Chapter 18
Chapter 18: How is this possible?
Ester and Lupa stared at Vincent for a few minutes, but he didn’t stand up.
The two were worried, yet Ester couldn’t move her legs.
The pair of legs were weak. Their strength was sapped and needed time to rest.
Lupa nudged Ester. It wanted to check if Vincent was alive.
Ester helped Lupa stand up instead of her. It was a heavy two and a half foot white wolf after all.
Lupa stood with its legs trembling. It kept talking telepathically to Vincent, but he didn’t respond.
Lupa approached Vincent a few steps at a time.
.....
It wasn’t hurt, but its legs felt strange. As if a pair of new healthy and more vigorous legs were attached.
Its legs were previously broken and a few ribs as well. But now miraculously healed by Vincent’s mutated blood.
The only explanation was for the bones to have become more robust as they regenerated.
Step after step, Lupa got the hang walking.
Soon it stood in front of Vincent. Its tail wagged in joy by the sound of his breathing. He was alive.
Lupa joyfully licked his face, then felt sad. It didn’t have any arms, unlike the human behind it.
“Is Vincent ok?” Ester asked Lupa as she saw the wolf happy. Knowing it became intelligent, such action meant he was alive.
A while later, Ester could feel well enough to stand. She pulled herself up and approached the two.
Her crimson eyes couldn’t believe what they saw.
Vincent didn’t have a single scratch on his arms and face. His turtle neck shirt was almost all thorn, underneath didn’t seem to be injured as well.
Ester sat beside Vincent. She gulped while her face had a hint of redness, then removed his shirt to check his condition.
“Impossible! There is no scratch! ” Ester brimming with curiosity touched his arms, face, chest, and abdomen.
However, a stranger thing revealed itself.
“I remember his skin wasn’t as soft as this. I touched him before, so I remember the difference.” Ester said in surprise. Then a memory resurfaced and continued, “It’s almost like my mother’s fair skin.”
Vincent was breathing and wasn’t hot anymore. His temperature returned to normal.
He was safe and sound.
Ester felt her arm nudged. She turned her gaze at the white wolf. However, it had a sad expression.
“Don’t worry. Your master should wake up. However, I don’t know when.” Ester petted Lupa cheering the sad wolf.
Good thing she couldn’t hear Lupa speak or Ester would be mad.

[Hmph. This human is all over my mate. I’m number one.]
[He promised to take care of me. Just you wait. When he wake’s up, I’m the one he will see first.]
Lupa was saying many proud messages. How she was the top dog, and Ester could have its scraps.
Ester gazed at the widest hole in the wall. The one, the great gray wolf, entered from.
She could see the moonlight entering inside the cabin and the stars shining.
Outside was calm, and because of Vincent, inside as well.
Ester stood up and took a good look around.
An unbelievable fight occurred. One person took out what a full team of five D Rankers could not.
The cabin was barely usable anymore. As if a sudden storm arrived and destroyed everything in its path.
Broken floor painted red, holes in the walls, tables, beds, even the fireplace broken from the fight.
The person that did all of this said to be an ordinary human. How could she believe that now?
“Lupa, could you help me pull out these two mattresses from under the rubble.” Ester wanted to rest. Maybe then could this prove to be a nightmare and not real.
After a while, two mattresses laid on the floor next to each other.
The three gray wolves corpses were piled next to the great gray wolf and covered with a few sheets.
Vincent was dragged on one side. He was still in a deep sleep as no amount of licking could wake him up.
Lupa swiftly laid next to Vincent in the middle of the two mattresses. It wanted to be seen by him first.
“Let’s sleep. I hope nothing else attacks us.” Ester said in a worried tone. Lupa was strong, but a surprise attack can defeat anyone unprepared.
*Woof
Lupa proudly barked. Its golden eyes spoke for its behalf.
There was no need to worry. It was going to protect its new family, its new mate.
Ester sighed in relief. She placed her head on the pillow and closed her eyes.
The three slept in the cabin while the gentle cool breeze entered from the damage the fight caused. However, Lupa kept the two warm.
Hours passed while the three were asleep.
Lupa was experiencing a happy dream. It was on Vincent as he caressed its fur.
Lupa liked it, but she wanted more. In her dream Ester was standing beside them, looking at them with a lively smile.
A sudden realization arose in Lupa’s mind.
‘If I’m not human, then I’m going to be a pet.’
‘He can mate with Ester but not with me.’
‘I want... No, I must become a human!’
Suddenly the dream ended, and the view became black. Then many beautiful women without clothes filled its sight.
Some were thin. Some were plum. Some were fat, and some were strange.
Lupa could experience a short life in these multiple different bodies.
Suddenly Lupa felt its tongue itch, both in the dream and real world. The mark on its tongue glowed bright, and Vincent’s mark did too.
It felt like the two connected as Lupa now saw Vincent in the dream.
Vincent was sitting on a comfy sofa watching the tv.
