Summoned and Unwanted

Chapter 15

Chapter 15: Can a miracle change the flow?

Vincent gulped, mustering his courage to move forward. He raised his shield and took a step forward. Step by step, he slowly approached his demise.

The Great Gray Wolf sneered at the terrified human, releasing a gust of wind from its nose.

Suddenly its throat started to inflate like a frog. Its mouth opened as if it wanted to puke, yet wind came out. It wasn’t a simple breeze, but a strong gust of wind. As if a cannonball made of wind shot from its mouth.

With pinpoint accuracy, the force of wind collided against Vincent’s shield. His body was sent flying until the wall stopped his flight.

Vincent slid down from the wall and landed on the floor. He felt so much pain that he wanted to scream. But he didn’t want to give the monstrous beast any satisfaction.

Vincent gasped for air. The pain was too much to bear. He slowly stood up, refusing to give up. If he was about to be killed, then he wanted revenge for Lupa.

Like a gentleman, the Great Gray Wolf waited for Vincent to regain his breath.

.....

Vincent didn’t want to inspect his condition. Whatever it was, he was still alive. Step by step, he approached the Great Gray Wolf until he bumped into something. Besides, his foot was a table leg Lupa had placed.

Vincent slowly picked it up and held the table leg with a firm grasp. In that current situation, he forgot the short sword attached to his hand.

“Lupa made this. I will shank you with this for revenge.” Vincent didn’t have a terrified expression anymore. Instead, he had a pair of green eyes unafraid of death as they burned with the will to move forward.

The Great Gray Wolf didn’t like this expression, so it decided to attack. The same paw that struck Lupa was heading for Vincent.

Vincent thrusted the pointy table leg at the beast. As the sharp edges were an inch against its paw, a strong wind spun clockwise.

Like placing an object on a fast-moving treadmill, the table leg shot to the side.

Vincent stood in front of the monstrous beast with his hand empty, a bewildered frown, and his body beginning to tremble with fear once again.

The paw stopped, and another wave of air leaked from its nose. The Great Gray Wolf seemed content to play with this prey, so it decided to let the human prey live a bit longer.

“You are this strong, yet you like to play with the weak. I will not give you the satisfaction you want.” Vincent shouted in anger while he quickly pulled the short sword to his hand.

Filled with resolve to land a scratch, Vincent thrusted the short sword forward with all he had. However, like table leg before it, the short sword shot to the side.

As the sword flew to the side, the ribbon was still attached to his hand. The ribbon couldn’t handle the force and snapped.

But before this happened, Vincent got thrown tumbling on the floor as the attached sword pulled his hand with force.

Fortunately, an interesting thing happened. The ribbon got stuck in the current of the wind-like armor and pulled the short sword back.

As Vincent was on the floor, he raised his gaze and saw a miracle happen. The ribbon got stuck on one of the Great Gray Wolf claws.

The short sword spun around the Great Gray Wolf, inflicting multiple cuts all over its body. After a few dozen scratches and a few bleeding cuts, the ribbon snaped. The short sword landed the last slash on its forehead before falling on the floor.

The Great Gray Wolf became enraged while blood seeped from its wounded forehead. This was the first time it had gotten hurt after gaining the wind armor ability.

“Looks like revenge for Ester is complete. ” Vincent said with a smirk. He had gotten over the fact that on this day, he would die. To inflict as much pain as possible was his current goal.

Second by second, the huge head of the Great Gray Wolf was getting closer to Vincent. The jaws opened, and a terrifyingly sharp set of fangs were about to welcome him. His end was nigh.

*GRRRRR*

From out of nowhere, another wolf’s growl sounded out loud. With it followed the screech on the Great Gray Wolf with a contorted face.

[Ambush... successful...]

Lupa said with telepathy. She seemed injured by how she spoke but healthy enough to attack stealthily.

Vincent was surprised by what his eyes laid upon. A small white wolf was viciously biting the leg of the Great Gray Wolf.

Lupa masked her presence enough to approach the Great Gray Wolf. She then chose to bite the rear leg as Vincent instructed, to target the vital joints and cripple the beast as much as possible.

The Great Gray Wolf was so arrogant of its strength that it didn’t protect its rear with the wind armor. Instead of a powerful wind, only a gentle breeze spun around its hind legs. An opportunity Lupa couldn’t resist to miss with her keen senses.

The Great Gray Wolf’s anger reached its limit. Playtime was over. The monstrous beast was hurt by what it previously thought was a pesky fly.

A tail surrounded by a violent force of wind slammed against Lupa. With its jaws locked in place, Lupa’s body swung up in the air. However, it wasn’t enough to persuade Lupa to let go.

