Chapter 124: -A Mysterious Egg

Chapter 124: -A Mysterious Egg

A few hours later, he traveled through many small mountains and arrived at the peak of the big mountain at his destination.

"Water!"

There was a mountain stream on the other side of the big mountain.

The flowing water, which meandered out from the top of the mountain, was like a jade belt that was displayed in front of Kritos.

The stream was wide, four feet in width. But it was shallow, the deepest part, less than three feet.

Kritos immediately stepped on large and small pebbles, walked to the stream, squatted down, and took a sip of the cool stream water. The refreshing stream water, with a hint of sweetness, greatly nourished his thirsty, smoky throat.

"Finally, my thirst for water is filled."

Kritos glanced at the place from where the water was coming.

There was a small waterfall from where water was continuously coming.

Kritos soon decided to take a bath. It has been nearly 3 days since he cleaned his body. If he was in a normal place, it's alright. But in this place, he has to constantly fight with the monsters and he is sometimes soaked with the blood of the killed monster.

The water stream was not very huge. Due to its surrounding mountain and terrain, it was shaped like a half-moon, quietly embedded into the ground.

The water was calm as a mirror, reflecting the sparkling sunlight.

Kritos removed his clothes and reached the place from where the water was coming.

He knows that water steam will have some more depth at that place compared to other places.

Kritos cleansed his body for a few minutes.

Suddenly, he saw a hole hidden behind the waterfall due to the continuous fall of water from above.

More especially, the gap looks like a small cave behind the waterfall.

He curiously reached behind the waterfall.

"Indeed, it is a small cave. Maybe before the waterfall, it was a cave of a monster." Kritos murmurs to himself.

He doesn't think much about it and enters the cave. There was some water laying because of the waterfall.

Unexpectedly, he saw a dim brightness at the end of the cave.

"What is this?"

Kritos guess it must be some crystal or lustrous item.

Anyway, Kritos decided to see the item, so he soon walked towards it.

"Bead?"

With a curiosity, Kritos leaned and pick up the bead from his right hand

Swish!!!! Swish!!!?

"What"

Before he could finish his sentence, the bead sucked Kritos inside it.

After sucking Kritos inside it, the bead again silently lay at its original position.

Kritos felt like he had stepped through a formless barrier. Then, the scene before him suddenly changed.

Kritos tumble on a mysterious surface. He looked around his surroundings and examined the area.

Thump!!

"Where I am?"

An ancient door appeared before him. The people who accidentally came here earlier were all there, all gathered beside the well.

However, all of them were dead.

Only their remains were laying on the surface. Most of the bones were on the verge of completely decaying.

There are some items besides the bones. Most of them are weapons and body equipment.

Looking at the countless mysterious weapons quietly laying there, while their owners are already dead. Besides, even the bones of people were on the verge of completely decaying.

Kritos stepped in the front of a rusty sword and picked it up.

He immediately activated Greater Inspection ability on the sword.

[Ding...]

[Status]

[Weapon Name: Qi Sucking Sword (Degraded: Normal Grade)]

[At its peak, this sword was a Mystic Grade sword, but due to decaying for many years, it lost all its power.]

~ Can't be restore

"Mystic Grade!"

If he clearly knows, the Royal clan treasure weapon is only one grade higher than Mystic Grade.

Kritos immediately again use Greater Inspection ability on other items.

"Scary!"

All of the items were once high-grade items, but now they have degraded into normal items. Many of them were once a Mystic Grade.

Gazing at them, Kritos guessed the identity of the owner of these items.

"They must be at least early Chakra Soul Realm warriors. Many of them are also Mystic mage," Kritos gulped down the saliva upon thinking it.

He was shocked. Any of these entities could establish a sect by themselves.

He wanted to learn the reason for their death, so he closely examined their bodies.

"They died because of starvation."

At the 4th Realm of Cultivation, cultivators could easily survive without eating for a month.

He didn't know what happened back then, but the reason for their death was clearly lack of food.

Kritos even confirms his guess through the System.

"I have to escape from this place... Fu*king Bead!"

He cursed the bright bead that threw him in this damned place.

