Chapter 221: Decree Of The Demon Lord

Chapter 221: Decree Of The Demon Lord

[ The following rewards will be given ]

[ -> Decree of the demon lord (1/1) ]

[ -> Right to rule the Nether Realm ]

'Huh? These rewards...'

The rewards seemed a bit weird to him. He had already earned the right to rule the Nether Realm just by defeating the strongest demon lord present so even without the system showing that as a reward, he would rule over the entire Hell.

'Is the system trolling?', he looked at the system as if it was some creature.

Although he was a bit disappointed, he was happy at the same time since he did get something unique - the Decree of the demon lord.

'I wonder what that is...'

A scroll appeared out of nowhere in his hands.

He then opened it only to find it empty. There was nothing written in it.

"The system is really trolling...", he had an awkward expression on his face.

And just when he had said that a beam of purple light was fired right into his forehead.

*zoom*

His body was then covered with a purple cloud which soon took the shape of a sphere. Jay was inside the said sphere.

"Wha-"

"Where am I?", this was the first thing that he asked as soon as he opened his eyes again.

Everything around him seemed violet-purple. Other than the blood sea under his feet, everything was violet indeed - the sky, that is.

'Just a second ago I was in the Nether realm, but now, I had no idea where I have been transported.', he said to himself.

But he was wrong, he wasn't transported. Yes, only his consciousness was transported to a totally different realm.

'System...'

'System!'

'Help me!'

He tried to use the system however there was no response. It was as if he had no connection with the system.

And just when he was going to shout at the top of his voice to call the system, he heard someone's voice.

"Are you the one...?"

"Huh?", Jay was startled because of the voice.

He looked here and there but found nothing other than emptiness just like earlier.

"Who?!", he even took a defensive stance.

'What the heck is going on?'

'I can't summon any weapon nor can I use any of the skills...!'

He felt a bit uncomfortable because for the first time, after a long period, he felt helpless.

"Me...?"

"I am The Dark Overlord!"

"Dark Overlord...?"

"The beings from this realm refer to me as the True Demon Lord or the True Demon King."

The voice echoed throughout the empty space. With this Jay realized that there were boundaries for sure otherwise the echoing wouldn't occur.

'Hmm...'

'I can't seem to find anything no matter how far I see...'

'Does that mean that I really am in some random weird place?'

'No...'

'The voice is echoing, it certainly is echoing many times.'

'Then, am I bound in some space?'

'Or...'

'Is the voice echoing directly in my head!?'

Even in this situation, he was confused as he had no idea about the situation.

"Boy..."

"Hear me out."

"Yes...?"

He was suspicious of the person who claimed himself to be the Dark Overlord. Of course, he could be someone who is just pretending to be the Dark Overlord just like earlier.

"I have left three skill powers in the scroll."

"The only one who can enter this space is someone who is selected to be the next Dark Overlord and thus I leave this in your hands."

"Ha?", it was confusing and interesting for Jay.

"It has taken far too long for you to appear..."

"The remnant of my soul has already faded and all that is left is my voice which is going to fade soon too."

"You might be wondering why your life had become upside down or why you were chased by many."

"You might even think why you are being forced to participate in the Grand Dragon Contest."

"Unfortunately I can't answer all those."

"But you must remember one thing, the system that you have been using will vanish right after you exit this Dark Spatial Realm."

"You must find the Tech-Supreme and their moderators to know more about the system."

"How will you find them? Easy. Participate in the Grand Dragon Contest."

"Also, if you want to become the true Dark Overlord, then you must do one thing apart from gaining power..."

"Abandonment."

"Abandon your emotions!"

"Become the Abandon Master and you will finally gain the true powers of the Dark Overlord."

"Don't forget to give my regards to Akaluman."

All these things were said consecutively. Jay had no time to think about all these things. He was shocked after one thing and the other but what shocked him the most was that the 'system' would be vanishing soon!

'I heard some things which I shouldn't have...'

'The system will vanish? Now what? I will be helpless?', he asked himself.