The bite was still locked. The knee bled from the sharp fangs, and the wound on its leg worsened. The Great Gray Wolf contorted its face from the intense pain. Then quickly spun its body while landing another tail strike.

This time Lupa couldn’t bear the pain anymore and blacked out. Her body got flung in the air and ragdolled down, slamming on the ground, tumbling until she stopped.

Vincent bulged a few veins by the anger he felt. This time Lupa was seriously injured. He didn’t want to inspect her condition for the hope to be alive and well.

A naive thought to keep his spirit up. To continue inflicting as much pain as possible to this beast.

The Great Gray Wolf stared at Vincent with a vicious glare. One of its rear legs was severely impaired. Lupa bit the knee as hard as it could. With the violent tossing the Great Gray Wolf did, the damage became worse.

The Great Gray Wolf limped to stand up. Blood leaked from its knee, covering the rest of the gray furred leg red. The desire to play was its downfall. It got crippled, lost its mighty speed, and also lost all of its pack.

Vincent raised a smirk as the mighty beast was getting beaten by weaklings. The red predator’s eyes caught such action.

The Great Gray Wolf contorted its face in anger revealing its fangs. Its throat started inflating, ready for another blast of wind.

Vincent raised his shield and held it tightly with the other hand. He steeled himself for another burst of forceful wind.

The Great Gray Wolf didn’t shoot. Instead, it held it in to accumulate more force. This time it was serious and intended to finish its prey.

Vincent trembled that the sight of its inflating throat. His legs wanted to give up, but he had to hold ground. He had to keep his guard up no matter what.

*Boom*

The wind cannon shot. Vincent could feel something hard clashing against the shield. Half a second later, the shield started bending.

Vincent held the shield with all he had. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough. The shield and arms smacked against his chest. Then his body was sent flying just to crash against the wall with a more violent gust.

Vincent was about to faint from the pain. He bit his bottom lip to try and stay awake.

Vincent tried to breathe as it had become hard. Then his gaze turned to his side. Not far from him was Lupa. He could see she was still alive as her stomach slowly moved with every breath.

Vincent understood they were reaching game over. The plan to struggle for survival was up, so he decided to use inspection as the last check-up of the terrible situation.

“Well... the end is near. ” Vincent said in a hopeless tone. His will shattered, and his eyes could only see death limping towards him.

Vincent tried to pull himself up, but his legs didn’t listen to him anymore. Next, he tried his arms. The two raised as they trembled from pain and fright.

Step by step, death approached with red piercing eyes and fangs salivating from the delicious prey.

The Great Gray Wolf stopped in front of Vincent. It lowered its gaze at the human, still trying to put a hopeless guard. Its jaws opened, and a glare of pleasure soon followed. The beast wanted to torture its prey.

Instead of going for the kill, the Great Gray Wolf bit the shield. The shield was nothing against the pressure of its mighty jaws. The shield was like a tin can in its jaws.

Little by little, the beast enjoyed the expression the human made. Soon the shield was wrapped like a gauntlet around his arm. As if it was a piece of cloth.

Vincent trembled in fright as his arm was about to be bitten off. Pain followed as the fangs pierced the shield gauntlet.

“You... AHHHH. ” Vincent screamed in pain while the Great Gray Wolf lifted its head with his arms in its jaws. His body followed as he was raised.

Vincent’s legs could barely touch the ground. He could only stare while his arm was about to be lost.

The Great Gray Wolf exhaled a delighted gust of wind from its nose. It seemed to enjoy whatever the next part was going to be.

The Great Gray Wolf lifted its head, and with it followed Vincent’s body. As quickly as his body rose, it slammed against the floor with brutal gravity and force.

*Bam Clang*

One slam wasn’t enough to please the beast. It wanted to torture Vincent more. He was still alive after all.

Slam after slam, all the knives in his pockets and belt fell off. Soon the sound of metal stopped.

*Bam*

Only the sound of a body crashing against the wooden floor could be heard.

*Bam*

Vincent lost count of how many times his body slammed on the floor.

*Clang*

.....

The sound of something metallic falling on the floor could be heard. However, Vincent had lost all his knives.

The Great Gray Wolf averted its gaze to its back. There it saw a petite injured female human trembling in fear. The jaws released Vincent while the beast turned to kill Ester first.

Vincent could barely see as his vision became hazy. He was at death’s door, yet he didn’t want to die.

Ester couldn’t stand straight anymore. Her legs gave up, and she fell on her bottom. The things she saw after waking up was too much to keep her hopes up.

Soon a tail swung at her with enough force to throw her. Her body flew until the wall stopped her flight.

But the Great Gray Wolf wanted to taste the strange human first. Normal humans came after that.