Kritos again stared at the transparent ancient door, which was no more than 5 meters tall, but it was very wide. It was about three meters wide. The door was made of clear water like a smooth mirror; there were no ripples on it.

Even when the wind blew, there were no ripples in it. It seemed somewhat strange. It was like an ancient door where some horrifying monster was hiding.

The name of this door was written above it.

"Sage Land of Divine Crow!"

Behind his back, there was endless darkness. Kritos doesn't dare to mindlessly step on there.

Kritos soon touched the transparent water door in curiosity. He thought, it is impossible to enter it, if not, why so many cultivators died just in front of the door.

However, something different happened when he touched the water door.

Zi zi!!!

Suddenly, a light appeared on the calm water surface; it was extremely dazzling. The calm water began churning. A huge whirlpool slowly appeared on the water door.

The center of the whirlpool was a boundless black hole. It was unknown where it led.

There were no signs of activity; he was instantly sucked into the black hole through his hand.

The instant he was sucked into the black hole, Kritos's body disintegrated into countless particles. However, he did not feel anything; his consciousness was a blur.

After an unknown period, perhaps forever or perhaps an instant, Kritos felt his body reassemble itself back together. He landed firmly on the ground.

This was a strange space; the ground was composed of black mud. He raised his head and saw a red moon hanging high in the air. It was utterly scarlet; it was incredibly queer.

There was no wind in this place, but there were still flows of energy that resembled wind. This sort of energy seemed to be similar to the previous eruptions of energy.

As this wind blew past him, scratching sounds echoed in the dark, resonating with the bleakness all around and making one feel an inexplicable sense of dread and sorrow.

This sense of sorrow became increasingly rich, nearly drowning one in sadness.

Kritos knows what happens, he is again teleports in a weird place.

"Fuc*king tricks!"

This time, Kritos determined to see what is inside the door. So, people were willing to enter it. Maybe some were trapped on it, just like him.

Suddenly, he saw a path guiding him to a certain place.

He decided to follow it, as he did not have many options.

As he reached 3 KM deep into it, Kritos could feel his heart filled with deep anguish, as if a demonic power was summoning his soul, making him feel as if he had to follow it.

Occasionally, there were strange black birds, about the size of crows, circling in the air. They were crying out repeatedly, making people feel frustrated.

The whole sky was filled with Blood Crows. This made the already incredibly dark space become completely dark.

However, Kritos's gaze was fixed on the full moon hanging in the sky. This was his first time looking clearly at the round red moon. In the end, he felt that it was somewhat strange.

That red felt like it was alive. However, it was too far away, that feeling was too vague. Kritos did not dare to be sure about it.

After walking for an hour, maybe a day, maybe a year, Kritos reached in front of a strange place.

There was only a big oval-shaped stone laying on a stunning area.

The black Crow was circling around it, as they will protect the Stone to their death.

The stone egg that was quietly lying there, with the gold currently shone with rings of scarlet light, pulsing about like it was breathing.

Kritos could feel that the stone egg was burning hot and trembling gently, "What is this?"

He saw that the path was telling him to pick the Stone. Kritos nervously picks up it with both hands.

Afterward, Kritos Looked at the black crows, which are excitedly crying. Soon, they happily flew away.

If someone can sense them, they would know, their kind has been protecting this Stone for many years.

Seeing them leaving him alone, Kritos has a sigh of relief.

These Demonic Crows are at least Core Realm.

Kritos stared at the Somewhat strange egg and tried to crush it in his hands, but the egg did not even budge, shining quietly. He could not help but let out an interjection of surprise. With his strength, he could even crush steel, let alone rock.

Crack! A crack appeared on the surface of the stone egg, seeping with red light. The crack expanded and covered the entire egg very quickly.

Clatter! The thick stone shell outside finally fell off, exposing a somewhat White-Red egg. There was a magnificent pattern like burning flames on the surface. Even the most beautiful artwork in the world paled in comparison.

The egg shell is as white as snow, while the surface is evenly distributed with bright red flame markings the size of a fingernail, which at first glance looks as if flowers are in full bloom and a warm feeling emerges.

He was surprised. He was unable to see what was going on inside the egg.
