Chapter 224: Swift Takedown

Chapter 224: Swift Takedown

Despite Larry calling the students that were with him his subordinates, they were all equally as capable as he was.

He took on the role as the leader merely because of his brother and family's influence, along with his connections, wealth, and intelligence.

However, he had proven himself to treat those that followed him well and they all followed his orders without hesitation.

Even mentioning his younger brother around him was forbidden, and yet Damian dared to mock him in such a way and, despite the situation he was in, act arrogantly.

It made it so that the subordinates themselves wanted to take him down as they charged towards him.

He was smaller than them in terms of size, and also younger and less experienced, while he was only wielding wooden blades.

It was almost as though he didn't even regard them as opponents, but that was the truth, and they had let their guards down because of it.

Those of them that had a Soul Spirit didn't activate it and they also didn't use their strongest skills or techniques as they attacked Damian together, which was the biggest mistake they could ever make.

Damian suddenly used the Flame Burst Skill and launched himself towards the 5 opponents that were rushing towards him.

His movements were rapid, and each one was used to strike an opponent.

Damian had managed to learn to make all his attacks, movements and uses of energy flow and coherently form an invincible and infinite combat style.

Using his Adaptive Blade Style, Damian took them all on at once and the Serpent Movement Skill that he had learnt and fused into the way he fought made it so that all attacks launched towards him missed.

Damian had been given many blade manuals and dual-wielding manuals, along with techniques from the great elder who was intrigued by Damian's sudden obsession with blades.

Along with that, he also provided Damian with most other things that he wanted to learn, including how to become a better Mage, which he had improved on greatly, but didn't need to use against Larry and his companions.

It was unbelievable how quickly Damian could digest and understand things, and it was to the point that he could almost instantly copy anything that he observed or read.

Utsusu said that it was an effect of his copy book and the greater his mastery and understanding of it, the easier it will become to copy and consume everything around him.

With four swift swings, Damian took down one of his opponents in the blink of an eye, striking each one of their limbs with great force, making it so that they could barely move and were in great pain.

However, Damian's movements didn't stop there and before the others could stop their charge or prepare themselves for his attack, he had already done the same to them.

When it came to wielding a blade, speed and efficiency were the most important things and useless and unnecessary movements would merely waste his time and energy.

With each slash, a loud impact could be heard and within a few seconds, Damian had struck down 5 individuals that were all older and supposedly stronger than him, with ease.

If he was wielding a real blade and truly wanted to kill them, it would have been even easier to do so, slashing all their necks in one fell swoop.

Larry didn't know how to react and couldn't help but begin moving backwards as Damian walked over to him.

He was frozen in both shock and amazement.

Damian, who had never been rumoured to be able to use blades, was able to take down 5 cultivators in quick succession and if he knew that Damian's ability as a Mage was even greater, Larry wouldn't know how to react.

"I did tell you not to mess with me, but you never listen. If it weren't for the fact that I was strong, I would be beaten to the verge of death by you and your friends," said Damian as he continued walking over to him.

Larry knew that threats wouldn't work against Damian, who didn't seem to fear anybody, while he also knew that if Damian could take down so many opponents with such ease, it would be unlikely that he could beat him in a battle.

Even if he wanted to fight Damian, his body wasn't responding to his instructions and he wasn't able to activate his Wind Scythe Soul Spirit since he was feeling scared and unable to control his energy.

"There is no need to worry. I will let you off here, since you haven't attacked me yourself. "

"However, if I ever see you again or you dare to scheme against me or my friends, I will kill you"

As he said that, Damian rapidly swung the wooden sword he was wielding in his right hand and despite it being blunt, he drew blood from Larry's cheek.

His wooden blade didn't even need to touch Larry's cheek in order to cause the cut, and Larry wasn't even able to see the slash coming.

Damian continued walking past him and collected the blood in a small flask with a smile on his face, eager to copy the Innate Ability of the Wind Scythe Soul Spirit.

Larry believed that Damian was merely making a point by slashing his cheek with such great speed, however, he could have never imagined that the ability his family was so proud of would soon fall into the hands of Damian.

With Larry's blood in the flask, Damian returned to his residence quickly and, without wasting any time, placed the blood on his copy book and prepared to copy it.

Damian's body was hungry for power and abilities.

It felt as though he had a gaping hole in his stomach, and no matter how much he provided it, it would always feel empty.

However, that insatiable hunger was satisfied slightly by the Wind Scythe Innate Ability.
