Chapter 985: The Tribulation From The Outworld

The Mirror of Kunlun radiated a brilliant light, bridging the passages between Pangu World and several outworlds.
Pangu World was a complete, perfect world. Its Heavenly Dao was complex and complete—the elements of earth, water, fire, and wind had constructed an orderly world, and everything ran like a sophisticated machine. The species of the world were complex and varied, with thousands of subspecies of the human race alone, not to mention other plants and trees, insects, fishes, birds, and animals, as well as new hybrids derived from them.
The outworlds, on the other hand, could not be considered as complete worlds at all, but interstitial space that happened to be born from chaos. These worlds were often supported by only two or three principal laws, such as fire, thunder, or ice. The aborigines among them were monotonous; some of the worlds considered extremely flourishing barely had hundreds of species, and most of them had only one or two species born out of the principle laws.
However, because of the harsh environment and living conditions, the species in the outworlds were extremely strong. Even a beetle from one of those worlds was as formidable as a savage beast or a demon in Pangu World. As for their top-tier creatures, it was normal for their cultivation base to be nearly as good as the Dao Reasoning and Dao Breaking experts.
Lei Meng, the Ancestral God worshiped by Wu Qi, and Hei Mo, the Ancestral God worshiped by King Yang Shan, were both the experts from these outworlds. They could not break through the layers of obstruction in the boundless space, and could not find the exact location of Pangu World, so they had to rely on the spells that summoned them to project their avatars on Pangu Continent and enjoy the blood offerings, then pay the person who made the offerings with enormous power.
But now, using the power of the Mirror of Kunlun, Prince Chang Qin had opened dozens of portals to the outworlds, connecting them with Pangu World.

Over his long years in the Ghost Realm, Chang Qin had spent every day scanning the outworlds with the Mirror of Kunlun. Those who knew his existence thought he was nothing but the eyes and ears the human race had sent to watch over the Ghost Realm, Heaven, and Buddhist League. Even the seven Buddhism Patriarchs and the nine Dao Patriarchs, the most cunning of all, did not expect that he was actually Empress Wa’s best killer, the vanguard of the human race’s counterattack against them.
Countless terrible beings with bizarre appearances walked out of the portals, laughing wildly as they swarmed toward the army of heavenly ghosts surrounding Mount Kunlun like a rising tide. Hissing and roaring sharply, the heavenly ghosts launched a counterattack. Those heavenly ghosts who stood over a thousand miles tall breathed ice and fire, waved their huge and strong arms, and flicked their flexible long tails as they frantically leaped over to the enemy.
A gigantic beast who stood three thousand miles tall, shaped like an elephant but having six long tusks and eight legs while being surrounded by faint bolts of lightning, barged out of a portal with an expert of the outworld riding on its back. The Fiend God looked almost like a human, except for her one-thousand-miles height and six pairs of arms; nonetheless, she was beautiful. Glancing disdainfully at the few Sky Ghosts rushing toward her, she waved her seemingly slender and fair arm. Suddenly, countless extremely fine blade lights flashed across the void, chopping these heavenly ghosts to pieces before they could even see the blade the Fiend God was holding.
The beautiful Fiend God grabbed hold of a strong leg that belonged to one of the Sky Ghosts and took a deep breath. In just a flash, the leg, hundreds of miles long, rotted and decayed. All of its life force and blood were sucked away by her, and it turned into pale gray dust, drifting away in the breeze.
“Fresh and delicious! Boys, we have come to a place where food is in abundance!” The Fiend God raised an arm and cried out delightfully, “This is the blessing from our Ancestors! We have come to the legendary blessed land with food aplenty!”
These Fiend Gods of the outworlds had extremely terrifying divine sense. Their languages, although different from the common language of the Pangu Continent, contained their powerful divine sense. So, as her voice swept out in all directions, anyone who heard it could understand the meaning of her words.
One giant elephant-like beast after another strode out of the portal, on the back of each rode three to five, or thirty to fifty Fiend Gods with one to five pairs of arms. Few had six pairs of arms like the female Fiend God. Under the bright light of the Mirror of Kunlun, there were only about a hundred such Fiend Gods.
The savage and ferocious heavenly ghosts knew no fear, and they came pouring over from all directions to fight the invaders. But, the Fiend Gods were able to kill them effortlessly by just swinging their arms. Countless blade lights interweaved into a huge net in the void, slicing the heavenly ghosts who touched it into pieces. The Fiend Gods happily opened their mouths and inhaled, sucking away the life force and blood of these sliced heavenly ghosts and turning them into ashes.
