Chapter 59: The Jia
Chapter 59: The Jia
Millions upon millions of years ago, a race of giants descended upon the Beast world. They were tough enough to walk through the abyss and strong enough to destroy entire galaxies with their bare hands. For eons, they traversed the universe, and until they came upon this beautiful planet and chose it as a home.
The Giants were one of the strongest forces in the multiverse. They were the bravest of warriors and could always be seen acting as vanguards in battles. Known for being honest, straightforward, kind while at the same time feared by their enemies as they were the fiercest of beings when angered.
There exist all kinds of variations in their race, some made out of the elements like the fire, water, earth etc, and some that transcended the laws of the universe, achieving true immortality.
The Kingdom of Jia was founded by one such being. She was the daughter of one of the originals that came to the beast world. But unlike others, she wasn't interested in power and fame and only wanted to enjoy life. Yet she fought for her people as ordered and laid waste to billions of other beings.
Finally having had enough of that life, she made the Jia kingdom as a symbol of her desires.
Soon she fell in love with a being from another race and had many children. A few thousand years later she peacefully passed on to the next life, leaving her kingdom in the hands of her descendants with a single order, "Do not follow power for it will only lead to your destruction".
Unfortunately, as time passed her bloodline had all but disappeared. Now only a few remnants of the original prowess of the Giants were left. But the people of Jia still took great pride in their history and she was celebrated as a Divine being by trillions.
The current King of Jia was a recluse and never interacted with anyone other than his most trusted confidants. He was a being that was older than the Kingdom of Mei itself and now only wanted his children to take over.

But unfortunately for the people of both these kingdoms, the current crown prince was very ambitious and wanted to regain the glory of his ancestors by whatever means necessary. This meant that the threat of war was constantly looming over everyone's head.
Although the original power of the Giants was all but gone from the Jia Kingdom, even in the current state they were a force to be reckoned with. Many of them were born with gigantic bodies and multiple limbs giving them an edge over other races.
The crown prince was also born with a powerful body type and by many was hailed as a reincarnation of the old ones. Like many of the other races, the giants had extremely long lifespans and could easily live up to several thousand years. The only con of this was that they matured much slower. That's why although the current crown prince was a few hundred years old, he could only be considered a teenager in the giant race.
Over the last couple of centuries, he had started many wars against the kingdom of Mei and wanted to conquer them but was repelled every time.
*BOOOOM*
Kuo and the soldier crashed into one another. Kuo attacking with his sword and the soldier with his bare hands that had turned redder.
"What?!"
"Are we under attack?"
"Wheres the lieutenant?"
Everyone in the camp woke up and came running out as soon as they heard the loud noise.
"It's fine. Lt. Kuo is right outside fighting with a 'beast'. Don't worry about it. Go back to sleep, we have a long day ahead," Jin said with his eyes still closed sitting at the entrance as a guard.
The other four hadn't been with the Red Legion long enough but Qin Feng knew of Jin Wang. Nobody including the superiors knew his real power, he would only ever use just enough strength to barely escape from any dangerous situations and was never really in harm's way. He was a strange and unsociable person, even from the Red Legion's standards which was basically a place for geniuses to gather.
Qin Feng was the first one to head back into his tent while the others were still standing around staring at each other.
"Don't worry, there's no one in this jungle strong enough to take us on....not yet..." Jin Wang mumbled from the front as he opened his eyes and looked towards the noises.
*Huff*Huff*
"You're not bad, old man," the soldier said, breathing heavily. Two of his arms were missing, Kuo was holding onto one of them.
"You should've listened to me. Tell me, did you capture or see someone else in the last few hours? Someone that wasn't on the caravan?" Kuo finally asked. He was really worried that Hao Xuan might have been captured by them already. If they really had him then it would make things much more complicated.
"Hmm? You're also looking for someone? Tell me what they look like, maybe I can 'lend a hand', hahaha," the soldier looked at Kuo holding his bloodied arm and starting laughing.
"So that's a no then. But who are YOU looking for?" Kuo asked while completely ignoring the maniacal laughter.
"You don't need to know that. Anyways, looks like playtime is over. Let's fight again soon yea?" the soldier smiled at him and then jumped straight up, vanishing into the night.
"I'm looking forward to it," Kuo threw arm with the beast corpses and lit it on fire before silently returned back to the camp.
"Welcome back," Jin Wang had already put down an illusion formation and was sitting next to the fire sipping tea.
"Hmm."
"Who?"
"Jia Elites."
"...that's going to be troublesome..." he poured a cup for Kuo and they both sat in front of the fire in silence.
