Temporal Pearls

Chapter 129: Signature Gift

"Yes. Prepare tomorrow I will take you where you can see the meaning of your name and possibly collect your artefact!"

Seth smiled to hear that but then he wondered if his father-in-law would agree.

It turned out he doesn't have to worry. The next day, she came and just instructed the tree elders to let Seth go and it did. She stood beside him and held his right hand.

Seth knew how powerful she was, so there wasn't even thought of escape in his big brain. He just wanted to see the outside.

Man, he wasn't surprised to find that, he was just 100m away from the dreaded ancient tree that holds so many players. But now there were two players beside the tree, each one with a bride.

They stared at him with surprise while the people of the underground town bowed at them. Redop was beside the trees too as well as the elders. Their faces were ugly as they looked at him, and one of them even sighed dejectedly.

That was when he realized that they didn't approve of this. He looked at his small wife and found her head down, shy because the people were either bowing or looking at her.

'Is she more powerful than them?' Seth wondered. 'Likely! Just to create her, they went to all-out war with the chief and also Redop revealed his true self. Wait. Did he?' Seth wasn't sure.

The place wasn't far, they reached a rock that split them entirely. Retina relaxed and let Seth go deeper.

He reached a large cave with a crystal embedded in the wall but then he came eye to eye with a tall man with many tattoos on his face. He was dissecting a human with a red knife.

"What brought...kk!" The man choked and when he returned to normal there was fear but also anger at Seth. He then turned to his questionable moral experiment.

As if guided, Seth reached a fountain, with mesmerizing clean, cool, crystal water. Seth didn't know when he moved his mouth and drank from it.

He became trance. The shaman looked at Seth with anger but he trembled again as he looked back at the tunnel Seth came from, the whole place had turned eerie red. Indescribable fear gripped him. He bowed to the red and then left through another door sweating.

Seth on the other has a glimpse of memory or is it a vision, he doesn't know.

He saw himself standing alone, above him was a thick cloud blanketing the heaven flashes of colourful lightning or... was it strange energy, he doesn't know. It was vague.

In front of him was a terrifying giant dragon, its maw wide open speeding toward him, intending to devour him.

To his left was another creature that he couldn't identify because his gaze wasn't on it.

To his right, was a stranger, a commander with an endless army of humans mixed with other races. They seem to be far more terrifying than the dragon and the other creatures.

But that wasn't all, as behind him was something Seth refused to focus on because of how eerie it was and he was barely resisting.

Then below was an endless pristine transparent stream that strangely flowed in every direction.

All the five forces, including Seth, were terrified of the below, the stream and it was moving up toward them.

It was a simple but chaotic vision that Seth wasn't able to make sense of at all. Well, the only thing was, he assumed he would piss off some forces and they would come after him. However, the stream below doesn't seem to care about him or anyone else, it was like a force of nature that was just passing by and it will consume everything in its path.

And despite the fear of the stream, the five forces decided to focus on Seth, alone. Did he have what they wanted, like something that can save them or what?

So many questions but no answer. Seth then found his hand in the fountain, now it wasn't bubbling up and then he pulled something out.

A transparent jelly.

_____

"Hmm. That's new but great!"

Guru Gam.

Guru Gam.

Seth knew there was no escaping here and sitting on that tree will not grant him any extraordinary feet right?

He sighed and turned. Faster than he can see, the red colour that permeated the tunnel receded and he didn't notice it.

He met his wife with a smile but seeing nothing in his hand she asked, "what kind of artefact you got?"

"Tangible intangibility…!"

"Really. Are you sure?" She asked excitedly.

But then he thought and then recalled he just said it backwards. "Sorry, it was the opposite of that. Intangible tangibility worm."

"Doesn't matter. We are destined together." She beamed while Seth felt his heart grip and was about to beat strongly but forced it not to make a loud noise.

"I got Tangible Intangibility Worm, it was the twin of your worm with the opposite effect I guess. Haha. I will tell father, he will be happy to see that our destiny wasn't just his decision but the fate of Amma!"

The girl was happy as she even ignored the bow and the eyes she smiled around. The moment they entered the tree room Seth asked. "What does it do?"

"My worm allows me to make things that are tangible intangible while you will be making things that are intangible tangible!"

"Hmmm. My own felt more impressive." Seth mumbled.

"Yes. That is what fathers and elders said. They had hoped to get the opposite of what I have. But you know what. They are all great, none is better."

"How so. I can actually, perhaps make spirit tangible or anything that can't be touched, perhaps like thoughts and feelings. What can you do?"

Retina just stared at him dumbfounded, "You really think it was that powerful enough to make those concepts real?" She asked, "hahaha! You have a great imagination. But don't get your hopes up. In terms of practicality, mine is even better than yours!" She said as she laughed at Seth.

But Seth was amused because when the worm was passing his body, he felt his Aura, Spirit, Skills, Emotions and even some thoughts. It was strange but he felt them and comprehended that he might be able to make them tangible. Whatever that means.

"Thank you!" Seth said sincerely. Retina smiled deeply at him and then she jumped for joy. But before she dived into that happiness deeply he said, "Can you please let me go!" All that happiness melted away.

She looked at him with a slight frown, and then looked at her finger and she played with them. Seth sighed as he leaned back on the tree, he just knew he was doomed here.

[Fusion: 10>20%]

Seth was confused but he ignored that as Retina spoke.

"Why? You didn't trust me that you will leave when the time comes?" She asked softly as she sat right beside him, her scent washed over him.

"I'm living in another world and because I'm trapped here, my real body might not be in the best condition."

"You are immortal, you won't die even if you try. That was a hard rule, right?" This time she wasn't convinced. She leaned very close, her breath wafting Seth's face and her chest pressed on his.

"Most deaths, yes. But some special death severed the connection and we die for real!" Seth softly explained.

They became silent, hours passed, and she looked up, moved up and kissed Seth on the forehead and he felt as if a nail drilled into his skull, Seth almost screamed but then…