A deep, stuffy sound of drumbeats rang out of the portal where these Fiend Gods came through, along with dark clouds and a horde of creatures, who looked as queer as the Yaksha. It seemed that they were the slaves of the multi-armed Fiend Gods. They formed an orderly rank and launched a head-on clash with the army of heavenly ghosts. As soon as the slave army appeared, the multi-armed Fiend Gods stopped their slaughter and began to roar triumphantly while talking with one another about which army was stronger.
This was the first time the heavenly ghosts came in contact with enemies who were as fearless of death, strong, ferocious, and savage as them. As a result, the savagery in their bones was triggered instantly. Roaring furiously, they launched themselves into the enemy horde, and some even self-detonated, blowing many enemies into pieces.
The heavenly ghosts had put their innate ability to good use as they began to break into the void, attacking the enemies here and there like spirits. As a result, the horde that came from the outworld immediately suffered a great loss. The Heavenly Dao of the Pangu World had restricted part of their power, so although their flesh was as strong and they were as fierce, they were no match of the heavenly ghosts who could travel through the void at will.
The laughter of the multi-armed Fiend Gods came to an abrupt stop. The fact that their slave army was losing had put them to shame, and they all snorted sulkily. However, it seemed that they had some very unique tradition, as even though their slaves were beaten bloody by the heavenly ghosts, they did not strike.
All of a sudden, a dreadful howl rang across the void, turning into a dark blast wave visible to the naked eyes and sweeping out in all directions. Amidst the blast, the heavenly ghosts grew agiler and stronger while the slave army was blown to pieces.
The ground was shaking, and the mountains and hills in the surroundings collapsed at the same time. Pools of quicksand, seas of fire, rivers of lava, and many natural hazards surrounding Mount Kunlun crumbled and disintegrated. Somewhere less than a thousand miles from the mountain, a piece of flatland about tens of thousands of miles in diameter suddenly caved in, revealing an enormous hole that was pitch black. From within, plumes of ghostly aura towered into the sky and a hoarse voice, unpleasant to the ears as if it had not spoken for millions of years, rang out faintly, “Do you have to push this far? We were friends for so long! Heh, you all will have to die for behaving atrociously in my Ghost Realm!”
The light of the Kunlun Mirror flickered, and the portals in the void abruptly grew a few times larger, allowing more multi-armed Fiend Gods to rush out.
The beautiful Fiend God, who was the first to rush into the Ghost Realm, raised her arm and cried out a few orders. With her voice, the other Fiend Gods immediately took the army of countless slaves and ran into the distance in a dozen torrents. Meanwhile, she flew off her mount and kicked it away, looking carefully into the huge sinkhole.
The deep voice rang out of the sinkhole once again, “Prince Chang Qin, the heir of Zhuanxu and the descendant of the Yellow Emperor Xuanyuan...why are you not shutting down the Mirror of Kunlun? Do you really want to destroy my Ghost Realm?”
Prince Chang Qin’s sneer came ringing out of the Mirror of Kunlun, “Gui Tunluo, if the Ghost Realm is destroyed, the greatest responsibility lies with you! Would the thirteen Great Heavenly Ghost Kings and the eight hundred Ghost Saints have the guts to leave this place and join the Buddhist League if it weren’t for your approval?”
There was a long silence before Gui Tunluo spoke again, “Can’t we, the heavenly ghosts, have a place in Pangu Continent?”
“Pangu Continent is the home of the human race, a fact that is recognized by the Heavenly Dao. It can only be controlled by the human race, and anyone who dares to covet it better prepare to be wiped out along with his entire clan! Gui Tunluo, you have been hiding in the Ghost Realm for so many years and have avoided countless Apocalypses. Now that you have shown yourself, it is time for you to perish!”
Gui Tunluo snorted and said angrily, “You little punk who doesn’t know the height of the heavens and the depth of the earth! Your ancestors were not even born when I was at the peak! Heh, how could I have been in seclusion for so many years if I hadn’t been accidentally sucked into the ghost aura and forced to convert into a heavenly ghost?!”
Suddenly, two huge purple claws, each measuring at least a thousand miles in circumference, stretched out of the sinkhole and grabbed hold of the ground, effortlessly crushing a few mountains. “Well, let me slaughter this group of foreign fools first before I settle the score with you, little punk!” Gui Tunluo laughed grimly. “Heh, it is true that I lack the courage to give Empress Wa trouble, for she has fused with the Dao. But, who do you think you are to piss over my head?”
Plumes of ghostly aura rose into the sky. With a burst of husky laughter, a huge ghost head, about a thousand and five hundred miles in height, slowly emerged from the dark smoke. It made people wonder how enormous Gui Tunluo’s true form was, with his claw stretching a thousand miles long and a head so enormous?
The beautiful Fiend God, who was on the alert and combat-ready, trembled and suddenly uttered a wild roar, then took the initiative and launched an attack against Gui Tunluo.
Countless blade lights rained down toward Gui Tunluo’s head like a meteor shower.
