Chapter 3: Space Pirates
On the command deck of the Obscurus, as expected, he couldn't pinpoint the location of the spaceship with the galaxy or anything. It was completely cut out and he had no data about anything.
He shouldn't be really surprised by this because the ship wasn't connected to anything; for that, he didn't even know where he was... if he was even in the game world?
In many novels and fanfics, such transmigrations were as common as cabbage. Apparently, he had some System that was supposed to work as his cheat; as far as it could go, it did a good job with the starting point.
But aside from that, he noticed that the Star Citizen Online System was completely dormant and the most he could see was his status screen and that of his spaceship.
[The condition of the ship is at 100%; we are ready to start the flight.]
He then heard the rather creepy voice of a little girl who belonged to the central artificial intelligence that was controlling the entire ship. It was modeled after the A.I. from the Red Queen of Resident Evil and it was creepy as fuck.
He didn't know why he paid one hundred euros for this pack.
It probably looked cool when he played the game, but in real life, as it is right now, it was giving him the creeps. The A.I. looked very realistic and he could swear that the machine already had consciousness and was self-thinking.
"Thank you, Alice..."
And aside from that, he didn't have any items or anything on my person aside from the things that he chose in the questionnaire... The things that he filled in the questionnaire were the Obscurus, Aetherius and Swordsmanship Skill.
'Now, thinking about it, I should have chosen my Universal Credit Account. Now all of my painstakingly saved wealth was gone; I want to cry.'
In the world of Star Citizen Online, physical banknotes and other types of currencies were considered obsolete long ago. Practically all advanced space-faring civilizations were using electronic currencies.
And the Universally accepted currency was the UC = Universal Credit that was issued by the Bank of the Universe. The Universal Credit was the strongest currency and was accepted by any and all factions across the entire Star Citizen Online.
If he had chosen his Universal Credit Account, then he would have been able to live comfortably in some super-rich area for tens of generations.

While he wasn't a professional player or the best player, if there was one thing that he was good at, it was grinding and using real money to buy things when they were in sale. Like many other things, Online Games also had their sales, where one could have bought items for real money for way less.
And as Arcturus wasn't doing much aside from writing, reading and playing, he always got the best offers and deals. If not for that, he wouldn't have this spaceship because, for the average player, it was very hard to get their hands on a spaceship.
Each one of them was very expensive and required additional conditions.
[Warning. We are currently being scanned by an unidentified ship.]
[Searching through the database.]
[Zero matches.]
[Calculating based on the ship parameters.]
[Dimensions of the ship fit that of a Cruiser of unknown type, accompanied by three corvettes. The probability of the ships being pirates has been calculated to be 97,88%.]
Arcturus heard the Central Artificial Intelligence of the Obscurus, Red Queen Alice, saying as his eyes almost shined in anticipation and his body was shivering a bit.
Which was rather weird, considering his situation, but right now, his heart was throbbing.
Arcuturs looked through the window of the commanding deck of Obscurus and saw there several ships that were all in rather very bad condition and some of their parts looked like they were forcibly patched up together.
This was just screaming the "space pirate" probably more than anything.
He started sweating a bit, and his hands were shaking a bit. The adrenaline was jumping to high levels, and at the same time, he was feeling the feeling that he had thought to be long ago forgotten.
The feeling of being alive.
He realized that he was excited at the prospect of the fight; something primal was waking up in his being, something his people long ago had but forgotten how to use.
"That was rather fast..."
There were thousands of thoughts in his head before the transparent window popped out of the Star Citizen Online System.
[Mission: Pirate Attack
Description: Destroy the Pirate Crew attempting to rob your ship.
Reward: ??? Genetic Template Serum (variation based on performance)]
The mission was relatively simple, and it was to destroy the pirates.
This was a rather common mission for many players within Star Citizen Online, as there were countless Space Pirates, Star Mercenaries or Ravengers roaming the endless cold depths of space.
One could never be sure when they would be attacked by some scum of the space, especially in the space regions that were lawless or didn't have anyone patrolling them.
Though, the most staggering thing in this mission was the reward... Genetic Template Serum was basically speaking, High-Level Reward. It wasn't something that was not even remotely worth a lowly low-ranking mission like this.
He knew that Genetic Template Serumes served for what was known as Race Change within the game or Racial Enhacnement. Either way, it would be another thing that would greatly enhance his strength very possibly.
"Now, back to the pirates. Alice, scan the ships."
Arcturus immediately ordered the A.I. as it went to the job and scanned the ships of the pirates in mere moments.
[Scan of the hostile space vessels complete.]
[Weapon Systems of the ships are mainly kinetic based, with only the main weapon of the Cruiser being a Laser Gun, albeit primitive by the standards of Obscurus.]
This made him sigh in relief, considering that the ships were far too primitive to even scratch the Shields.
However, that was highly predictable because there was no way that kinetic-based weaponry based on mass-acceleration technology could damage something so advanced as the Void Shields; even though they were lowest grade, it was still of Military-Grade Technology.
