Systemless in a Parallel World

Chapter 4 Lie

There were many things that bothered me right from the moment I emerged in the parallel world.

Most of my memories were lost or blurry, and my body had regressed to that of a six-year-old kid.

I didn't even know anything about 'his' world, where I was, let alone what I was supposed to do.

However, what I could tell after spending only a few days in this world, was that the godly figure of myself was a fucked up idiot.

His world didn't really need any help…

That was what I concluded shortly after I was found by an Adventurer team.

They had been deployed to explore the forest's depths.

All of them looked at me weirdly because it was unheard of for a six-year-old to be wandering through the forest all alone, but the adventurers brought me away from the wilderness back to the human settlements without asking too many questions.

That was quite surprising.

They didn't really seem to care about me after they used weird spells on me.

My wounds, if any, were healed and my body was examined several times when we arrived at the nearest Sanctuary before I was sent to an orphanage far away from the borders of the unexplored regions.

Traveling through human territory took a while but I got to know a lot, more than enough to determine that I had been lied to.

I stayed for four years in the orphanage before I was sent to an academy.

Even orphans -which included me, one way or another- were given mandatory education from the age of ten to fourteen.

I learned a lot about 'his' world, the world I was asked to rescue.

It was necessary for me to figure out what was going on, after all.

It was weird enough that some godly avatar of myself from a parallel world asked me to help him before he sent me over to his world…

I had to research, otherwise, I would have gone insane. But what I found out confused me even further.

The topics included but were not limited to the change in society over the course of time, the threats humans had to face in the last hundreds of years, and various topics related to all the Gods who seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, at the same time…and with the same goal.

Protect mankind.

No matter how hard I thought about it and researched to the fullest of my capabilities, I really didn't know how I was supposed to help this world…I really didn't understand it.

This world had already been saved by the 'Heroes' who had been granted unimaginable powers by their own Gods.

It had already been several hundred years ago!

Of course, there was also human trash amongst true heroes and evil Gods with devious plans in mind. Nonetheless, I was pretty sure that this world had it much better than the world I came from.

My world had been a true mess…I had been one of the few million humans that had survived the revenge of the Earth before I was brought to the parallel world that had fused with different realms.

Monsters and other races such as Devils and the existence of Demons made it sound as if a treacherous path awaited me, but I was not afraid of this world.

I was just unsure what I was supposed to save when the humans of this world had already created a safe territory. I didn't know how they would need any saving…from me!!

That was when I started to question if it was fine to create my own path.

There was no need for another hero in the batch of countless heroic existences that had appeared in the passage of hundreds of years.

Furthermore, I was just a normal human being… Well…I shouldn't really lie to myself about that.

I was far from normal…I've never been normal, to begin with.

At least, that was what I could tell from the fragmented memories that resurfaced every once in a while since I came to this world.

The few things I could remember were confusing, but they taught me a lot …much more than I wanted to acknowledge…

But that made things more exciting, after all, there were things that not even the godly Zayn knew about me!

However, I didn't know everything. In fact, I was quite oblivious to many things, let alone what the future held open for me!

Thus the big farce began.

Because I was not accustomed to the customs of this world, I stayed all by myself and avoided mingling with others. Instead, I studied wherever I could. I did not have many ways for me to study, but I had to learn the written and spoken language that was universally used in mankind's territory.

It was different than in my old world, but I didn't encounter many problems while studying. I was good at learning and reciting knowledge, I have always been!

I had endured the childish bullying of the young students who thought highly of themself until the very end, and I worked hard to accumulate more soul particles.

Unfortunately, my young and undeveloped body made things only more difficult in regard to soul particles.

But while that was a disadvantage at the first glance as it dragged out the accumulation process of soul particles, I considered it a blessing in disguise after a while. It was an exceptional gift that my body was not yet in its prime! There were so many things I could experiment with this young body of mine!

I was interested in this new world, a world that was much bigger than I could fathom.

It was a world where I could do whatever I wanted to as long as I was strong enough to overpower those who obstructed me…as long as I didn't accidentally cause the destruction of my own planet by going overboard.

…Oops…I nearly exposed myself right here…

Either way…I just had to wait for the day when the pieces of the big picture, the clues to unlocking my true potential would unveil themselves in front of me.

I would be prepared, no matter what happened…after all, I was given a new chance.

Once again.
