes. Please leave your luggage on the train, and we’ll bring it to school later.”
Hermione squeezed her robe tightly and gulped. She glanced enviously at Sean, who had a calm face. This new friend was two months younger than her, but he looked amazing.
“Sean, have you ever thought about which house you will be assigned to?” She asked.
Sean thought for a moment and replied, “I think the four houses are very good. Slytherin has ambition, Gryffindor has courage, Ravenclaw is wise, and while Hufflepuffs seem to represent mediocrity in many people’s eyes, I think that is precisely the embodiment of their loyalty and generosity.”
Hermione was shocked by his answer.
Sean smiled, “Of course, if I can, I don’t want to go to Slytherin.”

A smile flashed in Hermione’s eyes, but she was still curious, “Why? Didn’t you say that every house is good?”
“The excellence of the house doesn’t hide the… behavior of the students,” he shrugged helplessly, “I come from a family without magic, and while I’d love to feel the glory of being in Slytherin, I don’t want to be in a situation where my housemates look down on me every single day.”
Hermione nodded in agreement, Malfoy and his group perfectly confirmed all this.
While the two were talking, the train’s speed gradually slowed down and finally stopped on the platform. Sean escorted Hermione to the platform amid the crowd.
The cold night in the Scottish Highlands made him shiver a little, and before he could stand still, Sean accidentally bumped into someone’s shoulder.
“Oh, I’m sorry.”
A figure with a black pointed hat turned around and glanced at him.
“Hey, is this where the first-year students should wait?” Hermione glanced curiously at the girl with long silver hair.
Sean smiled embarrassingly and whispered, “That’s a third-year senior.”
Hermione’s eyes widened at first. She shrank back in embarrassment, “She didn’t hear me, did she? It’s over. Am I being rude? What if I’m assigned to the same house as her…”
“It’s okay, she shouldn’t mind… right?”
While speaking, a loud voice resounded on the platform, “First-year students! First-year students, come here!”
Sean followed the voice. It was a burly-looking giant, his face almost completely hidden by his long tousled hair and tangled beard, but you could still see his black beetle-like eyes under his hair. It’s Hagrid.
Hagrid held a lantern and greeted the new students to move closer to him, and three kids circled in front of him.
“Hey, Hagrid!”
“Harry, my Goodness, You’re big now! You were just a little kid the last time I saw you. Hey, Neville and Ron, how are you?” The three have formed a new trio.
“They must be people from a wizarding family, right?” Hermione said.
“They should be.” Sean nodded.
His attention was focused on other aspects. It was too noisy on the platform, and he did not pay attention, but now he realizes that the number of students seemed to be a lot more than he expected. The new students are expected to be in the hundreds.
“Hey, Sean!” Harry greeted him.
“Harry! It’s nice to see you again.” He smiled.
“Neville, you remember him, right? Oh yeah, this is Ron.” Harry pointed to the red-haired boy and introduced him.
“Ron, it’s nice to meet you.”
“This is Hagrid, the gatekeeper at Hogwarts.”
“Hello, Mr. Hagrid. I’m Sean Wallup.” Sean also greeted, because of his high affinity for magical animals, he is much more enthusiastic about Hagrid now.
“Hello there, young man. Nice to meet you.” Hagrid bowed down and shook hands with Sean with his big hand.
Hagrid showed a smile. For some reason, he felt that the first impression of this little wizard in front of him was very good.
After greeting each other and seeing the students gathered, Hagrid raised the lantern and walked in.
“Come, follow me!”
When Hagrid turned around, Sean keenly noticed a broken pink umbrella on the inside of his coat. That should be Hagrid’s wand.
Sean frowned, that means Hagrid was expelled from school for being framed by Tom Riddle while he was still in school.
They followed Hagrid, and it was hard for them to follow as if going down a steep, narrow path. In the darkness, a new student beside him stumbled and was about to fall.
“Be careful.” Sean quickly supported a student with their hands and then let go of his hand immediately after the student gained his balance.
“Thank you very much.” The student said his thanks.
Seeing this, Hermione took out her wand, “Lumos.”
A faint light lit up, although there was only a small mass, but at least they could see clearly under their feet.
“Nice spell.” Sean said in admiration with a smile.
After a group of people stumbled for a while, they suddenly saw a bright light, and everyone exclaimed.
On the opposite side of the dark lake are towers, towering castles are brightly lit, and windows are shining under the stars.
“All aboard! No more than four people per boat. Once you’re all set, let’s go!” Hagrid took a boat by himself and led the boat to the other side of the lake.
After walking over the cliff and passing through the woods, they came ashore at a place paved with gravel.
He was looking at the ancient and solemn castle in front of him. Standing in front of the huge oak door, Sean gradually opened his mouth. His smile became more and more bright, and the enthusiasm in his heart became more and more excited.
He finally arrived at Hogwarts.