He would practically be a helpless fool without the system. Up until now, it had been helping him in doing almost everything so being without it would be as if he has lost a limb.

He was busy thinking about this when in front of him three symbols appeared.

"This..."

He looked at the three symbols and instinctively knew that he had to touch them. He raised his right arm a little and reached the symbol at the very right end.

The three symbols had very distinct colors - one to the leftmost end was shining with bright red light as if it was some fire symbol, the rightmost end had a symbol which was glowing with golden light and the last symbol at the middle was glowing with violet light.

The symbol suddenly vanished and appeared on his forehead.

"This..."

"Argh!"

His head started to pain. The intensity of the pain was immense. It could be comparable to the bones being crushed.

"What is going on!?"

"Argh!"

His entire body started to glow with bright gold light.

He had his eyes closed the moment the golden symbol entered his head, however, now all of a sudden he opened his eyes.

They started to glow with golden light as well. The pain started to fade away and vanished instantly.

A golden-colored aura was left surrounding his body. For some reason, it felt godly.

'This is...'

'A skill...?'

'Skill name is...'

'God Light?'

The name came to his mind on its own.

*gulp*

"The voice did mention about the skill powers..."

"Wait, he mentioned three. Then does that mean these two symbols also have some skills stored in them?"

He extended his right hand yet again to attain the violet-colored symbol when all of a sudden, his consciousness exited the Dark Spatial Realm.

"Huh...?"

He looked around only to find himself back sitting on the throne.

"Your Highness?", the three demon generals looked at Jay as if they were waiting for a reply.

"Ah, sorry. I was thinking something..."

"What were you saying again?"

"We have given orders to all the demons about the new laws and they are quite happy."

"No one has dared to raise any opposition."

"We await your next order.", Davy asked.

Alon was standing beside Jay and the same was true with Arcane.

Weirdly enough, Arcane became quite loyal to Jay. Probably he was indeed searching for someone who was worthy enough to be served and finally found Jay.

"Hmm..."

"I will leave the governing matters to you all."

"I will contact everyone once a week to know about the situation.", he said.

"Are you leaving, your highness?", Alon asked.

"Yes, Alon."

"I have matters to tend."

"Also, The Grand Dragon Contest is soon to occur."

"The Grand Dragon Contest!?"

"Are you going to participate in that contest, Your Highness!?", Alon asked in a wavy tone.

He was even sweating profusely.

"Yes, I am. Is there something wrong?"

When Jay said that, all the demons in the royal hall were shocked. Some even faltered and retreated by taking a step or two back.

They were just purely surprised after hearing Jay declare that.

"N-no."

"Then why are you shivering as if you are scared?"

"No!"

"No, Your Highness. I am not scared. I am actually thrilled to hear that.", he said while grinning.

His mouth was half-opened as if he was in a daze.

"Thrilled?"

"Your Highness, no matter how strong one is, they won't be allowed to participate in the Grand Dragon Contest."

"So, getting a chance to participate is like winning a lottery.", Arcane said in a rather calm tone.

"Oh, you know about the Grand Dragon Contest?", Jay asked.

"Who doesn't know, your highness? The Grand Dragon Contest is something that every realm is aware of!"

"If someone doesn't know about this, then he is no less than a fool!"

'Arcane, you do realize that you are calling me a fool when you say that...', Jay smiled in an awkward manner while thinking this.

"Then Arcane, care to explain me about this?"

Jay earlier thought that he would go and ask Akaluman for an explanation but he could do that any time. Akaluman was probably one of the advisers of the contest - one of the members of the contest who would decide how the contest would take place.

Of course, he would have his proxy - Jay - participate so he would have to give him a lot of detail on the contest.

Jay wanted the details from someone else's point of view as well. This might help him in understanding the contest better.

"Surely your highness! I will explain everything about the contest!", right after saying that, Jay and Arcane walk off towards the Blood Garden of the Nether Realm which was a part of the royal palace.

For now, he was so focused on the contest that was going to take place in roughly five years that he had forgotten about the two skills, the decree and the disappearance of the system!
