Chapter 75: Valuable Gift Pack!
[Ding! You've opened your new gift pack!]
[Congratulations, User, on getting these rewards! You've received the following: +200 Fate Value, +6,000 UPs, Hero's Kismet Scroll x1, One-Fourth of Great Water Mage's Arsenal (Great Water Robe), One-Fourth of Great Water Mage's Arsenal (Great Water Staff, Aquilas), High-tier Water Elemental (Oceanis) x1, High-tier Fire Elemental (Scorchlord) x1, High-tier Red Health Potion x20!]
Vritra was caught off guard by the rewards.
At first glance, none of them seemed particularly special, at least not by name or from his past experience. Still, many of these items could easily be considered better than the gifts he had pulled from his storage chest a few months ago.
Curious, he began clicking through the screen, opening up more detailed information about each one.
[Great Water Mage Arsenal…]
[This arsenal belongs to one of the top five most powerful water mages in the Central Continent. It includes four items: a magic robe, a magic staff, a magic ring, and a magic amulet. Together, these items grant the wearer, if they have water-based magic, the power to become the next great water mage.]
To gain access to [Water Magic], Vritra first needed to have [Blue Magic], which he didn't possess.
However, even if he could acquire it at some point using the System, water wasn't really his favorite element. Despite its terrifying strength and versatility, he preferred something more destructive.
For him, colors like [Purple Magic] or [Red Magic] were much better options, as both had a countless world-destroying magic aspects.
Vritra placed a finger on his chin and hummed.
『I think I know who I'll give it to…』
He opened the swiped to the next item.
[High-tier Fire Elemental (Scorchlord)]
[This was a main summon used by Klaus von Euford, one of the greatest summoners, during the Second Calamity War. Its soul was destroyed, but it has managed to return to the Villain, whose rising Fate Value seems to have attracted the attention of its broken soul. Scorchlord has the ability to create Type-5 magic phenomena and has not yet reached its next evolutionary stage.]
The Scorchlord looked really impressive, both in appearance and stats, but Vritra didn't linger on it for long.
He quickly swiped to the next screen, already knowing exactly who he wanted to give it to.
『Now, on to the water summon…』

He opened up a new screen.
[High-tier Water Summon (Oceanis)]
[In the depths of a dimension known as the Endless Abyss, Oceanis was born from the tears of ancient sea gods who mourned the loss of their world during the Great Cosmic Flood.]
[Oceanis was once a loyal servant to Aeloria, a respected water mage. It had immense power over tides and storms, able to summon massive whirlpools and rainstorms with just a flick of its fin. During the Cataclysm of the Shattered Seas, Aeloria was defeated in battle, and Oceanis's essence was scattered among the cosmic waves. Now, it has reawakened and decided to serve the Villain.]
[This summon can also create Type-5 magic phenomena and has an organic soul.]
This summon seemed way more interesting than the last one, especially since it was a heroine from a parallel world.
But that wasn't the only interesting thing about it.
『The heroine from this parallel world seems to have died, but it doesn't make sense for her to have such an unfulfilling ending. Maybe she exhausted her Fate Value, or did her villain have a higher Fate Value than her? That seems really unlikely, especially since she's the heroine.
『On top of that, it's mentioned that she has an organic soul, which likely means this summon can have more awareness than the average summon. When I say [average summon] I'm not talking about strength, but rather about randomness.
… Hrmm, there are god-tier summons that lack organic souls, but those are pretty rare.
『For summons from the supreme-tier to low-tier, anyone can have an organic soul, and it just depends on luck. Given that this summon originally belonged to a heroine, I'm sure its character developed enough to earn an organic soul from a higher existence.
『Yeah, that's probably it…』
He knew this summon would also go to the same person.
Most of the rewards he'd gotten from the System weren't exactly useful to him, but that actually made gave them more valuable.
"Next…"
Vritra swiped to the next item.
[High-tier Red Health Potion]
[There are three colors of health potions: green, yellow, and red. Each color is divided into four tiers: low-tier, mid-tier, high-tier, and supreme-tier. Green health potions are the least effective, while red health potions are the most powerful and hard to find. To meet the System's objectives, you've managed to acquire 20 high-tier red health potions!]
The System's cold, mechanical voice explained easily.
However, Vritra already had some knowledge about the health potions from Luciana.
Duranzia spent a lot of its resources creating mid-tier red health potions, but they were hardly ever sufficient. That's why the militia in the nation wore strong armor to help limit their use of these red health potions.
Now, Vritra had 20 high-tier potions, and just one bottle was powerful enough to put many potion shops out of business because of its cost and effectiveness.
『Still… I have no interests in giving some to them.』
The young lord shrugged casually.
He moved to the next and final item.
That's when something unusual happened: the screen for the last item started glowing bright blue. This caught Vritra's attention right away because he could tell that this item was likely more special than the others.
[Congratulations, User! You've just received the Hero's Kismet Scroll! Notice, the System has transformed it for the User, and now you have the Villain's Kismet Scroll instead!]
He clicked open the item again.
[Villain's Kismet Scroll]
[This is a power scroll made from a page ripped out of a higher existence's book. With this scroll, you can change the course of a hero's story by writing a new scenario, as long as it makes sense within the story's framework. With a Fate Value of 80000, you could even create an entirely new world!]
This alone made Vritra smile.
While he probably wouldn't use most of the other items he received, this one felt like it was made just for the Villain.
Expectedly, he only had one, so he couldn't just pull it out whenever he wanted to reshape the world.
In a way, Vritra didn't want a lot of items like this because having them would make him too complacent and unsatisfied.
He enjoyed the challenge, no matter how long it lasted.
But he also had concerns…
By existing in this story, he was already changing fate and altering how things were supposed to go. So, what would happen if he used this omnipotent artifact to change the fate of a hero or even a heroine?
『Excellent…』
A mad grin took shape on Vritra's face.

…
"Wow, that's surprisingly a lot…"
Vritra now had more items than he knew what to do with.
Or at least, that was how the situation was presenting itself in the sense that he was yet to face any dangers that would force him to use even half the magic or items he had under his belt.
And he believed it would continue to be that way because in the Central Continent, those who had the power to eliminate him were very few and far between.
"My [Void Dragon Heart], the [God Star], and all of Vritra's memories that I still need to recover… once I have all of that, I'll finally be arrogant enough to crush Rohan under my own hand and wipe out anyone who dares to fight alongside him."
He clutched his chest, fighting to contain his excitement.
This was one of the rare moments when he could feel his whole body tremble and every hair stand on end.
The idea of putting that arrogant Fiendcelestial in his place was one of the few things that really drove him.
"I refuse to answer to anyone…"
