Super Gene Ⅱ: Evolution

Chapter 474 Celestial Star

The name "Celestial Star" sounds very much like the birthplace of the Celestial Race, but in fact, Celestial Star originally had no connection with the Celestial Race whatsoever.

The true birthplace of the Celestial Race is Sky Pinnacle Star, and the original name of Celestial Star was something else—it was renamed by the Celestial Race after they discovered it.

What it was called before is no longer known.

Because very few have ever visited Celestial Star, throughout the generations, only the Heavenly Emperor and his favored imperial consorts, or the imperial relatives, have had the privilege of residing on Celestial Star.

Since its discovery, Celestial Star has been used as the Heavenly Emperor's cultivation ground.

Heavenly Emperors through the ages have all cultivated on Celestial Star for a period, some since childhood, while others only after acquiring the throne.

In the Tianshu Dynasty, besides the Emperor himself and his imperial consorts, only his children were privileged enough to cultivate on Celestial Star.

Among the other imperial relatives, only the Little Imperial Uncle Tian Zhixia had the qualification to cultivate on Celestial Star.

Besides him, no other so-called relatives, not even the Emperor's own uncles and aunts, could enter Celestial Star.

That Lin Shen, an individual of Other Races, had actually gotten the chance to enter Celestial Star, was truly an unprecedented event in the Tianshu Dynasty.

Although it was said to be for reflection, it was in fact a tremendous opportunity given to Lin Shen, as well as protection.

Lin Shen took so many supplies from Chi 118 and An 117, and that was something that couldn't be kept secret.

Their private treasuries were even emptied, and although such matters are not publicly acknowledged, once the Night Ghost Tribe's chaos is quelled and those resources aren't found with the Night Ghosts, the An and Chi Families would naturally suspect Tian Xun and Lin Shen first.

In the Celestial Court, among the many individuals from the Tian, Chi, and An families, apart from the Emperor Tianshu himself, probably no one wished to see the Celestial Master Institute rise again.

No one wants a knife hanging over their head, taking pieces of flesh from them from time to time.

The best way to prevent the Celestial Master Institute from standing up again is naturally to knock down the Dean, and the Night Ghost incident on Giant Ring Star, although seemingly unrelated to Lin Shen on the surface, inevitably requires someone to sully Lin Shen's name.

The reason Emperor Tianshu sent Lin Shen to Celestial Star for reflection was to show all the Tian, Chi, and An families his stance—that he was under his protection and no one should think about touching his person.

To protect such a money-maker, the Heavenly Emperor was willing to put his face aside and would not let anyone take Lin Shen down.

Lin Shen also conveniently mentioned Kong Chuan's merit, omitting the part about Kong Chuan's near fatal meddling.

Originally, Lin Shen did not want to mention Kong Chuan, that thorn in his side, but considering Kong Chuan's "Peacock Eyes" were in his control, and there was the relationship with the Heavenly Consort, he decided it was best to mention him after all.

As for the position of Chief of the Special Service Department, that would depend on Kong Chuan's own fate and the Heavenly Consort's abilities. He wouldn't be bringing that matter up anyway.

How the Heavenly Emperor intended to reward Kong Chuan was no longer Lin Shen's concern. After being sent out of the Splendid Palace, he packed up overnight and left for Celestial Star to reflect in seclusion. He did not even visit the Celestial Master Institute, going straight from Sky Pinnacle Star to Celestial Star.

Before Lin Shen returned to Sky Pinnacle Star, the reports from Tian Xun and An 117 had already reached the Tian Jue Family and An Family's Third Mansion, as well as the Celestial Court.

Although the Chi Family Fourth Mansion, which Chi 118 belonged to, also received the news, their source wasn't from Chi 118.

Since Chi 118 and Chi 96 went to the Utmost Darkness Domain, the castle by the sea had fallen, and there was no one to send word back.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

The reports from Tian Xun and An 117 differed. An 117's report merely stated that the Night Ghost Tribe committed atrocities on Giant Ring Star, attacking his castle and plundering a large amount of supplies. After his fierce resistance, he finally repelled the remnants of the Night Ghost Tribe.

His detailed account was emotion-filled, and he also incidentally mentioned Lin Shen coming to borrow money before and taking away a large batch of supplies.

Tian Xun's report seemed fairly straightforward - it merely stated that the Night Ghost Tribe attacked Paradise Island, but the situation was now under control, and four Pureblood Night Specters were captured, awaiting further instructions.

At the end, Tian Xun also mentioned that Lin Shen had borrowed a batch of materials from her.

Though written simply, anyone with a keen eye could spot the underlying issues.

Normally, such an event wouldn't be considered a significant issue among the Celestial Race, and a developing planet like this wouldn't usually provoke the Celestial Court to convene a council meeting.

Strangely though, this incident actually alerted the Dean and the Vice Dean, prompting an urgent council meeting.

The focus of the meeting was on who should be sent to Giant Ring Star for reinforcements and to eradicate the remaining Night Ghosts.

All families acted uncharacteristically, expressing their urgent desire and willingness to support Giant Ring Star, causing quite a ruckus in the council.

While everyone was engaged in a war of words, Emperor Tianshu, who hadn't visited the Celestial Court for many years, suddenly made an appearance.

...

It was only after Lin Shen arrived at Celestial Star that he realized just how forceful the Heavenly Emperor's punishment of reflection was.

Standing on the grass of Celestial Star and breathing its air, his watch suddenly vibrated, displaying a prompt of Base Mutation rate +1.

"What's going on?" Lin Shen was stunned. He hadn't done anything, yet his Base Mutation rate had increased. This was just too abnormal.

"Who are you, and what are you doing here?" While Lin Shen was surveying his surroundings, trying to understand what was happening, he suddenly saw a splendidly dressed female Celestial flying towards him, eyeing him with puzzled beauty.

"I am the Head of the Celestial Masters' Institution, acting on the behest of the Heavenly Emperor, here for reflection. How may I address you?" Lin Shen knew that a Celestial appearing on Celestial Star must have an extraordinary status.

"Reflection? Here?" The female Celestial's face was filled with surprise.

"This is the decree from the Heavenly Emperor." Lin Shen produced the decree given to him by the Heavenly Emperor and showed it to the woman.

After confirming that the decree was authentic, the woman's expression grew even more strange.

However, she didn't say much more, "Your place for reflection is at Silent Residence, not far from where I live. I'll take you there."

"Thank you." Since the woman didn't give her name, Lin Shen didn't ask further.

"My name is Qing Yu, and I live in the Rainy Mist Tower downstream from Silent Residence. There are many restrictions on Celestial Star, so it's best not to wander around. If you encounter any problems, you can find me at Rainy Mist Tower," she said as she brought Lin Shen to Silent Residence, thinking for a moment before she left.

Lin Shen gave his thanks again, and after Qing Yu left, he began to inspect Silent Residence carefully.

Silent Residence was built beside a pond at the foot of a mountain, directly opposite the mountain wall and waterfall. The waterfall cascaded from the summit, and although the flow was gentle, the splashes still created mist everywhere nearby.

The entire Silent Residence seemed to float amidst the clouds, bearing some resemblance to the dwelling of a deity.

Lin Shen took a deep breath, sensing the high humidity in the air. Yet, in the time it took to breathe in, his phone vibrated again, indicating another +1 to his Base Mutation rate.

"Abnormal... utterly abnormal... Even a dog cultivating here... could take off on the spot..." Lin Shen was a mix of shock and delight.