A beautiful woman was holding a pizza in her hand. It was a pizza promo, but Lupa didn’t know.
Lupa took an interest in how Vincent had a smile on his face. He was attentively staring at the woman while his mouth drooled.
Lupa thought he wanted to mate with her and decided to try out her body shape once again.
However, Vincent was eyeing the pizza instead.
Lupa enjoyed how the body moved; it had the right curves and was fit to boot.
Thinking how Vincent would drool to mate with her made Lupa more excited.
Suddenly the mark felt hotter. The heat spread throughout all its body. Lupa felt pain as if its body was being thorned apart.
The pain was too intense and woke it up with a cold sweat.
Its eyesight felt different. Its hearing became less.
Lupa felt standing higher as if being lifted. It lowered her gaze and saw something strange.
“Human skin? ” Lupa said as she tried to take a step. Unfortunately, she never walked on two legs and fell on Ester.
*Thud
Ester woke up with a sudden fright. As her eyes opened, they saw a mysterious sight.
A naked beastman with long pure white hair, wolf-like ears, beautiful face, and golden eyes was on top of Ester.
“W-who are you?... ” Ester said with a frightened, puzzled frown. She didn’t know what to think, but suddenly this beauty licked her face.
Ester noticed a mark on her tongue. It was the same the white wolf had.
“Lupa? Is it really you?” Ester asked in doubt. However, Lupa nodded her head and excitedly licked her face once again.
“Stop! You are not a wolf anymore. Humans don’t lick each other for nothing like this.” Ester tried to push Lupa off. However, Ester became angry instead.
.....
Ester stood up. With an angry frown, she pointed her finger at Lupa.
“Y-you just became a beastman... I-it doesn’t make sense. But... how do you have such a large chest?” Ester was angry because Lupa had a larger chest.
“I don’t know. I dreamt of being a human and saw my mate in my dream. It seemed he liked these, so I picked this body, hehe.” Lupa giggled as she played with her chest, irritating Ester even more.
“You! Here cover your self.” Ester shoved a bedsheet at Lupa to cover her alluring body.
Lupa noticed how Ester acted. She wrapped the bedsheet around her body and proudly lay beside Vincent.
Lupa felt like a winner as she closed her eyes.
Ester didn’t think she could take more surprises. It was hard to sleep as the chest of Lupa haunted her mind.
Hours later, the sun rose. The birds chirped a joyful tune.
It felt like the birds couldn’t feel the great gray wolf anymore and chirped in content.
Ester woke up first.
Her eyes could see that last night was real. Beside her was Lupa, and a fluffy white tail rested on her belly.
Ester lifted the tail off of herself and stood up. She was hungry, but the kitchen got destroyed.
Ester sighed while a conflicted frown emerged. Her body was hurting like muscle pain from overtraining, but she had to cook something to satisfy her hunger.
The treasure hunt began. Ester had to find the cutlery, start a fire outside, and cook something.
Later, Lupa twitched her nose by the smell of food. Her eyes opened, and her belly grumbled.
“Food!” Lupa excitedly said. She stood on all fours and crawled over to Ester.
Ester laughed at this funny scene. Lupa wagged her tail while she drooled for food.
“Can I eat food? I never ate human food before. Is it good? Ohh... I can’t wait.” Lupa eagerly said. She sat and patiently stared at the pot while her mouth kept drooling. It felt like she didn’t eat for a while.
“Hold your horses. Yesterday I caught this fish myself. So its mine.” Ester crossed her arms while her belly grumbled as well. Yesterday, she didn’t get the chance to eat.
“Pretty please. You can mate with Vincent after me.” Lupa thought it was unfortunate to share her mate with a female, not from his family.
However, she also didn’t eat anything the day before.
Ester flustered and stared at Lupa. She couldn’t make sense by how Lupa proposed to share the otherwordly being.
Lupa crawled over to Ester and asked with golden puppy eyes, “Please, share. We fought and lived together.”
“... Fine.” Ester let a hopeless sigh. The cabin was going to get attacked with or without Vincent’s appearance. His arrival was what saved her.
Lupa approached her face to thank with a lick, but then stopped. She remembered not to lick in beastman form.
A while later, the fish soup was ready. Ester poured the fish soup on three bouls, one for each.
The two enjoyed this meal as if it was the best food in the world.
Lupa wasn’t full but didn’t ask for more.
She lived three years only eating what was given to her. If she asked, then pain or death could follow.
“Let me help you walk.” Ester was warming up to Lupa.
The two spent some time walking until Lupa could walk by herself. It seemed she was good at learning.
After that, they went to find clothes. Lupa needed clothes and Vincent as well. All his clothes were torn from the fight.
However, there was a problem.
None of Ester’s clothes could fit Lupa. Her clothes were too thin and flat to be worn by someone else.
Ester felt a little bummed when the clothes she gave to try didn’t fit. She was hesitant to wrap Lupa’s chest as the alluring mounds would still be in sight.
