The Blue Eyes

Chapter 31 - BIG SECRETS

It had been several months since the two men knew each other. They often bickered like an old married couple, they also often teased each other until one of them fuming in anger, but this was the first time one of them lost control and yelled at the other loudly. The atmosphere became stiff after the loud yell.

With a shocked look, Kevin glanced at Kris, who had just snapped at him. Usually, Kris was always patient and composed even though he teased him endlessly, but the giant-like young man couldn't stop himself from exploding today. The sudden 'bomb' shocked him until he was speechless.

"Sorry," the werewolf whispered. It looked like he was also startled by his own yell. "I didn't mean to yell at you, but I'm in a really bad mood right now. You shouldn't have asked such insignificant things. It has been a long time, and that person must not remember either."

The tall werewolf looked guilty after he failed to control his wrath. He rarely snapped like that at people, but his foul mood made him act out of character earlier.

Kevin lowered his head as he replied, "I'm the one who should be sorry. You have the right to keep your own secret." His face was painted with guilt, and he didn't even dare to look up.

Kris rubbed his face briefly and looked at Kevin with his hooded eyes. "It's not a secret, but I don't feel like telling a story right now. Maybe next time I will tell you more about that," he said.

The young scientist only nodded slightly in response to the other man's clarification. Kris had the right to do anything he wanted, and he wouldn't force that taller man anymore.

"And about my wish to become your specimen, I have not changed my mind."

This time, Kevin gazed at Kris with a little shock. "You really want to do it?" He asked to make sure.

The man in front of him nodded his head without hesitation. "I will do anything if it can help you," he replied firmly.

Kevin breathed a sigh of relief and smiled faintly. His efforts paid off. Finally, he found a volunteer who was willing to be the object of his research. He repeatedly told himself that he was not using Kris. The werewolf himself volunteered to offer help to him.

"But, I think my body won't give you much information," Kris's deep voice broke the silence, making Kevin turn to face him again. "As I told you earlier, my body's self-healing ability is not as good as that of other werewolves. Not only that, but in general, my power is also inferior to them. That's why I lost the fight last night," he continued explaining.

Kevin's smooth forehead started to wrinkle after he carefully listened to Kris's confession. "How can it be like that? Aren't you all the same?" He then asked curiously.

Kris did not immediately answer. The frontalis muscle on the forehead contracted as he was also in deep thought.

He contemplated it for a long time, until finally, he answered, "There are some big secrets that are kept tightly within the werewolves and are not known by humans."

"Big secret?" Kevin parroted.

Kris nodded as he continued, "I can't explain in detail to you yet, but I promise that someday I will tell you everything." He eyed the other man solemnly. "The important thing is that humans have to be more vigilant because werewolves are much more dangerous than they know."

Kevin gulped sheepishly. What he heard from Kris was new information that he had never heard before. Werewolves were already mysterious, but Kris's explanation made Kevin believe that werewolves' life was not that simple.

"I will wait until you are ready to talk," the black-haired man said, not wanting to give more pressure to the other man.

Kris smiled with relaxation at Kevin's response. "Then, what is your decision? Do you still want me to be your specimen?" He asked.

Kevin seemed to be thinking briefly, but soon he replied, "Yes, I still want to study your body."

If the current situation was not this serious, Kris might tease Kevin for what he just said that sounded a little erotic. But, since the atmosphere was still a bit tight, he chose not to do that and just smiled then nodded his head briefly.

The two different types of creatures finally came to an agreement that was hoped to benefit both parties.

"By the way, are you still staying here? Isn't it very wasteful if you stay at the hotel for a long time?" Asked the human.

It seemed that the thick atmosphere that had enveloped them was now starting to dissipate and return to a comfortable state.

"If I can be honest, I'm lazy to look for a place to stay permanently. Just finding an apartment for Blue was draining my mind and energy, and now I'm too lazy to do that again."

Kris's naïve answer made Kevin laugh. The scientist was finally able to laugh again after a long time his face was dominated by grief and tense expression. The atmosphere around them had completely melted away now. There was no more bone-chilling coldness.

"Then, you can stay at my house," Kevin suddenly voiced an idea.

But, the scientist's suggestion seemed unacceptable to Kris as he immediately replied, "That's not a good idea. Blue won't be happy if I come back to live with you, especially after she knew who I really am."

Kris's rush answer made Kevin stretch his index finger forward and shake it slowly. "I'm not asking you to live with me," he said with a little scowl on his forehead. "You can stay at my biological parents' house. The house is regularly cleaned by some maids, but no one is living there. You can live there if you want to."

The werewolf was slightly taken aback by Kevin's offer. "Are you sure that is a good idea?" He asked in a doubtful tone.

"Of course, do you have a better idea than that?" Kevin replied with a little annoyance. "I have something really good in that place, anyway. Don't you want to know what it is?" He asked again in a very obvious teasing tone.

The tone made Kris a little uneasy. He and Kevin had always liked to tease each other, and he didn't know what plans the black-haired man had up his sleeves.

"If you really don't mind letting me live there, then I also don't mind," finally Kris decided, mentally preparing himself to face Kevin's plans that might annoy him later.

Kris's decision made Kevin grin. "So, it is a deal, isn't it?" He asked enthusiastically like a little kid. "If so, you better quickly pack your things, then we will go straight to my parents' house."

The werewolf nodded obediently and quickly packed up his belongings that were scattered in the hotel room.

Kevin did not help the young man get over it. He just sat calmly on the sofa, leaned his back against the soft object, crossed his arms across his chest, and whistled joyfully. He was like a big boss now. No one knew what the genius scientist was planning.

It took Kris fifteen minutes to pack up, and finally, the whole thing was in the black suitcase. Seeing that, Kevin immediately motioned Kris to leave the hotel room. They used the elevator to go down to the ground floor, then walked to the reception desk.

After Kris returned the key card to the receptionist, the two of them used the elevator again to the underground parking lot. Shortly thereafter, they reached the underground and immediately got into their respective cars. Yes, they used two cars to get to their next destination. Kris would permanently live in Kevin's parents' house, so he had to bring his car.

Kevin's black sedan drove first, and Kris's red car followed closely behind. The two vehicles traveled at medium speed towards Kevin's parents' house, which would become Kris's new residence.

For a quite long time, the two cars drove on the asphalt. And, 30 minutes later, the four-wheeled vehicles finally stopped in front of a large house.

Kevin and Kris then got out of their respective cars. Not to forget, Kris also took out his suitcase from the trunk of the car and dragged the wheeled object with him. Instead of immediately entered the big house, the two handsome men stopped at the mansion's front entrance steps.

Kevin's parents' house had a European style. It was a two-story house that was built using bricks and stones. It had high steeply pitched roofs, tall windows with shutters, and also traditional ornamental details like pediments and keystones. The walls were painted white, and the roofs were in grey. The size of the house was enormous when compared to the other houses in the area.

Kevin silently looked up at the white building. His eyes seemed to be glazed over to the building that had once been his place to come home. It had been a long time since he visited the house, but it all looked the same.

In a longing voice, the young scientist whispered, "Dad, Mom, I'm home."
